People that argue against "Eat All" for the sake of realism have an extreme case of selective memory. It's quite funny how upset people get over making eating easier, while at the same time ignoring all the other unrealistic things in the game (like ZOMBIES, for example). In any case, this is a welcome addition to the game and one that I've been waiting a long time for.- 604 replies

Has anyone ever managed to wake up?

My instincts say this is a troll thread.

You don't have to be "old" to remember those days. The Internet as we know it hasn't even been around for 20 years. Broadband wasn't common until the 2000's. If you wanted to research a game before you bought it, you had to read the box or wait for your monthly subscription of GamePro to arrive in the mail. If you were lucky, your friend already had it and you could try it out to see if you liked it. That was it. There were no web reviews, no YouTube videos, and definitely no demos to download. The kids growing up now are definitely spoiled when it comes to games.

Yep, post the coordinates. Then we'll know if he's telling the truth right away. -
I actually came here to start a thread on what fixed it for me. I was running the latest beta patch (94945 at the time of this post) and I couldn't connect to a single server. All I got was the "Wait for Host" message also. I downgraded to the beta patch right before it (94876) and I was then able to connect just fine. Hope this helps someone. By the way, regardless of what it says when you install the patch, you don't need to reinstall ArmA in order to downgrade the beta patch. Just download the older one and run it, and you're done.

I've been getting a lot of M240 ammo as well. So far I'm up to 800 rounds. And before anyone asks, yes I have the weapon to go with it.

What does 1.6.0.1 fix?

If I can't place a tent here, I can't place one anywhere:

Flies buzzing for no reason, corpses vanishing
OUT FOX EM replied to hatesauce's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
That's a little worrisome. They used to stay for a very long time -- I once recovered my own stuff 50 minutes after I died (I actually checked the time on my phone). Now they disappear when the player disconnects or respawns, instead of how it used to be. However, judging from those patch notes, it doesn't sound like he knows the actual cause of the issue, but instead thinks they're simply disappearing too quickly and has lengthened that time. I'm thinking they'll still disappear when a player disconnects or respawns, but I guess we'll have to wait and see. -
Player corpses disappearing when they disconnect/respawn
OUT FOX EM posted a topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Date/Time: May 23rd, 2012 What happened: Player corpses disappearing when they disconnect/respawn Where you were: Anywhere in-game What you were doing: Attempting to loot/recover items from a corpse's inventory Current installed version: 1.5.8.4 Server(s) you were on: All servers There's already a good discussion thread going on the issue, but I feel a bug report is necessary anyway. As the thread title suggests, corpses have begun disappearing whenever a player respawns, obviously making it impossible to loot/recover the items in their inventory. This is obviously a major part of gameplay and I'm hoping it's not intentional. Though I imagine if it was intended it would have appeared in the patch notes. Discussion thread: http://www.dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=6652 -
I'm signing this also. I have included a screenshot of the field I was attempting to place a tent on. If it's not possible here, it's not possible anywhere:

Wait... you can use beta patches without the "wrong version" message popping up every 5 seconds? EDIT: Nevermind. This is an ArmA patch, not a DayZ patch.

Player corpses disappearing in new patch?
OUT FOX EM replied to lexxer's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yeah, this is annoying. When I try to loot the people I've killed, or even grab the important stuff from my fallen allies, I have a very limited window until they respawn again, meaning the body disappears. It also makes it impossible to get back to your previous location and grab your precious items. I really hope this gets fixed, as it's a major gameplay element. -
You know you've played too much Day Z when...
OUT FOX EM replied to boxman80's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Funny that you made this thread. I actually was going to make it myself. True story: When walking down the road today, I saw a small pile of trash and my first thought was "I wonder what loot is in there?" During the same walk, I heard someone walking behind me, and my initial instinct was to "press Alt to look behind". I kid you not. Also, when playing another game (APB), I saw some people running toward me and immediately thought "Shit! The Zed!" I've definitely been playing this too much.
