Give a reason to play on night servers?
Xucphra replied to 97ADU Doug's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Or you could chuck one far away to draw people's attention away from you. There's plenty of possibilities. -
Nice coat.

That is quite an unpleasant sound.

You're welcome.

If that's the case, I will stop posting. Good day, sir.

Group Tactics; Whats your Tips?

There's a reason why pages from books are set up like that. A lack of uniformity makes text harder to read. -
DayZ would be very boring if all you had to worry about were the buggy zeds. DayZ thrives because of that lawless atmosphere where you know that firing your weapon could draw the attention of someone who can do worse than bite and scratch at you. DayZ is much more about people than it is about zombies. Unfortunately, a lot of those people want to shoot you. That's just how it is.

It's better. The varied colors and font sizes are rather distracting though. -
There's a very popular mission for Arma 2 called "Wasteland". Vehicles, guns, the need to eat/drink. No zombies. Check it out.

Unfortunately, it's difficult to find 50-60 people who will stay on a server once it gets dark. Most people pack up and leave. You'd be lucky to get 20-30. -

I think you need to fix your [/fonts]. I'm having trouble reading your post with all the text changes and emoticons. -
From the FAQ Q: Turn PvP Off? A: No. PvP is a core part of the DayZ atmosphere and we aren't going to restrict it. Just go inland away from the built up towns along the coast where players spawn.

I'd recommend you at least pull up the boot camp stuff in Arma 2 and OA before diving into DayZ.

Give a reason to play on night servers?

I've noticed that. I can't find any servers that use full day/night cycles these days. I always loved running around at night. The zombies have no visual aggro, and it's always fun playing with lighting items (flashlights, chemlights, flares, etc). Sure it's difficult to see, and turning on your flashlight could get you killed, but that's the fun of it. I don't know what you could do to make nighttime more profitable for people. If there wasn't so much scripted-in night vision floating around, people could take advantage of the dark to move around freely. -
If you bought the game off steam, you can download it on any computer you set up steam on. Do you mean this link?

"They did it for no reason" is somewhat less incriminating than "I didn't do it!" or "Wasn't me".

Just rub some dirt in it. Who needs a bandage?

If that's the case, I suppose I can show up at your practice and check it out. I've been playing DayZ and Arma for a long time now... I'm sure I can contribute something. -

The video looks fantastic, I'm sure you'll get a lot of applicants. I'm tempted, but I don't believe I can commit myself to another gaming community. -

Is this based out of a specific server group? (i.e. Balota buddies) -
It's a good idea. I'm sure a modern city, even in a rural setting, would have some kind of underground area as part of it's infrastructure.

I'm assuming they're going to improve speed/animations for swimming in the standalone in a way similar to Arma 3.

DayZ Alpha won't launch until launched !

There will always be overly cynical people who speak ill of things because they want to believe there's some secret plot involved and everyone's getting fooled but them. I'd like to think it's just ignorance and not fanaticism. -
There's not much to lose. Not unless you're of the type that believes one who wears a hero skin is less likely to be shot than one wearing a ghillie. I do not know if that run speed thing carries over, if that's what you're asking.
