I set up my controls like BF3 Choppers and flew around on the armoury. I did a lot of the taxi challenges and I feel fairly confident in my ability to fly a chopper in Dayz. http://i.imgur.com/FfnLt.jpg If you play BF3 a lot this might help you get the controls down a bit.

I agree with OP but he doesn't take this far enough, I mean really guns aren't all that common and all those dead soldier that are lying around the map should prove that. The military probably didn't even go in with any weapons sure they had tanks, Humvee's and Heli's but that doesn't mean they were expecting a fight. The fact of the matter is that the military just didn't think they would need any high power weapons to deal with this new threat and left them all in the armoury.

Most of the time they are skill less noobs who Alt F4 when they are in any real danger.

I played on this server for about an hour during that hour I was saved by admin after a Hacker teleported next to me Instabanned. :D Found a Bike, MP5, and a Tent and made a nice little home. Also no more waiting for Loots to spawn in! Think I might make this my new home.

If anyone is up in the NE area of the map I found a fair amount of tents with loots in them. They are at 140 - 041 (US 1879) Coastal side on near the wrecked boat. Before anyone post "IT'S A TRAP!1!" it's not I found 2 AS50 Thermals and didn't have the ability to destroy their whole camp so letting everyone know where it is seemed like a good alternative. Items: 2 SVD camos( I took all the clips Sorry) 4-5 NVGs 1 Range finders I believe 3 Fals /w clips 3-4 NVG Fals 1-2 AS50s( I destroyed the Thermals so don't get any ideas) no clips 1-2 M4s with 10clips and other random crap If you might be able to use any of this stuff go and grab it before they figure out they have been hit and for the love of god don't forget to save the tents after raiding them.

Tents are immune to HE grenades.

The SVD Camo doesn't have Night vision, cannot be used with Night vision, and has a terrible zoom.

I wouldn't mind finding some other people to play with I generally get bored after I get geared up.

That's because your hiding spot sucked find a better one or do what I do Find other people stuff and borrow all their crap.

Implying I start shooting at everyone I see, I don't randomly kill people all the time. Why should I be discriminated against because of my moral flexibility? Regardless I wasn't in my bandito skin and was armed with a hatchet.

When you need to pass those tents at the SW Airfield off road to the right it artefacts less.

Just biking along mind my own business and such when I see a new spawn and decide to give him a proper Dayz welcome. Hop off the bike and unload a clip well welcoming him to the game. :3

It took me a week to get the hang of the game, It's hard when you first start out but after a little while it's actually very easy to gear up. Just hit up deer stands and avoid Electro and Cherno if you cannot PvP. If you can just hit electro sniper hill and grab noob snipers gear. There is always 1 or 2 on that hill near the power station.

I found 4 tents as a fresh spawn at Pit Kozlovo right on the ATV spawn. Set myself up with 3 sets of NVGs, 2 Range finders a M4A1 SD, and some medical supplies. I've never understood how people can place tents in such terrible spots like in a city, sniper hill or Vehicle Spawns.

been running around the colony for a while so I'll tell you my experience with these people. Basically the first night bandits raided the colony with AS50s and killed a few people. They were banned with a message like AS50 LOL and were dismissed as hackers. Most of the security team kept saying they wanted a REAL bandit attack instead of these hackers. Later on I returned to the colony to just chill out for a bit when they were attacked by "Hackers" who had killed off most of they Security force and were now being shot at after a while of this and being assured someone is out there looking for them they then tell everyone its safe. A short time after that raid another group or the same one shows up and kills everyone in the building. Now everyone is dead and the bans go out to "hackers." Now Me and some Aussie are the only people left me because I was hiding in the tent and Him because he was out of the compound or something. We grab a truck and proceed to pick people up. I was on TS heading down the coast with my Aussie driver Hunter and others were talking over vent. He proceeded to say " I know they were hacking because I hack myself Just to look for other hackers." He spawns a Sports car of some kind for a friend on the coast so he can get back to the it was a sports car of some kind because I remember him saying to not bring it to the colony and to ditch it near. Well he is spawning a Car for his friend he said "Hey, check out what Rocket is putting into the game" and he spawns some unknown Car/Truck after showing who ever this was he tells them to back away so he can destroy it. After we all get back from the coast of picking up all our people we then get to the colony and that's probably when LuminatX and his group shot up the place, Server then shuts down. If your still planning to go here maybe this will change your mind the security is basically useless they get destroyed by snipers. I have walked into the compound had no one around basically looked around seen tents unguarded. If you go you will be asked to place your weapon in the tent and your gun can go missing. You have NVG you clearly stole them and then you get shot. People shoot you if your run on the road, in the compound and if your defending yourself from zombies in the compound. I was near the colony when the "Airstrike" happened no Explosions no noise like that just a chopper flying around and I'm fairly sure someone shot that down. The last time I tried to head to the colony I walked down to the road with a Lee rifle with no ammo or NVGs, I say "I'll hit up the deer stand that away from the Factory. I start running away from the place and their "Snipers" start firing at me thankfully they are about as accurate as Imperial Stormtroopers and zig zag the hell out of there when I hear a Jeep start coming after me. Thankfully their only slightly better at shooting and I only get clipped by them on my way to the forest. TLDR - Hunter is a Hacker, Colony Shoots at friendlies, Security is Worthless, Succuessful attack = Ban

Looking for a group to run with I'm decently experienced at scavenging and know my way around the area. I just want some people who will not shoot me on sight, will hit up some towns, and administer blood packs. Running on EST.
