The world is based off of appearances. Nobody is a god who can just look at a guy's personality and instantly know if he's gonna kill you or not

Never trust a guy who hides his face. That being said, dudes with Payday masks, Gasmasks, Motorbike helmets and Respirators are instant bandits in my head unless they prove themselves not to be. Payday mask reasoning: "oh. I look scary in this. Cool." Plus. It's the mask of a freaking bank robber. Robber = Bandit. Gasmask reasoning: Well. He's hiding his face Motorbike Helmets: "They provide great protection against melee attacks and make me look really stupid, but that's okay!" You're obviously a bandit if you're looking to protect yourself against melee attacks. If you're fully geared and consider a Motorbike helmet your headwear of choice, in my head, that's like being a grown man who still drinks from a sippy cup. If you're fully geared you shouldn't be in melee zones (spawn areas) in the first place. And if you are, you're obviously looking for trouble. Respirators: Bleh. Respirators + Aviators + Cowboy hat: Shoot on sight. All these only apply to geared up guys with TTsKo crap and AK's or M4's or something. Obviously as a new spawn, you'll pick up whatever you see regardless of how friendly you are.

Really? That's dumb.

-Use your mouse to fly, not WASD -Never use auto-hover, not even to land -Move your mouse smoothly, don't jerk it around -Remain in control of the aircraft -Communicate with your team -If you're flying an Mi-24, open the side hatches before taking off so there's a big hole in the side, I've literally had rockets shot through that hole and missed me. -Press R to fire countermeasures (flares) to avoid rockets or distract someone tailing you -Always try to be behind them

One of my favorite landmarks in Chernarus (besides Green Mountain) used to be Pobeda Dam. It was such a remote, beautiful location and I believe it captured what DayZ really meant the most. Loneliness, hope, and beauty in at time where something so horrible has happened. This place could have had so much potential, yet they removed it in the standalone. This thread is a petition to bring it back! Bring back the amazing Pobeda Dam! Write your name below if you would like to see it come back in an even more remote and secretive location. ~Mullraugh

I don't see anything wrong with this. You get better at something if you do it over and over again in real life. It's called practice, or training. So what if some douchebag can exploit this - from a realistic perspective, he's just 'training' harder to be the best he can at a certain thing.

Actually, my video with the bloodsucker is from me messing around in ArmA2 Editor with the Namalsk Crisis mod.

I only suggest things in order to create the most authentic feeling possible you could have in DayZ. You don't spawn with an iPhone or a laptop, so you really shouldn't be able to search things up if you really wanted to play the game legitimately

I think you may be confused, I'm sure he meant your discoveries, not islands.

DayZ Characters: Able to sprint without tiring with over 100 pounds of gear across a country. Unable to take a punch to the face like a man and gets instantly knocked out.

What if my friend's name is Aj?

This is the DayZ mod for Arma2

Hello everyone. Recently I've been thinking about many things regarding this amazing game. Mostly about how to prove Green Mountain is legitimately cursed to the rest of the world, but I do think of other things believe it or not. First off, I've been a little annoyed that people (mostly my 'friends' who I barely play with, or know for that matter) use online maps and other third party tools to help them communicate with friends or guide their way around Chernarus. Now, I cut whoever uses it some slack, because not everyone is a super ArmA2 and DayZ fan like myself, and wouldn't know every sign and location off by heart, which I regrettably do. But I am quite annoyed at you because you're missing SOOOOoooooooo many super amazing opportunities within the world of DayZ. I seriously am not trying to brag, because it's actually a bad thing, but I know Chernarus like the back of my hand. My friends spawn in and describe a tree they're looking at and I know instantly where they are (Okay, that's a little exaggeration, but still. I'm right every time). They are completely baffled how I could know any of these locations based off of a confused description of a dock and a metal building that looks like a tin can, and then be able to tell them where I am and how they can get to me. It's horrible, honestly. I would seriously brainwash every bit of knowledge about this game so I could start over again. It's so much fun trying to learn the map and where to go and what to do. Moral of the story is, this game is boring. It seriously is. There's literally nothing to do but walk by the rare zombie, avoid Bandits, gear up and then become the very thing you hated so much as a newspawn - a bandit. This game is extremely boring to the average Joe. BUT. I freakin love this game to death. It is hands down the most amazing game I have ever played in my life. Why? Because I create my own fun. Sure, other people do that too, they kill people for fun, woopdie do. You can only do that for so long before it gets dry and lame. SO: -If you can't read the roadsigns, teach yourself Russian. (There's even a Russian Learning book in game that you can spend hours on hours trying to find with your friends - a way to keep yourself entertained instead of killing people for no reason!) You can actually learn a real life skill in a video game, -If you don't know where you are, wing it. You shouldn't be trying to get anywhere specific anyways, just follow where the road leads you. Eventually you'll get your bearings. Today I found the full Police Uniform and attempted to arrest two hackers for being hackers. I handcuffed one and got halfway through reading his Miranda rights before the other shot me. That was fun. I will never forget that. Today I pretended to be an insane car mechanic after meeting a person who was apparently streaming. She filmed me beating a car with a wrench and talking to an imaginary friend named Gandhi. She was shot and I was killed by a zombie trying to revive her. After I respawned I met a guy named Ghandee who was pretending to be Gandhi. That was fun. I will never forget that. There's so many things you can do in this game if you accept the fact you have no idea what you're doing and just roll with it. It's seriously the most fun I've ever had in video games. Green Mountain.

Day 99. I was SO CLOSE TO 100 My guns: Died because the server restarted as I was driving my truck along the road at the base of Green Mountain. When I logged back in was Inside the engine of the truck and I broke my legs and got knocked unconscious. RIGHT as I was about to wake up, I died of blood loss. If I had at least 6 more seconds, I would have lived. And of course, I blame Green Mountain for this.

Yup! SW + NW = W SE + NE = E W + E = Entire Map or NW + NE = N SW + SE = S S + N = Entire Map

Only babies use an online map. Either learn the map or get the Russian Learning book in game and teach yourself Russian. People whine about there being nothing to do in this game. Explore! Don't use 3rd party things like DayZ DB or Skype, come on guys. You're missing out on so many amazing opportunities and adventures.

It isn't helping that DayZ crashes when you leave a server

I thought I was the only one. It happens to me as well... -
y u link to same thread we are posting comments on? I keep clicking it and it takes me right back to the start. It's like the idiot game or something... and I failed it.

I want to practice some sniping with my SKS... any ideas?

Zambies are the best targets, but you have my permission to violate Green Mountain tower with your bullets. -
I've never died climbing a ladder before. The fact it happened here is not coincidental IT MEANS SOMETHING I SWEAR
-
Well... here it is. My doomed camping trip.

The whole point of a human shield is the fact that they're using someone the shooters don't want or are not allowed to shoot. It's not supposed to be the legitimate physical stopping power, but rather a mental thing.

I don't want any American helmets. It's bad enough there's the ugly ballistic helmets. THESE are what should be added: K6-3 Russian special forces helmet 100% more cool looking than anything the Americans have ever made and 100% more realistic in a post-soviet country
