Agree 100% Finally got a mate onto DayZ the other day and I was giving him some basic training, we hit a couple of deerstands in the mid-North and I had to bring down 3 zombies with my M14 who had pinged him as he went up the ladder. Those gunshots alerted a couple of nearby bandits who flanked the tower and shot my buddy right in the head without a single 'how do you do'. Their big mistake was moving in together then stopping to high-five each other near my buddies corpse - the real threat was 50 metres back from the tree line and was lining the 2 of them up beautifully for some payback. I took the first one down with a headshot then opened up on the second, he dropped down out of sight but I must have broken his leg, as I moved up slowly he was dragging himself away and I took great pleasure in blowing his brains out. Scored some great loot too, pity my mate lost his first guy but there was a silver lining in the end!

Can you like fly around and stuff? Do zombies swat at you futileym can you 'shoot' to caw in peoples ear? Sounds like a bit of fun if you ask me... Is it a Raven, man I would so totally freak dudes out with that!

I don't know if you will believe this but the attachment to my post JUST DISAPEARED! Weird thing is, since 1.7.2 if either of us ever have to respawn at night now - we always spawn on the shores of Black Lake...

Hey Bro I played like this for a few days, had a great time scoping out remote places like Devil's Castle and Black Lake but then, well, I guess I got lonely and decided to head back to civilization to see if the whole apocalypse had blown over. Turns out things were worse than ever, zombies...everywhere and the humans that were left had turned in less than animals, all of them hell-bent on murdering me for my beans. Get yourself kitted out and head back into the wilds, hopefully in a few months the whole area will be yours for the taking.

Way back in DayZ day-one I had spent about 2 hours running blindly through forests and crap then came over a hill looking down onto a town. It looked normal to me except for the 'monkey' zombie who was heading INSIDE one of farm buildings, I remember thinking 'that's odd' so I went down for a look. Peeking through the doors that the zombie had entered by I could see the monkey-zed hopping towards a guy that looked an awful lot like one of those bandits I'd heard about, he was side-on checking out some loot. Course, I was not familiar with the sort of thing I was looking at so I just stood there staring until the bandit swung round and started firing at me, in the split second before I went down I got of 3 or 4 shots at him - I kind of hope I got him... My first death (and it was to a bandit) and I learned: 1. Zombies go inside buildings for a reason. 2. If he looks like a bad person, shoot him. True story.

Perhaps you are a filthy bandit and they have come the hear your confession!

I turned back to make sure my buddy was still with me and managed to grab a screenshot of this thing before I ALT-F4'd my ass out of there! Never saw my friend again. True story!

I have applied as well, i've got another mate who's a mad-keen racer and is installing DayZ as we speak (I've been on for a couple of weeks) so would be good to get us a team going and maybe race some UAZ's!

Found a heli yesterday, scored an M4 and Bison SD - and then as I ducked down a nearby hill I cam across a trail bike hidden in the bushes. I went for a spin through the countryside, if I hadn't just picked up 2 sweet guns I probably would have done the coast road end-to-end... In the end I hit a bush and broke the wheel and left the bike on a railway crossing :)
