Stun Guns and Handcuffs

This suggestion is toward the staff and the guys making the standalone, all others may state their opinions or suggestions. Everyone can have an Opinion; I'll respect yours, and I hope you'll respect mine. Character Animations No "attention grabbing" sentences, i'll cut to the chase. -Better Character Animations: this means bandaging, bloodbagging, morhining, epi-penning, gutting, repairing, reloading (pistols especially), throwing smoke/frag grenades, running, walking, crawling, crouching, laying, sitting, saluting, surrendering, opening inventory, picking up items, entering vehicles, using vehicles, dying, hitting the deck, chopping trees, rolling, diving, swimming, lowering weapon, raising weapon, shooting, bleeding, broken legging, turning head, looking around, idling (stand, crouch, laying), talking, blinking, dropping items, leaning against walls, leaning left/right, aiming, and sleeping. (could have missed some). It has been said in a past devblog that you will be working on these in the future, and the above list isn't really a suggestion, so here's the SUGGESTION part. When you first set up the controls for ArmAII, the 'Surrender' animation is left blank. I removed the keybinds on the numpad and set it for 9. In the DayZ standalone there should be 20+ toggle-animations that you can choose from in the control menu. you can set up 10 of your favourite animations and keybind them on the 0-9 keys of the numpad. Animations can be a wide variety from Military hand signals to dancing. Here's a list of a few that could be added to the game. Waving Dancing Hands up Pushups Pointing Checking weapon Suicide Russian Roulette (Requires Revolver and 1 bullet) - Seriously. Please add this. Giving an item instead of dropping Throwing something in the air and catching it Waving to follow Waving to stop Waving with both hands Leaning against a wall Leaning against a wall -combat Aiming a pistol to the left or right of you without turning Shooting weapon once in the air Waving gun threatingly while pointing it at something Kicking Smoking Spitting Walking around like a drunk/dizzy Climbing Cracking knuckles Threatening fist punch High five if any of you guys have more animations you'd like to see, say so! Of course, some of these animations could be scrollwheel options (like breaching a door or climbing a wall), and most of them, if not all, will need sound effects. All the animations that have guns in them should allow you to shoot and carry out the animation at the same time. Another thing that needs to be added is getting in and out of vehicles. The devteam has made it very clear that the DayZ standalone will be as realistic as possible (Eg. no HUD), so making the vehicle enter/exit/using animations are a must. If you've played Farcry 3, then you have an idea what the animations should look like. It should be a smooth enter/exit, not you clmbing on top of the car and teleporting in it. Exiting should be the same. If the vehicle is moving, and you eject, instead of teleporting out standing up and attempting to pull out your primary, you should instead do a roll or something before getting up. Other animations that should be smoother would be pulling out a map, looking at a watch, or peeking at your compass. Instead of a floating GPS on your screen, your character should pull his arm up and look at it. The map would be awesome if you actually held it with 2 hands and had some space to see the background behind it. These have been my suggestions, I hope you take them into consideration. I have high hopes for DayZ to be the most realistic, worlds first Zombie Apocalyse Simulator. Thanks for reading! ~Mullraugh

They should have the hearing loss yes, but also a limited FOV so you can't just put on a knight helmet with a slit for seeing and see everything around you.
-
hell yeah. Best part about bandits is the rags on their faces. You can use them to clean the blood off the knife you just slit their throat with.

My first kill was with an M4A3 CCO up at NWAF, I was avoiding people up until now (I have a great habit you 'bandits' should try called 'Not killing on sight'). I heard a guy sniping a survivor across the runway, so I came up behind him, pulled out my binoculars and silently spotted for him. He missed a shot which was extremely easy, so I put away my binocs and said "ooh bad shot. y'know, there's a singleplayer mission that you should try called 'One shot, One kill' in the vanilla ArmAII, you could use the practice." At that, he got up and spun around shooting his DMR wildly. -Let's just say it only takes one bullet to take out a sniper...
-
I'd have to disagree with that to a certain extent. ArmAII is a military simulator. It was kinda made to be taken seriously. However, DayZ is a mod for it, so I guess you could say it's a 'game'. The guys who saw you on the air traffic control tower were survivors just like you and me. They felt fear, anger and probably had past experiences involving 'fresh spawns' in a military zone. I don't blame them for shooting you, but it's still murder.

