Flickering and Reaping textures in Dayz and Arma. Makes it impossible to play. I can never see anything cause gray is always on my face
Xucphra replied to UltraGaming's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Could you take a screenshot? It sounds almost like you're referring to that broken texture effect people used to get from dead zombie bodies. -
They leave a man up there all day whose job it is to spot fires in the town.

2 Questions About CyberPowerPC Laptops
Xucphra replied to applejaxc's topic in Technology/Programming
I bought a cyberpower PC, and ran it for a few years with no problems at all. It held up fine even after I overclocked the cpu and gpu. I'm actually still using the case, as I gutted it last summer and replaced all the parts with new ones because I wanted an upgrade. I'm still using the old case, ram, and hard drive and everything has worked just fine. Messing around inside the case was never difficult. I've never had any problems at all, although I've never dealt with their customer service. -
I have to say, I was feeling pretty indifferent to the whole thing until I watched this stream. I'm quite amazed at just how much they've done and how great it all looks. Very much looking forward to whenever it comes to steam.

Bonus points if the neighbors' lights go out. -
I have a lot of respect for this "let's do it correctly" business model where people are charged less for unstable software and warned about the problems. Compared many of the games released by popular companies these days, it's a very nice change of pace. Who else has bought a full priced beta labeled as a complete game recently? How much help would the average alpha player be able to offer? Will you have some kind of in-game feedback system where players can submit bug reports and things of the sort?

Back after ~1.5 years, how is DayZ?
Xucphra replied to Vampy (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
As Orlok said, the scripter situation has gotten way better over time. It's nowhere near as bad as it was in mid/late 2012. -
They could still break your legs. If you're opposed to being restrained, just don't let it happen to you. I doubt you'll be forced to sit still and deal with it for more than a brief period of time. I'm sure you can resist to the point where you'll either escape or get killed anyway.

Content is content. Most people prefer more over less. -
I've become totally indifferent to the SA release at this point. I feel the hype train ground to a halt a very long time ago. If it comes out tomorrow, great. If it comes out in a year, how about that. Having trouble caring at this point, even though I'm sure it'll be a good game.

DayZ is Dead in all its forms(We can do something about this)

You're trying to correct a problem that doesn't actually exist. As nice as it is to wish to do something positive, what you're suggesting really isn't necessary. -
Creative Ways to Rob or Murder People

Can you still find satchels in DayZ? It used to be fun to take those and wait for people to enter a building so you could collapse the whole thing. -

If you don't cheat or click links that supposedly give you cheats, you shouldn't have any problems with global bans -
Need to know if this is a good computer?
Xucphra replied to Fatal Stealth's topic in Technology/Programming
You'll get 20 fps, all the time, like everybody else. -
I have to agree with this. I think you're imagining a better time that never actually existed.

Only the cool kids get to be in the standalone.

Though I won't argue that I'd love to see more hold-up style banditry, we really need the murderous KoS style people in DayZ. Everything would be boring if people just shrugged at each other without any fear of being shot. The "bad" guys need to be there. As much as you might hate them, you need them, and you need to hate them.

It's also been discussed quite a bit. Not much left to add to the topic.

Beats watching all the nonsense youtubers out there. Nobody really writes.

I gave up on stashes a long time ago. I could never get the vehicles or the tents to save items properly. They fixed it a long time ago, but because of past experience I feel like I'm wasting my time even attempting to collect things. -
Regardless of whether it is a good idea or not, you should have a little more faith in your own idea and not write "It'll never happen" in the title. You might be onto something, even if you don't realize it.

If I had to come up with a short definition, I would define a bandit as anyone who willingly and forcefully tries to take something from another player, whether it be the player's beans or his or her life.
