Sorry but I'm still pretty new to DayZ and half the fun of starting the game is the thrill of survival. My first spawn of DayZ was on a beach, I had little supplies, no pistol and pretty much assumed I was screwed. But after you get the hang of the controls, it's just a case of doing what you would do in that state. I crawled my way through the town, ducking behind every fence and wall I could find. After about half an hour of searching I found a Makarov with a clip or two, and I instantly noticed a change in the atmosphere, I wasn't prey anymore, I could take out a zombie and not feel too threatened. I can understand your problem but this is a mature game, you adapt or you die, just as every other player had too. You'll look back in a week and chuckle as you stand atop a mountain forged with a thousand infected skulls. My point being that spawning with a pistol would remove you from the tense, fearful initial atmosphere that we all went through. This experience makes you a better player. It's part of the game bro. :) -

Sorry to hear about your frustrations with the mod, hope you enjoy it again down the line. Completely understand your frustration, ranting after a stressful moment is common. One thing just to keep in mind is that this is a free mod for another game. Nobody forced you to purchase Arma 2 and nobody imagined the mod would hit such a mainstream audience(even Rocket admitted it). So they have all their right to charge for the full game after doing all of this in their own time for free. And again, nobodies forcing you to buy anything. :) All the best in later DayZ life. -
Best way to keep it secure is just to hide it in between a lot of foliage and somewhere exceedingly discrete, other than that just barbed wire the area, maybe place a cheeky beartrap or two. :ph34r:

Now I know what you'll say - it's part of the game and I understand that. But after venturing across the map with hours of playtime behind me only to be chopped down by a twat with an axe really got to me. The infuriating part is the fact that upon seeing the person I distinctly shout friendly, but ofcourse, nothing in the world will stop a twat with an axe. I'm not looking for any particular comments. This is just a rant. I'm getting really tired of being friendly to people only to get killed for nothing, I thought the bandit and hero skins would atleast occasionally hinder the ones that freak out and slice at anything they can get their axe near. Rant over. :) tl;dr - Fuck axes. ಠ_ಠ

Haha no I'm pretty new to the game, I may have stretched the hours bit ;) But I was in a fire station and a lovely chap decided I'd look better with my legs broken. The guy wasn't in a bandit attire which admittedly I slipped up on, I had a pistol at the time but wasn't under the impression he'd chop me up. I'll learn ^^

Hey guys and gals, I was curious as to what you thought of the current killfeed in DayZ, by this I mean the death indicator you see at the bottom left of the screen. Personally I would enjoy playing without knowing if players were dying as it would provide a sense of loneliness and confusion. For example, if you shot a bandit at distance, you would be more inclined to head over to the body in an attempt to confirm a kill, furthermore, this could in some instances reduce the killing of new players as those who camp on the hills wouldn't be completely aware if they kill someone. But again this was just my opinion, let me know what you think, if you don't agree with this - what are the possible down sides to the removal of them? Thanks for reading :) tl;dr - Should killfeeds be removed to discourage camping and encourage checking areas to confirm a kill?

To highlight SystemiKs point - the state the mod is in right now is natural for an Alpha period. Most dev's don't show the public games at this stage meaning we're to expect bugs, glitches and rough additions because it's the natural course of them creating mods and games that we'll love. If you don't enjoy the state the Alpha is in, don't play, it will get better in time, we're here to test everything. Usually developers don't dare to show how rough a mod/game is at, atleast we get to watch DayZ mould into something even better. All the best guys :) -

Poll: Should Barbed wire be removed?

My one gripe about barbed wire is the fact that even if I do manage to find a toolbox and attempt to cut the wire, it only takes the troll who placed it there a second to hear me and spray me with bullets. I have no problem with many aspects of the game, it's the people that exploit them. -
Your screen looks quite bright for night time, I've yet to use night vision but would I be right in assuming you increased the gamma to see clearer?

From what I know they can't modify the viewing distance of Z's. What difficulty were you on? I've noticed they aggro like a bitch on the higher tiers. -
