What you guys aren't realizing here is that, for all we know, the Chernarus in DayZ exists in the same universe as the Chernarus in ArmA II. This means that it was, most likely up until the point the infection broke out, rife with war and all manner of deadly encounters that involved high-power, military weaponry. It would not be entirely unbelievable that there might be quite a few military outposts left in dissarray around the country. This would also allow them to keep both American and Russian weapons in-game without much complaint. Indeed it would help a bit if the devs released a bit more lore, other than "An infection has broken out", but you won't see me complaining and it really isn't a big neccessity at this point in time. Give them some time to get the AI and Loot Tables figured out and I'm sure they will start adding in their own flavour of geographical locales. That's just my 2 cents.

If you're going to remove sidechat and global, at least make sure that direct works for everyone, please.

Same issue, it's really annoying. Everyone can see what I type in direct, but I cannot read anyones. Please help.

Guys, they are rare for a reason. Don't complain that you cannot find ammo. If you run out of ammo, trash the gun or keep it, it's your choice. Anyone can have a very productive time with an m16, akm, ak-74, etc. Rare guns are just icing on the cake. It's a survival game not COD.

The increase is negligible in most cases.

Do some research before you post. The 9mm, the cartidge used in the m9 has a weight around 115 grains, while the 5.56 caliber, used in the m4 carbine, has a weight of only 62-63 grains. Regardless, any bullet unless subsonic, will break the sound barrier. It does not matter if it's in a rifle or a sidearm.

Yet the g17 uses a bunch of different mags. Same with the pdw.
