If it were a week after the apocalypse, wouldn't you expect to see more Military behind all those 'signs of control' There's no way a bunch of rag tag civilians could outlast the military. So far DayZ just has an extreme lack of backstory.

PMC: HD SUV's HD for all M8 type guns HD Contractors (aka Default Survivor, Hero, Dicky, Asano, Tanny, etc) HD KA-60 Helicopter Other HD Things PMC Singleplayer and Multiplayer campaign BAF: HD BAF soldiers (aka "Rocket Skin" as Officer and "Soldier Skin" as BAF Soldier) HD BAF Vehicles (Like the military offroads) HD BAF helicopters (CH-47 maybe?) HD Weapons (L85A5, etc) Other HD Things BAF Singleplayer and Multiplayer campaign These two DLC's are great, especially if you play wasteland or domination in ArmA2 Multiplayer.

You'd be running around talking to imaginary friends if the people in skype weren't playing DayZ haha. Whatever - this is the best idea so far.

When I first started the mod, I would literally see ONE zombie, and instead of shooting it, I would flop to the ground and start crawling. Because as soon as the damn thing saw you, or you shot it, it would scream and alert every zombie in the freakin town. That ear and eye symbol on the right of the screen was the bible of any new DayZ players. If you ignored it, you died - unless you got a little better at the game and figured out you could lose zombies in a bush or a building. Regardless. Zombies should share the scariness of the game equally with the scariness of other players. It shouldn't be 99% of the fear coming from other people and 1% of it coming from zombies. This is what the Scary-Chart should look like: 40% Zombies 40% Players/Bandits 9% Disease/Environment 11% Green Mountain Curse.

If you play on most low-populated servers, the KoS is dropped by a bit. Most people on those servers are scared of other people, and don't really know what to do. I like them because it also adds to the apocalypse feel. Instead of 100 survivors running naked on the coast as one plays random music, it's just you and a couple other survivors in a massive world. It makes you feel lonely, and I love it.

The game is amazing. I love it. You expect too much.

From what I can tell, the game takes place I'd say maybe 6-12 months after the initial outbreak. Maybe even a year to 2 years with the obvious lack of military.

Maybe in a new update we can get zombies that are attracted to mic noise. Then when they talk, they get mauled by a horde of zombies.. (we could even get a server option to make it so zombies are more attracted to higher pitched noises.. hehe)
