Lost all my gear last night because one zombie punched me and I bled out. I had to sprint around Novy frantically while shooting at a billion zombies who kept randomly appearing behind me the second I stopped to pick up items. It was AWESOME. I love the new zombies. Also, I found a bug which causes invisible zombies that can't be killed, but I'm not sure how I did it. I shot the zed and she appeared to be dead, but apparently she wasn't and I had to disconnect because I couldn't see it or kill it.

One does not simply just become a zombie without any reason at all. And before you post something useless, try looking up how to properly type said useless comment. They're, not their. So I've had a Geforce GTX 780 for a bit, and it's come to my attention recently that I should be getting far more FPS compared to what I'm getting now, which is around 9-26 FPS. I've accepted the fact that I get 9 FPS in big cities, and 26 FPS to me, is godly. But according to people with worse video cards than I have, I should be getting great FPS while recording - which I can barely do. Reason I'm here is because I have about 0% computer knowledge, aside from the fact that it gets hot and needs a fan. So I was hoping someone out there might be able to help me with my predicament. Also, nothing will make me lower my video settings because in my opinion; Looks > FPS Here's the specifics of my computer (I dunno what's useful so I'm just putting down everything I see): Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) System Model: GA-78LMT-S2 BIOS: Award Modular BIOS v6.00PG Processor: AMD FX-4100 Quad-Core Processor (4 CPUs), ~3.6GHz Memory: 8192MB RAM (I think that's 8G right?)

I would like to form a group. It's odd for me to be asking, but it's always better if to travel in numbers. I need a Medic and/or Scientist - (guppy, here's yer chance) Actually Guppy, this spot is reserved for you. If you don't want it, too bad, I'm forcing you. I need Overwatch, someone good with a rifle (Irish? maybe?) I need a Jack of all Trades (or Jane of all Trades) and a Leader/Batshit insane dude with an accent - Me. I could also use a Cameraman (or Camerawoman) if anyone's interested in running around with no weapon out - I would prefer if you had god-like FPS while recording. Unlike me. Maybe a streamer who's interested? Diversity is encouraged, women and children, blah blah blah. I want the most humorous yet serious, most trustworthy yet independent, most caring yet rugged people for this job. If you can voice act for shits and giggles, that's a bonus. Also, it would be beneficial for everyone in the group if we had similar timezones, or if whoever's from Kazakhstan (example) is okay with being up at 3 in the morning. Yeah they're Black Hawks. Pretty crappy ones at that, since Black Hawks were specifically designed not to blow up when they crash. These ones look burnt to a crisp.

Oh lordy. After completing the Splinter Cell blacklist campaign, I played DayZ and got all black gear, a head torch and an MP5K and slinked around Berezino spying on people and stuff. My only wish was that knifes actually did something against players because I was behind a corner when a bandit who had been killing all the fresh spawns walked past it. I should have shot him with the MP5, but I wanted to try and stab him to death from behind. Despite that mistake, I had a boat load of fun.

I think it's safe to say we're all excited for base building. From minor things such as boarding up windows or small tents, to the far fetched ideas like underground bunkers or DayZ Epoch-syle building, we all want a purpose to playing this game rather than gearing up, killing people, dying, then gearing up again. (or in my case, gearing up, getting bored, leaving for a day, joining a server, and having my character get reset.) A way to keep myself occupied for the time being is to wander around Chernarus looking for the perfect spots not only to build my own personal base, but also a separate location to build a Police/Military run UN-style base for survivors to come for supplies or shelter. So here's my ideal base location so far. Unfortunately it's not too far from military bases where people could easily grab a gun and attack. But a plus side is that there's only 2 realistic directions one could come from in order to actually attack. GRID: 011 129 Electrical Power? Check. Fuel? Check. Food? Check. Wide open area for camps? Check. Parking? Check Remote Location to discourage PvP and encourage amazing adventures in order to travel here? Check. Tactical advantage? Check. Accessibility by Aircraft, Boats and Cars? Check. Overall a decent place? Check. Ability to have a kickass backstory? http://youtu.be/FDGYbeC3Q9s Check. Post your ideas for base locations below! Chances are the map will change so much you might have second guesses before base building comes out, so don't be shy! Your base will only be on one server when base building is released anyways.

I wanted to make this base something like the one from I Am Legend where they had to travel months in order to reach it. I wanted it to be more of a long term goal to reach rather than a straight forward destination. Hopefully in the future zombies become so hard to survive against that we as survivors are forced to team up with random strangers purely because if we didn't, we would die out there. I want the player to feel as if he/she is truly a part of the last remnants of humanity and that their life is not expendable. If the zombie infection could be transferred to players after they are bitten (rare chance) then that would give this base a purpose because we could have the cure. And that is definitely worth travelling across the map for. Or fighting over. Your choice.

Well yeah, I don't expect anyone to put their personal base ideas out there, which is why I didn't. I just put the big "help survivors" base idea out there because eventually (hopefully soon) I will build this with my friends or squad and advertise it.

I disagree. The only servers that had no zombies were PVP FULLY MILITARIZED QUICK L00T SPAWN LOADOUT servers which promoted KoS more than Drive Thru Bars promote drinking and driving. There's no threat to DayZ besides zombies and players so far. As soon as they make surviving harder and add more zombies, this game can truly be called a zombie game. As of now, if you want no zombies, continue playing the normal DayZ since there's practically no zombies anyways.

Fully geared players shouldn't be where fresh spawns are. Serves them right for getting shot at by new spawns.

No PvP = not DayZ in my opinion. If you don't like getting shot on site, travel around the lower populated area of the map, or go on a lower population server. And if you don't want PvP for player interaction's sake, just... keep trying.