Never knew that! learn something every day, right? how would you open doors and stuff I wonder

American Items, Props, Vehicles and Weapons -> out the window
Mullraugh posted a topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
This is a suggestion to the Standalone Developers. Everyone else can post their opinions but should not post off-topic or extremely short comments saying MY opinion is bad. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. I respect yours, and I hope that you'll respect mine. Make all the American things very rare. I know alot of people will hate me for this, but logically American items don't belong in a post-soviet country. From what i've played from the Arma 2 missions, Chernarus is a country where there's a rebel force fighting the government+Russian military, with the Americans and British just recently stepping in to help. In DayZ, I see very little evidence of the ArmAII storyline. There's wrecked humvees (which shouldn't be there) surrounded by Russian Military zombies, abondoned bases filled with Russian Military zombies, deer stands guarded by... who? Russian Military zombies. Pepsi, Coke and Mountain Dew I can see somehow making it's way into a country like this, but there should be more Chernarussian/Russian drinks than there are American soft drinks. DayZ is very immersive, and one of the many memes about it is the fact the road signs are in Russian or Czech. This is a great thing to keep, but everything else (Standalone Items) should be in Russian as well. Now you guys could be doing this already, but with the limited info we fanbase get, it's hard to tell. American/British vehicles should be replaced with Russian/Chernarussian variants or go through Russification (yes, that's a word.) This next point is a bit picky and unessecary, but the Green Mountain easter egg radio transmission is mostly in English. Russian clothing! Instead of finding a ball cap or a bandanna in the Standalone, make Ushankas and other popular hats in Russia a common sight. The clothes in DayZ are 100% dependant on the time period it's set in. Since nobody knows but you guys, it's all up to you, but I hope that it's not American clothing. Everyone loves a good M4 variant, I know I do - and it would suck to see them go, so maybe somewhere in the story of DayZ, there could be a part where Americans/British come in to help. Maybe a part of the map is a UN military base, who knows. M4 vs AK - I'm not going to say any one of these is bad, but the M4 is less reliable (especially in a zombie apocalypse) than an AK. Likewise, the accuracy of an M4 passes the AK by a bit. So I hope you take that into consideration as well. These have been my suggestions, I hope you take some into consideration. If anyone wants to try "Mullraugh's Super Realistic" style of DayZ, join a Russian server and try to communicate with a Russian in direct chat, try very hard not to kill people, and pretend it's real life where you can't just respawn because you woke up in a crappy town. Thank you for your time and your amazing mod. ~ Mullraugh -
What I want:
-
Yup! here's the COLOURFUL version
-
Hero! (way harder to get than a bandit skin, and actually takes SKILL to have)
-
If you pretend the civilians are zombies, this could have some backstory to it...
-
Quick loading screen background I did for a server

There's not many ideas that I have, but here they are. BUS: Having custom messages play on the screens that tell you where the bus is going. For example, "SURVIVORS" could be written, and the bus would play that on the route screens. OTHER VEHICLES: Cages on the windows. The newest update to DayZ made it so zombies can break your windows and damage your car. Upgrading your vehicle to have wire mesh, or cages behind the windows might help... SHOOTING FROM VEHICLES: Once in a blue moon you get the opportunity to have a car chase with a rival player. It's fun, but it's really just a bumper car match to destroy the opponents vehicle. However, smashing out your windows, whipping out an AK-74 and raining hell upon your opponent would be a lot cooler. Same goes with helicopters such as the littlebird, what if your passengers could shoot from the sides?

Vehicle Customization -DayZ Standalone-
Mullraugh replied to Mullraugh's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Yeah I knew it was a later date than the 60s, it just felt like it because all the houses and stuff look like that era. -
Vehicle Customization -DayZ Standalone-
Mullraugh replied to Mullraugh's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I still have no idea what time period DayZ is set in. I always thought it was the 60s, but I've seen a bunch of advertisements where there's dates like 1980 and stuff. -
Made by yours truly! ;)

Here's a soviet propaganda style Vodka ad which can be found in Vybor. I think this ad is the best one in chernarus :D

This happened to me this morning. I was scouting the town near Green Mountain, when I saw a URAL just on the outskirts of the forest on the mountain. I cautiously snuck up to it and found three bodies who had a ton of gear on them. I took their DMR, coyote backpack, NVG, bloodbags, etc and hopped in the URAL after checking the gear. I figured I would head up the mountain and check out the radio tower since I've only ever been there twice or so. As I was driving, I lost sight of the tower because of the trees. I looked around for it and it was nowhere to be found. A few seconds later, it apppeared from behind a large tree. The moment I saw the tower, I broke my legs and was glitched/teleported in front of my URAL, which was still moving at top speed as it ran me over and killed me.
