8: Make the "worn" helmet look like this, with paint chips and scratches everywhere.
-
Nobody has a set playstyle yet, because the Game is not completed. If they developers fail to add certain features to the game purely because people's playstyles in ALPHA, will be effected, I will be thoroughly disappointed. When the game changes, you must change as well. Though, I do agree with you. Going crazy after a few kills and hearing whispering isn't something they should add to the game. There has to be some different negative effect to murdering people, but nobody has come up with the perfect idea yet.

What this guy said. Making shooting a rifle actually dangerous due to the fact it'll be a zombie dinnerbell will only help players to actually TALK before they shoot.

Dayz Standalone map or english?!

Trust me, I wish I could. This game is 100% better when you don't know what you're doing. -
Dayz Standalone map or english?!
Mullraugh replied to ShadowProphesy's topic in New Player Discussion
It all depends on how much time you have and what your style of play is. If you'd like to cheat, use DayZDB if you'd like more immersion, find a map If you'd like the most immersion, craft a full map, get a compass, find a Russian learning book, and learn how to read the road signs. A lot of how I learned the cryllic alphabet is from DayZ mod and ArmA. Either way, without a general sense of the area or a sense of direction, you're going to be messed up until you start to learn the map. -
Dayz Standalone map or english?!

My greatest help for you, is to not ask for help. This game is infinitely more fun if you don't know where you are. -
I think it should be able to stop more than just a single shot, and it shouldn't just suddenly get ruined either.
-
Plus, if there was a 3-hole Balaclava, I would go from looking like this; to THIS. That's what I want right there! They just need to add a metal faceguard to the K6-3 helmet, like it actually has in real life, and I'll be set.
-
Ha! I just noticed that! Good find!
-
Russian military uses 3-hole balaclavas, so it's possible in the context and location Chernarus is set in.
-
What if... past the mountains was... NAMALSK. Or something very similar to it since Namalsk is an Island
-
Or a massive mountain range on the far north of the map so people don't run into the area where nothing is.
-
So does that mean it's safe to assume the outbreak took place in 2009, if there's advertisements for events/movies taking place in 2009?
-
I genuinely do not understand what you just said.
-
White Balaclava.
-
Good shooting. Too bad most of the guys you killed didn't deserve to die.

Heard a truck approaching, so I figured I'd try and get a ride from him. He stops and asks if I need a ride. And he drives me to the nearest town. Not everyone in this game is a douchebag trying to murder everyone they see. Had I shot him and stolen his truck, this adventure wouldn't have been very eventful at all.

Baha, me as well. Surprised I'm not roadkill yet
-
20 minutes later. I'm headed back from where the guy dropped me off. I hear another truck. and another. ...and another. These guys didn't stop for me, but now I learned that Zelenogorsk is a hitchhikers wet dream.

You must be thinking to yourself right now "what's a bootband?" (Unless you're military as well, or a Cadet) Well think no more! Introducing the greatest military fashion product since Gas Masks! BOOTBANDS! These helpful godsends are a soldier's greatest ally when it comes to dress and deportment. "What do bootbands do?" you ask. WELL! As the name suggests, they involve boots. Not just any boots though. Military boots. All they do is simply transform your pants from: Shitpump: (where the pants go all the way down the boot like they currently do in the game) To Soldier: And no, before you get any ideas, you can't use them like "ankle belts" and put knives and stuff in them, since the bootband is under the fabric of the pants. Like in this image: It will be a single item, with the textures showing two individual bootbands. All you should have to do is drag the bootband up to your boots and a dropdown should appear saying "blouse boots". Click that, and voila! You've got sharp looking bloused boots, ready for action. No more dragging your feet and pants in the mud! Also, these things should theoretically work on almost all pants, except maybe jeans, and should be compatible with all boots in the game, including but not limited to; Military Boots, jungle boots, combat boots, rain boots, work boots, and hiking boots. Bootbands should be a very common find in military, police and even civilian locations. They should almost even spawn 2 or so meters away from military boots like how magazines should spawn close to rifles *cough* There's the suggestion, hope you all like it! Not like it's anything too game changing or devastating to gameplay, just a simple way of making your character look unique. Of course, it will require a bit of remodeling on the pants' side, but hey! You can work on that as well as putting up the ear flaps on Ushankas, pulling a bandanna face mask down to just simply hang on your neck, or rolling up your sleeves!

Here's an Idea I've had for a little bit, now that I've been given time to think. I think that there should be a more realistic way to loot things. I will only talk about clothing and weapons, but this should apply to everything in their own context. The current looting system in the game is good, don't get me wrong, DayZ will be equally as awesome whether or not they implement this idea in the future. But here's what I've been thinking. I believe that clothing should only be found in closets, lockers, dressers, cars maybe, shelves, and drawers. Not like it is now, where you find them neatly folded up on the floor like a scene from Left Behind. You should be able to approach a locker or any other container for clothing (and other items) and open it. You should then be able to press TAB, and like the inventory of a tent almost, there will be at least one or two sets of clothing. They could be rotten, decayed maybe, ruined or pristine. They'll be hung up on coat hangers for you to take from, and boots/shoes will be on the bottom of the inventory. You should be able to open a desk drawer or something to find a pistol, which brings me to the next little thing I wanted to add. Pistols and Rifles, I believe, should always spawn with a magazine/clip a few meters away. Military weapons should also spawn locked up in a gun locker, which you will need either a lockpick, or a crowbar/axe/blunt tool to open. No soldier leaves an AK-74 just lying around beside their cot, even if they are potentially lesser trained than Western military's. It's just a universal rule. YES, we can have some SKS' or AK's lying around beside vehicles that crashed on the road, or an overrun roadside checkpoint, or in the Helicopter Crashes like we have now. Feel free to add on to the suggestions, there's a bunch of more things I could add, especially regarding food items and everyday objects, but I figured you guys might want to share your opinions instead of reading a wall of text, giving beans, and leaving. (Since I would like this suggestion to be considered by the developers) Again, it's nothing that will ruin the game if not implemented.

Yes, it's purely cosmetic, but at the time they create the models and such for this suggestion, they should also work on the ability to roll up your sleeves or fold up the ear flaps on an ushanka, as I said before. This suggestion shouldn't be implemented until they've fixed other things, clearly, but yes, I would like to see it added at some point in the future. There's many types of players in this game, unlike yourself, many people prefer the more military-type look to their characters. I'm neutral on the whole "surviving off the land" thing. Yes, but the current TTsKO pants and such don't have those, and bootbands still work perfectly fine even if the pants have them.
-
It's V3S. I always DayZ always crashes while I drive these things and I'm perfectly fine when I log back in. Flipping them onto their sides and attempting to get out is the thing that kills me.

yeah.
