Railway tracks, simple immersion suggestion.
TacticalN29 replied to Radzaarty's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Pretty much like brake rodors. But yeah that would be kinda cool if they added that. I don't think it would be too hard. -
I would say yes. But I haven't seen any gameplay that employed stealth, nor have I heard it really talked about by the devs.
-
Leveling up a shooting skill (i.e. practice) can make you a faster reloader or help you be more accurate. But it doesn't magically reduce recoil.
-
I wouldn't really know as I'm not a programmer or anything like that. I know it involves a lot of work though.
-
Well they did "switch" to the ToH engine. But they then proceeded to basically gut it and rebuild it from the ground specifically for DayZ.
-
They aren't going to switch to the ARMA 3 engine... They spent months working on the engine for DayZ. It would be a huge waste of time, effort, and money to switch to the ARMA 3 engine. Can't you just wait until an official date is announced? Sure it might be fun to guess. I think people have gotten used to CoD too much. If the game doesn't come out at the same time every year the world might end. A little uncertainty isn't going to kill you. The longer it spends in development before release the better it will be.
-
It was also playable at E3... It means nothing that it will be playable at Gamecom. Why would they release a game before Gamescom that they are publicizing will be playable at Gamescom. It wouldn't even make sense to bring it to Gamescom as a playable game if it's already released.
-
I'm think that pretty well sums it up!
-
There is also Tannerite which, from does actually explode. Now Tannerite is actually the original company that made the "exploding targets". There have been many copies, but everyone kinda just calls it Tannerite. From what I understand it's fairly easy to make, but I don't think it has too large of an explosion. Unless you have a lot of course.

GTX 760 - PSU Needs
TacticalN29 replied to patrick_insanity@hotmail.com's topic in Technology/Programming
Well yeah basically this. But I did one on the Newegg link with the highest GPU they had (which was only the GTX 690 for some reason) and the rest was mostly average stuff. Four gigs of RAM, one hard drive etc. Their recommended PSU wattage is 665. Now I don't know all your specs so you could need more or you could get away with less depending on what you have. -

Well by his post it doesn't sound like he's too familiar with computer tech and hardware, so that one might be a bit in depth. -

http://images10.newegg.com/BizIntell/tool/psucalc/index.html?name=Power-Supply-Wattage-Calculator Use this tool. You put in your computer components etc., and it will tell you the minimum wattage your power supply should be. If you don't know your hardware specs you can go here ---> http://www.cpuid.com/softwares.html and download CPU Z. This will tell you what processor you have, how much RAM you have, etc. -
If the Military uses incendiary grenades at all, I'm pretty sure they use white phosphorus. But yeah I was surprised when I first saw it, but I guess it's not all that dangerous. Considering you can make a huge bomb out of fertilizer (obviously you will need something other than fertilizer but yeah). So I checked it out and apparently using incendiary weapons against enemy personnel is against some international war laws or something. They still use it for other things, but apparently not as grenades.

No one knows a release date. The dev team probably has a good idea when they will release, but they haven't shared it yet. However it was stated that they are doing an internal review of the game progress and will be releasing the results of that review in the next devblog. Whether there will be a release date in it or not we don't know.
-
You do realize that the word alpha means the beginning etc. The point of the alpha is to have play testing. Which is generally done internally. An alpha is ALWAYS early in the development cycle of a game. Not many games allow the public to play during alpha. If the game wasn't early in development it would be a beta or a full game.
-
Actually I was very surprised to see this, but I saw at a gun show (in the U.S.) what was at least labeled as thermite. I didn't really think it would be legal, but apparently it is. That could be used against vehicles and a molotov (which are very easy to make by the way) could be anti-personnel.
-
Right...... Because I guess you are like Yoda or something and can predict the future? ;)
-
Perhaps, perhaps not. We'll just have to wait and find out. We should find out the results of the internal review in the next devblog I believe. Doesn't mean they will be giving a release date though.
-
I believe they are doing the internal review right now to see how it looks. If I'm not mistaken (trying not to get your hopes up) if it goes well and no major bugs come up, it will probably release soon.

What guns would you like to see in SA?
TacticalN29 replied to WBK's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I would imagine a legitimate Sten would be as rare and expensive as a fully automatic WWII Thompson. And I've seen one of those at a gun show for $20,000. -

I actually would kind of be surprised if that doesn't make it in at some point. We could really in depths and start putting in variants of rifles. Like the Mosin M44 along with the 91/30. I know Lee has different models as does Mauser. -
I think VAC hits a bit harder. If I'm not mistaken doesn't it ban you from all Valve game multiplayer servers running VAC?

Here is a crazy idea, what if there was no weapon attachments?
TacticalN29 replied to Lady Kyrah's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Yeah and resources don't respawn in the real apocalypse either. And we don't really know how long the zombies have been around in DayZ. It really could only have been weeks since the outbreak. Or months or years. They never said. -
More antiquated yet effective weapons.
TacticalN29 replied to BookBurning's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I think scubaman said (if I'm interpreting correctly) is that there will be about 50% "western" weapons and 50% Russian or otherwise. He can correct me if he wants to. Plus I think that all weapons and ammunition should be more rare than in the mod. -

TacticalN29 replied to BookBurning's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
All you need to have "western" weapons is to say that they asked for the U.S. or another western country's help when the outbreak occurred. And then they all died.
