If you kept up with the standalone news at all Rocket has talked about underground base building and adding more maps EVE style. He never said he was going to do the EVE style thing but he said he was interested in doing it I believe. -
I would love to see the 91/30 as I have shot one in real life. They should also add the M44 which is a carbine type version (overall it's shorter).

Ah. Well things change. He had said before that there would be more, but according to that (and other things I've read) there will be weekly updates. So I would think that we would be back up to the amount of weapons that are currently in the mod in no time.

This is true. But considering most average civilians have never shot a firearm, much less had weapons training it's slightly irrelevant considering the character you play in Dayz is supposed to be (at least to my knowledge) an average civilian. However I have hit targets at 25 yards with no formal training and minimal experience with actually shooting firearms (this was a handgun and of course it was a stationary target). You could shoot someone with one shot from a .500S&W and not kill them. But you could also shoot someone with a .22lr and kill them in one shot. It's all about shot placement. -

I think they should try to make damage as realistic as possible based on caliber. Obviously a .45 has more stopping power than a 9mm. 9mm (9x19) and the Makarov (9x18) should be very similar. Obviously rifle rounds deal more damage than pistol rounds. I guarantee you in real life if someone isn't wearing body armor 9 times out of 10 a round from a 5.56 NATO would at least incapacitate if not kill its target. Most AK's use the 7.62x39 round which is quite bigger. They could try to make it that body shots and headshots are usually one shot kills, but leg shots would only break the leg. Basically take the damage of each caliber from real life and implement it into the game. This is after all a survival game based on a military simulation engine. -
I believe this has already been mentioned as a possibility. Nevertheless Rocket has said there will be tons of new gear and weapons when the standalone releases.

This is true. But I've never heard anyone else say that 9mm has more stopping power than 5.7x28. Although I'm sure a JHP 9mm would. -

To my understanding it's something like that. Well the it literally is pellets (not bullets) that spread and yes they can kill you. As for the 5.7x28. It's only used in two firearms: the FN Five Seven and the FN P90. The Five Seven was designed to pierce metal and body armor. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/ae/Many_bullets.jpg Starting on the left is 9mm parabellum, then 40S&W, then .45ACP, then 5.7x28. So it is definitely a larger round than 9mm. It is 5.7x28mm. The NATO rifle cartridge is 5.56x45mm. Also SMG does not mean it fires subsonic rounds. Anything can fire subsonic rounds. SMG basically means a select fire rifle with a very short barrel. Such as the MP5, Kriss Vector SMG, UMP45, etc. -

To my understanding Rocket really has nothing to do with developing the mod. I believe it is developed by the community mostly. However the standalone will be much better than the mod. -

Don't worry the zombies will be much more difficult in the standalone. They will be able to run in buildings and they are fine tuning the pathing. -
To my understanding SSD only speed up the boot up process of whatever programs are on it. If you want higher FPS in a game than I personally would go with the GPU.

Well I hate to tell you, but the American government is EXTREMELY corrupt. It's so corrupt that if everything were to come out that they've done people would probably not believe it. And yes, I live in America. No, I'm not saying I hate America. I love America. The government of America is not America however.

I know that. I'm one of them. I'm not really talking about Dayz but games in general. Even if they were developed by companies not from America they usually take place in America. That's because Americans make up the majority of gamers. And so the game companies put it in America hoping that more Americans will buy it. I'm not saying making the game take place in America will make more Americans buy it, I'm saying that's what the game companies want.

This is true, but the fact still stands that with the optimization they will be able to add more zombies. If I'm not mistaken they've already talked about having the zombies spawn at the start of the server and never despawning. -
Again, I never said pander to Americans. I'm just stating facts. How many people bought the Czech Republic expansion? Probably not many.

Actually that's not true. If you read the dev blog updates at all, they basically said they have no limit as to how many players can be on the map at once due to optimization. I'm pretty sure that would transfer to zombies as well. -
I'm not saying that. I'm just saying that since most gamers live in America that's where the money lies. I know that ARMA is made by a Czech company, but if you've ever actually played ARMA their campaigns are always U.S. troops like Force Recon as in the original ARMA 2 campaign. They are obviously pandering to U.S. buyers. I mean how many people in the U.S. would want to play a game where you play Czech troops? Probably not many.
