Did you join a different server almost immediately after disconnecting from the one that was stuck @ loading? I agree that it doesn't qualify as hopping. If this is indeed a "feature" than like any freshly introduced feature it will need fine-tuning so as to distinguish between genuine server hopping and just leaving a server and joining another for reasons other than that. It may not be possible, given that it's probably a simple timer that activates if you leave one server and join another too quickly. But of course this is all purely speculation on my part. It may in fact be a bug. But Rocket did mention that there were some "undocumented lulz" in the latest hotfix. Maybe he can clear this up.

The DayZ world is a complete wreck......
adversity replied to killingwillum's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
They might want to look up 'irony' while they're at it... I think 'ironic/irony' is probably the most misused word EVAR. Just a little pet-peeve of mine, everyone can get back to raging now :D -
I'm thinking that this is part of the "undocumented lulz" Rocket mentioned. Could be that this is in fact punishment for hopping/disconnecting. Because that's the only time this "bug" has happened to me. But there are too many variables (with a recent A2 beta patch, and a recent DZ hotfix) to be positive. But if you think about it, it does curb server hopping. The two times this has happened to me both times I spawned on the coast @ Kamenka, which is probably the worst spawn in the game. If your goal was to go to an area with good loot, get said loot, then disconnect and join another server and do it again, spawning down @ Kamenka will discourage that real quick.

Alot of times if you're stuck @ loading you need to update, either ARMA2 or DayZ. A new ARMA2 beta patch (1.62.95883) was released just a few days ago, quite a bit of servers are running it. I was having this problem yesterday, but it was because I had updated to 1.7.2.5, but then I ran SixLauncher and it downgraded me back to 1.7.2.4. Once I copied back over the 1.7.2.5 files I was back in business and no longer stuck at loading.

I'd be willing to bet you're NOT: a ) a douchebag in real life b ) a person with lots of anger and resentment in real life Some people have no other outlets to work out their issues, so they come online where they're not powerless! j/k... kinda... I'm still waiting to come across another player that I can team up with. So far everytime I see another survivor, I say "friendly" and then the guns get to clappin'. I think it'll be easier when I get my mic setup, but it'd still be nice to have someone to run around with.

Some people take their games WAY too seriously. I play to have fun, I'm not here to get an ego boost or feel better about myself. I don't get any sort of enjoyment out of giving other players a hard time, that's just me though  But no sense getting all enraged over what the OP does. Regardless of whatever his personal reasons are for getting satisfaction out of causing grief for others, he 's free to play as he sees fit and and in a way that gives him the most enjoyment. I do find it interesting though. I feel that it touches on a deeper issue of the way people interact with one another when anonymity, or lack of genuine person-to-person interaction is involved. But I'll give him one thing, he definitely makes the environment of an apocalypse all the more realistic lol. Pretty much a given that any sense of humanity and/or decency is thrown out the window when your survival is in question and we're reduced to our basic animal instincts. We actually had a discussion about online interaction in our psych class a few weeks back, quite alot of interesting stuff about why people do the things they do online (games, forums, etc). Not really targeted at the OP, but I'm seeing it from some others in this thread and the forums in general, but I always find it hilarious when someone starts stroking their own ego and go on about how badass they are in a videogame. I mean what are we really talking about here? You move a mouse more precisely than someone else, or have a tactical advantage in exploiting the weaknesses in game more often than actual "tactical skill". At the end of the day who gives a shit, really? Anyway, just my blabbing. Carry on.

There's a changelog included with the HotFix. But it's the same list that's in the first post.
-
If nothing was mentioned about the tents, I think it's safe to assume nothing was done to them. It's a HotFix (mostly for the Graphics glitch that made it unplayable), not a patch.

Fix for Graphics Glitches in 1.7.2.4
adversity replied to Ahniolator's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
One, it's posted in a few other posts in this thread. Two, just google DayZ anims v0.3. But it doesn't fix the problem anyway, so it doesn't matter much. I'm giving up on playing for right now as it's unbearable. I've been playing for roughly a week, I've gotten great gear built up FOUR times now, and then this happens and while I'm trying to run to find a good place to disconnect, I get knocked out by a zombie, or I break a leg, or get shot by a fellow survivor because I can't see a damn thing. Pretty frustrating. -
Fix for Graphics Glitches in 1.7.2.4
adversity replied to Ahniolator's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Originally thought it fixed the problem for me (using v0.3 anim files), however it didn't. Still heavy corruption, almost always seems to happen to me near the Hospital with the Barracks in Cherno -
"The game will be released in an Alpha build for a low price point"
adversity replied to despair (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Since this thread is kind of silly, I have a somewhat related question that has probably been asked (but searching doesn't help much). Will the stand-alone and Mod players be able to play together? I'm going to assume not since it's an updated engine, but at the same time it's also the same reason why it might work? -
Fix for Graphics Glitches in 1.7.2.4
adversity replied to Ahniolator's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Thanks for this, game was unplayable. Glitches got me killed I don't know how many times. Only problem though is that SixUpdater updates the files everytime I launch it. Read-Only doesn't solve it, just have to start SixLauncher, verify, let it update, then overwrite them.
