UPDATE_2015-03-23. Vistied Green Mountain again. Found a teddybear in the base of the tower. In defiance, I threw the teddybear at the tower. The mountain responded kindly. Instead of killing me, It waited until I had built my tent and parked my V3S nice and cozy inside the jail building's garage. Then the mountain crashed the server. I lost a truck and a military tent. Thank you, Green Mountain. Video Proof: CamcorderFile_20150323:Event_01 I have a speculation as to why Green Mountain is cursed. Backstory, history, lore, whatever you want to call it. However, I will investigate further before posting more evidence. MORE UPDATES TO COME. I AM NOT FINISHED. GREEN MOUNTAIN IS CURSED. ~Mullraugh.

Had fun today on the Friendly Flashmob Roleplay server. Unfortunately I don't have a working microphone at the moment, otherwise I would probably be the mastermind behind the prisonbreak. 1940's Soviet rush style break out.
-
I got lit up by a 30 round AK mag while wearing one of these and didn't die until the last few shots the guy put into me. Not sure if it was lag, or the Vest actually doing it's job. I was genuinely confused as to why I didn't die the first few shots, as I know for a fact he hit 90% of them.
-
This pretty much sums up my opinion on the game right now. I recommend joining a Roleplay server, like Friendly Flash Mob. It's a lot more realistic of a game in servers like this. People don't shoot on sight, except in certain areas where it makes sense you would do so.

Does Anyone Know Any DayZ SA MYTHS? DayZ Mythbusters
Mullraugh replied to pookie's topic in General Discussion
Hey. That's no myth pal. IT'S REAL -
My idea on how to make in-game maps worth looking at.
Mullraugh replied to Rags!'s topic in Suggestions
First part of your suggestion exists already. Video by yours truly -
The difference is that the developers were too lazy to make all the bandana's they had currently in the game untie-able, so they just ADDED items to the game that were. Same goes for disassembling weapons. They ADDED a weapon that could be disassembled instead of working on the ones they had in the game already.

Automatic rifles have always been better than snipers. They kill zombies just as good as they do players, unlike a sniper rifle where you get caught in a close quarters situation, you're dead. The AK is the best overall weapon in this game, and I hope it remains that way
-
Winter is coming. Add these items? Because who doesn't want to look like these two dudes in the middle of the Zombie Apocalypse winter? Eastern Bloc version of the M65 Jacket, but warmer, cooler, more soviet, fits in the country better, holds just as much loot, and comes with a pair of pants to go with!
-
This little fella is far far far far more common in eastern-bloc countries, than a UK Assault vest. It looks the part, the Chernarussian military uses it, the ChDKZ uses it, every insurgent in the world has seen it, and it was a standard issue soviet chest rig that was so good, the Chinese even copied it (among other things). I'm surprised it's not in the game yet. Behold! The Poyas chest rig (yes, it fits the rugged survivor look perfectly)

Every time I get a decent amount of gear in DayZ, I usually think about who my character is, and what his past was. By the time I get "fully geared", I usually have a uniform or clothes that look like characters and people from games or real life. (Mostly ArmA2, since it fits with the genre and lore) So here's all the impressions I've been able to create so far! I will add on to this as I get more and more gear. 1: ChDKZ Insurgent from ArmAII Just like this guy here 2: Soviet MVD Spetsnaz Like these guys (except they look better since the Altyn helmet doesn't have the cool visors in DayZ, and the Gorka uniforms looks like crap) 3: Tanny from ArmAII PMC (better known as The Hero, from the DayZ Mod) (even got the shoes right and everything. All I needed was jeans, but I didn't want to sacrifice cargo space) (Also, ADD KNEEPADS AND SHEMAGH'S!) Tanny (hero) 4: DayZ Mod Survivor (Another PMC from ArmAII) like this dude (kinda) this guy I met does it better though. 5: Chernarus Firefighter 6: OREL Special Police Force Officer (Based off Real-Life Russian OMON Special Police) (Would have been better if the DayZ main menu doesn't automatically put masks on your character if they're in your inventory) like these fellas. Show me your impressions, if you have any!

You... You just quoted me. Irony.

Full auto weapons have nothing to do with Cernarus atmosphere, nor survival lifestyle
Mullraugh replied to lucianpin's topic in General Discussion
Just be more careful in towns and cities and you won't be lit up like you owed the Mafia money every time you enter them. -
Weapons that degrade require far too much cleaning
Mullraugh replied to infiltrator's topic in General Discussion
Oh yeah. AK's are the best weapons in the world when it comes to wear, tear and abuse. Most of what I said earlier about cleaning and all that really just applies to the M4 and other weapons like it, since they require more maintenance than a whiny 12 year old girl. -

Mullraugh replied to infiltrator's topic in General Discussion
Imagine each of these pieces coated in rust and carbon because you neglected to clean the weapon after every use, or just couldn't find the time due to distractions. if it takes me an hour to get THIS little fucker pristine for inspection, imagine how long it would take to clean an entire rifle. Let alone a foreign rifle most of us have never used before. field stripping and cleaning are two completely different things. Plus, that's not even an AK-47 -
I used to walk the whole way from Elektrozavodsk to Chernogorsk. it was amazing, and people running past me thought I was an idiot

Mullraugh replied to infiltrator's topic in General Discussion
Every time you shoot a rifle, the carbon builds up inside. If you leave it be, the carbon could eventually crystallize and disable your firearm. Realistically, you should clean your weapon after every use, and every time it makes contact with water, since it will rust and be crappy. Cleaning includes; -removing carbon and debris from the bolt and the barrel, -cleaning away rust formation -oiling your rifle up so it's not so sluggish -cleaning the exterior for tip top performance. Usually this process, for a rifle like the AK-101, would take about 2 hours. So just be happy all you have to do is right-click -
Every day when I go to work, I walk into a Military Hangar that has a CF-18 Hornet sitting in it, along with numerous Snowbird planes. I take a deep breath and look at them, knowing literally nothing about them despite being a near-future technician for them. I can literally say that 98% of the DayZ community would have no idea how to fly a plane or helicopter, let alone fix them. That's why the introduction of manuals and instruction books should be seriously considered by the developers of this game. This way, people could actually be able to figure out what part goes where, and how to do it without completely destroying the aircraft mid-flight. Of course, it's still a game, and you can't please everyone. So have your way, developers!

I think bodies should have crows flying around them. Much like the flies in the mod, it will let you find them easier. Mass Graves should have flies AND crows. Dead zombie bodies should attract them as well.
-
If you have so many hours in this game, you'd think that you would know how to loot by now and that books wouldn't be a problem.

accuracy improvemnt through bipod
Mullraugh replied to Munson_fry (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
I just take bipods because it looks cool. -
I just want a DayZ Editor like ArmAII to make cinematics and movies.
