Today was my first time playing DayZ. My friends talked me into playing but weren't on and I wanted to play a bit to get used to the game. I hopped on a random server, which was US 454 hosted by SICO I think, since there weren't a terrible amount of people which I figured improved my chances of not getting ganked. I was running through a town when I was attacked by zombies taking damage and someone started shooting at me. I ran into a grocery store type building to take cover and hide out for a minute. I was in the store for about 2 or 3 minutes when a player came in and found me. I figured they were going to kill me since they had guns and I didn't but then they started talking in vicinity chat and asking if I needed help. Once he told me how to use the vicinity chat and I told him I was brand new and had no idea what I was doing. He escorted me around a few buildings to find a weapon and some other items while protecting me from zombies and giving me tips about how do use things and where to go and places that were usually crowded. Hopesfall helped me for at least 45 minutes until I had to go to work and took me to a safe spot to log out. He offered me an invite to his clan if my friends and I needed help which was greatly appreciated. I've heard many horror stories about starting out and having people trick you and kill you, so it was nice to have someone actually be helpful. tl;dr version: I don't know if you will read this, but thank you =FTS= Hopesfall, I hope there are more people like you in this game. Can't wait to play more DayZ if the community is all this helpful most of the time!
