Ok so i'm sure that the most of the people that play dayz just bought arma 2 co so they could play dayz. But if you played the real game you would know about the "visibility" feature in the "video setting" for lack of a better term. Now if you go into video settings while you're playing dayz you will see this option featured as a little bar that you can drag left and right. Now in this setting the bar ranges from 500-10000 (visibility in meters) letting you adjust your sight capabilities for whatever reason. Now if you do this in the game absolutely JACK SHIT will happen. And so hear comes the dilemma i have run across, so lets say im just running around with some low grade military weapon (m16a2) and out of nowhere i find a dmr (or some other various sniper rifle). And im just like "great now i can take out guys from a distance"! But NO some how and some FUCKING way the visibility is set to 500, even though i check my video settings and it says 10,000, a big fucking difference may i add. And so there i'am with my dick in my hand trying to snipe bandits from a 250 m distance (because anything past that point becomes faded and difficult to see). And if anyone who has played dayz and has sniped would know that stealth sniping from just 250m is harder and not nearly as fun when doing so from 400+ meters. I wasn't sure where to post this but thought that general discussion was good enough place to post. So if anyone can explain to me why there is a FUCKING option to let the servers control your characters seeing capabilities please post in a reply. And may i add that this completely ruins how to maps look like visually, take for example the new takistan map. I have been playing on that map (prior to dayz) for a year and a half now and know just about everywhere on the map and can recognize most structures and geological locations. But i just recently found a server that had this map and was excited to play so i hoped in and got a shitty spawn (literally so far out the even foliage wasn't spawning) but found my way to civilization. But some moron thought that having the visibility on low would be a good idea, and i spent hours trying to find different places and navigate through what i thought to be a familiar place. It got to the point in which it almost felt like there was more fog than the actual map and it ruined the experience i had on the server. And considering it is a desert map the visibility should be high since its a desert (use common sense to reason my logic). I don't know about you guys but this is really starting to frustrate me when it takes 10 minutes to join a server and i hop in and i can't see whats off to the distance. If anyone can explain this shit to me please do because at this point because i have a lack of words.
