    Ella's standalone guide

holy pumpkin sauce, that was quite the read.

    Camouflage

I think it's a sweet idea. So long as you're not allowed to use ANY weapons while camouflaged.
  3. Mullraugh

    Toggle Melee Attacks

    Yes. Good idea!

    The new update is amazing!

I don't play the experimental servers. Mostly because I don't know how, but really because it's a spoiler. It's like reading the ending of a book before starting it.

    The new update is amazing!

    DayZ Gets better during Development.

    The new update is amazing!

oh, yeah. Except for the fact that there's massive amounts of server lag and everyone and everything just freezes as you run around and try to figure out what's going on. But other than that it's amazing.

    Zombie spawning

There's yer problem! What did you expect to find in a large town like that? Babystrollers filled with candy and floppy fish? Agreed though. Dean said something about zombies spawning OUTSIDE of towns after the players clear the area, then they will start walking toward the town as the players make noise. Will add some fun times with all the barricading and stuff that's planned!

    What Do You Currently Prefer?

I tried the mod again a few days ago, and couldn't understand at all how I could even find the zombies reasonable in it when I played it non-stop before the SA. They're so glitchy than what I remember.

    The Documentaries of Ollie Westport

Now, one of the perks to falling to insanity from Green Mountain's curse ,is it comes with the ability to voice-act and play the role of someone completely different! Kind of like schizophrenia, but the imaginary person is actually real, and it's me! Meet one of my imaginary friends, Doctor Ollie Westport. A Britstralian (British/Australian since nobody can figure out exactly where his accent is from) adventurer who's pretty much just a rip-off of Bear Grylls from Man Vs. Wild. In the first episode of The Documentaries of Ollie Westport, not only does he explain, show and demonstrate the pathetic "New Spawn Killers" an their lifestyles, but he also rips off the Man Vs Wild music and some scenes from the official DayZ release trailer, and makes an intro cinematic out of it! (Purely because DayZ dev team have been selfish with the camera cinematics ability unlike in ARMA 2 where there was an editor where you could film things.) Please note that all of this is 100% improvised. Ollie may stutter and get lost in what he's saying, purely because he was to lazy to write a script. Plus Its more genuine if you improvise. Also! The white guy with broken legs is Guppy The DayZ Medic from the forums! Small world huh? Also Also, the black guy with the broken legs was actually one of my friends who I had no idea was playing on that server at the time and for some reason I didn't recognize his voice. So small small world at that! So here's the video! Have fun and I hope you find it decent enough not to destroy your eyeballs with how poorly it's edited (gotta hate that Windows Movie Maker.)

    Clothing and Aesthetics.

Here's the suggestion - again I'm not sure if it's been talked about before, but if it has, good! Clothes like hoodies, check shirts, ushankas, baseball caps, etc should all have options to do special things. For example: -Roll up the sleeves on hoodies and check shirts. -Put up the earflaps on the Ushanka -Turn the baseball cap backwards -other clothing items to do other things I'm sure this can be done pretty simply, and would add a ton more variety in clothing to the game without actually adding any new clothes. Here's the second part: When you put certain gear in your inventory, depending where it is, it should be seen on the character. For example: If you find a canteen and put it 'in' your jeans it should hang off your belt on the character model. Trust me, there's no way you can fit a military canteen in jean pockets. Same goes for the gas mask, put it in your pants and it'll hang by the straps on your belt.Things like pots and pans should hang from the back of your backpack if you put them in it. Maybe there could even be a section in the backpack inventory GUI exclusive for external storage. I feel that adding these two suggestions could make the game feel more authentic and make you look cooler even. They could even add an effect to make the pots and pans on your back rattle around or something. Anyways - here's the idea. If you have any more suggestions to add on to this, since I was extremely general and could have gone into every item in the game, feel free to. Here's a picture I made of what I thought might be cool - notice the canteen and the gasmask. Of course he's also got a beard and all that, but that's been suggested a billion times before.

    Blousing boots

    Agreed.
  12. A good KoS deterrent is to convert every DayZ to Catholics, then make them all live in a communist society. Then there'll be no more KoS ever.

    Offline players online NPC's

NPC's aren't any fun anyways. You: "hey, are you friendly?" NPC: "I'M AT GRID 037093!"

    Clothing and Aesthetics.

but... but I've already suggested.. this... before.. http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/177273-clothing-and-aesthetics/#entry1814470 But hey, if the same thing is suggested twice, it's a good idea. So good on ye

    Rethink Reloading

we could do it surgeon simulator style where you actually have to move your hands and fingers!
  16. Mullraugh

    Seriously though, Commrade Crunch

Spite and Not-A-Cola and Pipsi would have to me the least creative names I've ever seen for pop...

    Why I'm a Bandit..

how is this thread not locked yet... uh Green Mountain gave OP that mentality. We gotta kill it at the source.
  18. Mullraugh

    When you get killed

When you're dead, you're dead. You died, and nobody can tell ye what happened. -unless there's a DayZ god that can tell you.

Anyone Miss the Mod's Medical and Humanity Approach?

I actually don't miss anything from the mod except the number of zombies and the fact they all swarmed you if you shot a Lee Enfield.

    The Curse of Green Mountain

    It's hypnotized you!
  21. Mullraugh

    Teaming up with a psycho

    that was great haha

We NEED some way to identify heros and bandits.

This right here just turns it into a KoS fest. Bandits, by Dean's definition do NOT kill people - they hold them up and take their stuff. Heroes should not kill people either, even bandits, unless shot at first. As soon as you make it so the only way you can get humanity is by killing other people, then it turns into a DayZ Origins style thing, with 2 factions fighting against each other. Heroes don't kill people, and they shouldn't kill bandits unless provoked. Survivors are the Neutral guys, who do whatever they want, and Bandits - by Dean's definition, should hold people up and steal their items.

    Help with finding current location?

I have been there before with my friend. I think they're planning on doing something with it... maybe.
