Sigh... after all this time people still don't understand why hackers cannot be fully eradicated from the game at this point.

I dont understand why some people have fps issues. I run an I7-930 @ 4.2Ghz with a Gtx470 @ 800Core and with max settings on everything except antialiasing and postprocessing i get over 70fps on avg. I still yet to try using Sli to see the improvement.

I agree with OP, i use true surround headsets and when youre close to the coast omg that beach noise is coming from everywhere and its loud as hell. Thunder does sound amazing tho, made me jump out of my chair the first time haha

Well for future reference never go cheap on your power supply. Most of the time those cheap PSU's will advertise a certain amount of Wattage but in reality they pump out way less than that. Also like it happened to you, there is the risk of the power supply shorting out and taking a couple of components with it. My advice on PSu's is either Corsair or Seasonic. Cant go wrong with either one, i dont know what your budget is but Corsair has the GS series which is aimed for gamers on a budget. Seasonic has this S12II series also. Now whichever brand you want to go will be fine. Seasonic's quality is top notch and they are the ones that manufacture the PSU for corsair also. I hope this little bit of info helps.

Difference between Arma 2 and Arma 2 free are the textures but to be honest...... you know a picture is worth a 1000 words they say

With Steam open and your library showing, right click on Arma 2 and hit properties, go to the Local Files Tab and click "Verify Integrity of Game Cache" and let it do its thing. Do the same for Operation arrowhead. Most likely it will say a file was downloaded or something. Run both games individually, exit them and then proceed to install the beta patch and dayz and should be all good.

Its Arma 2 free the reasson youre having the problem. All you gotta do first is to copy the Addons folder inside the %\steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 free\addons to your combined operations folder %\steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead After that it should work. Oh and next time, dont yell bro. We didnt cause your problem.

If nothing is happening and you have arma20a process open sounds to me like it could be a corrupt file or something. Im sure you have tried rebooting your computer and trying again so what i would do is Verify integrity of Cache of both games, arma and CO. After that run each game individually and only after you have successfully run both install arma 2 beta patch and dayz with dayzcommander. P.s: Using arma 2 free you need to copy the addons folder from the arma 2 free to arma 2 operation arrowhead folder otherwise youre going to see errors about missing files and stuff.

Arma 2 or Arma 2 free?

No matter what you do in this game people are always going to kill because there is no consequences. This is not real life you know, so no matter what you try to do to make it more "realistic" at the end of the day people will still kill for the lulz. I do like the sugestions tho but they wont change anything. Remember, this is online gaming where everybody is a killer, everybody is a murderer, everybody is a badass, everybody has a 12 inch dick, etc etc etc

+1 for skype but i have used Ventrio and Mumble in the past and they all work great. However for dayz most of the guys i play use it so i kind of had to.

Well after thinking a little bit more, if you are coming from a gtx 280 you are probably running some sort of Core Duo or Quad 775 socket or w/e AMD equivalent is which means even if you get a newer card 600 series for example it will bottleneck a bit. Even tho the video card is for graphics you still need the horsepower on the cpu to be able to keep up with it. Just a thought,

I say let the game get out of PC Alpha, beta and release then ask about ports. Devs already have their hands full with the PC version i;m sure and regarding a mobile version i dont know how would that work

Like br00mmmm said its an upgrade but you are upgrading to something already dated a few years but by no means im saying its bad but if you dont want to upgrade soon i say go after 500 series at least. 600 series would be ideal nowadays.
