Instead of removing thermal, why not merely add a counter?

I think once it becomes rarer after all the bugs are fixed it will be all good. -

I was thinking about all the radio suggestions and to me it seems a little pointless. You and your friend could use radios to communicate, but that's pointless considering you could just use teamspeak or vent or any other voice communication program. You can also talk to people you don't know, but that just leads to more... player 1: "anyone in cherno?" player 2:"ya i'm friendly" player 1: "cool i'm in the supermarket" player 1 was killed So I tried to think of any practical reason to add radios to DayZ. I got to thinking that maybe they could have some use in certain areas. If you had a radio, you could turn it on to listen for any other people also using radios within a certain radius. Possibly radios could use towers to receive waves from certain areas, basically allowing you to hear what's going on around it. Another suggestion is that if 2 players have their radios on and come into a certain radius of each other, maybe they would hear static in their feed and know they were not alone. This may sound overpowered in a way but this is why radios should be rare when implemented further in DayZ. Not so rare that there is no point in using one because no one else would have one, though. I know some of these ideas have already been suggested but I'm just trying to tie of my ideas together.

Loose bullets, mags and loading your own magazines.

I think it's a good idea but it seems unrealistic that single bullets would be just laying on the ground -
Why would anyone use a key on a tent when you could just destroy it

technically the camo clothing has a bullet proof vest already

Once the bugs are fixed there will be a lot less snipers and you can stop crying

I think that it might be a cool option, but for the camo paints, if you're talking about on guns, then it takes away from the rarity of certain loot (ex. m24, svd camo)
-
classes ruin the whole 'choose who you are with your own actions' aspect of DayZ that I and many others love.
-
I think that this idea takes away value from loot. What's the point of finding a rare m9 silenced pistol when you can just take a common m9 make tons of modifications to it. It takes away from the whole point of spawning specific loot in specific areas and the spawn percentages. And how would you change the gun's camo? Take it to the local Cherno paint shop? It just seems a bit overpowered that players spend tons of time salvaging loot until they find a rare item while another player can just throw grass camo, a suppressor, a grenade launcher, a flashlight, and a bayonet on a l85 aws. I can already see the "remove gun customization" forum posts...

well that's part of the whole 'dehydrate quicker' aspect.
-
Yea I think even channeling to the perfect frequency could tap into a player's radio while they have it on them, within a certain range.
-
I think it's an alright idea but as DancingBear said... and so it doesn't really fit in with the whole idea of authenticity. I do think that you should be able to fill a water bottle with sea water in an emergency to save your life, but you would dehydrate much quicker until you find soda or fresh water. Also, if infections were ever added to DayZ saltwater in a water bottle could be a good disinfectant... Just an idea.
