I see your point of use, but it would be to easy to exploit, for instance you could workaround not only tracking your position, but every ones position and since it is a stream, it could be realtime... I don't know your motives, but the negative uses are far greater than the positive ones. If you are a honest man then I do believe you would make a tracker that only tracks your position, but knowing most of the unskilled people who need hacks in order to survive, I am afraid that such an api won't come out anytime soon. Maybe when the full game (after beta) will become modifiable, maybe then you could write one for your own server? Although it would be nice if the devs would make it possible to track or draw your routes on the ingame map.

For the last two it would make sense if they where mags only. little bit faster reloading time.

DayZ Standalone Mosin camo, Leather sack and The Obrez
Mark Darkers replied to Biosensation's topic in Gallery
I dislike the burlap cammo for the mosen (even with grass). The grass is front under back, while it should overlap from back over to the front. Because now the burlap is white and is a clear beacon while standing in bushes or trees, thus losing its use. It is better to spray cammo the mosen for the moment in my opinion. -
I have ghosting terrain when I set rendering reso to 100%
Mark Darkers replied to RAM-bo4250's topic in Troubleshooting
I am not to familiar with nvidea's gtx series. I myself have an saphire (radeon) R9 290 4G vram. But I have seen more people with your problem and it was either the video card could not process all the render data, even despite having enough vram (2gig should be enough as DayZ cannot use more at the moment) or the card did not get enough power from the psu. -
Besides the orchestra music, I think this is the type of dark nights DayZ should have, since latest patches night has become very easy (gray) in color, which takes away all the tension. Also notice the point on the staircase where you can get cornered by a horde who followed you. You did not seem them because it was dark. Multiple shots (unless it is a headsot) to kill standard type infected. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=MAIA9UTAaxs#t=1268

the dead will never turn into zombies, as it is a viral infection, it needs living hosts to infect.

yea the reason he has those problem I think is because of lacking VRAM or render speed. -
I totally agree

ability to identify wounds on a dead body?
Mark Darkers replied to d.walker43's topic in Suggestions
I like this idea very much, although for non medical people not all wounds would be so easy to identify. -
Yes, I am for everything that would add atmosphere and ambiance to emerge the player! Every location would have a little story by just looking at the dead people. Also it would make Chernarus look less artificial. The rendering and towns/locations are good, but because there is no sign of life (past life) except for the players, it makes it all feel a little artificial. Also the hanging dead body's could be randomly spawned in forest, you know like a chopper crash but with more common loot. It would be a lucky (for the player) find for food or other stuff the body's have on them.

I have ghosting terrain when I set rendering reso to 100%
Mark Darkers replied to RAM-bo4250's topic in Troubleshooting
Set it to 200%, if you have a decent card you won't notice much difference in render speed. Also a screenshot and hardware information would help to pinpoint your problem, it could be a driver problem. -
A defb is used to regulate a heartbeat when it is irregular, an irregular heartbeat is deadly. So you are wrong, it is only used on people who are alive (not clinically dead). If you have bullets trough your guts or lungs or die of bleeding out, no defib will help you and those are the only ways you die in dayz, starvation, bleeding out, getting shot to death, falling to your death. A defib will help if you are going to die of shock (irregular heartbeat/heartbeat has long pauses in which it looks like it stopped). And defibbing a healthy person will kill them yes, because it will have a reverse effect of above. Do I think the devs should ignore this realism and make defibs revive dead people? Yes I do, for these reasons: defbis will finally be used by players, because now the occasion to use them is very rare, it will become a vital equipment to carry in a squad and worth it, because you can revive your squad mates. Sometimes a little bit of realism needs to be dropped for playabillity and gameplay. After all, to much realism is useless if the hardware to control it is not capable of it (keyboard/mouse) so we have to cater a little bit to that.

Adding a brand new U.S Army Military base
Mark Darkers replied to chainsawdude45's topic in Suggestions
not anymore, m4 now shoots a very tight group and since the ak 101 mags spawn at the same rate as akm mags, ammo is not that hard to combine. chances of finding a sks ammo box at the airfield is as big as finding the akm mag. -
Rule 1 of Dayz: NEVER thrust any one, with the exception of people you already know. Rule 2: Do not get attached to your character or gear, you will die eventually. Rule 3: People who say they are friendly are 95% of the time lying (refer to rule 1).

I don't get it.

Right there! You already explained the black screen yourself, why the long question?

well keep in mind, for compensation of the grass not drawing at certain distances, the ground texture gets leveled upwards, this means when a player goes prone only 1/3 of his body mass will be visible. If you don't have a backpack, most of the times players won't be able to spot you.

In my opinion sniping is an art. Being unseen with good camouflage + taking a long distance shot (with arma's bullet physics) is very hard and requires quite some skill, especially when wind is going to be added in the future. Also shooting some one in the face means you give them a chance to respond, so why shoot before you let them speak? Being stealthy is what you need to survive the longest.

This is already being a confirmed thing, the player will be able to craft a ghillie suit with burlap and (unconfirmed) kindling. same goes for the weapon ghillie camo. you can find these on Dayz.tv showcase

1: Have you ever tried running while looking down an actual scope? you won't see a thing because the lens will be off focus (the light hitting your iris that is). 2:Shaking is already depending on how tired your character is from running. 3:Again something to try yourself with a 5-7 kg weapon in aiming towards the front and not losing your balance. 4:Besides wasting allot of ammo, because it will fly everywhere but your target, what use would it have? 5: fight in a manner different from CoD... by making it more CoD? please explain this one.

Roaming hordes are already confirmed

increase your object detail to highest, it will draw objects up to 2 km in game, keep in mind that this will greatly drop your fps as triple the amount of trees and items will be rendered. with a decent card you will get 40 fps in forests and around 25-30 in towns. If your card is not that great, keep it the way it is now.
-
what is it with every one and crossfire/sli? A single storng card will do more benefit than a crossfire setup and also spare half the money. http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/205509-crossfire-or-sli/

It is better to have a video card that is powerfull enough by its own, than putting two together, most of the time it will even lower the average performance because everything has to be divided by the two cards and then re-combined. The ati R9 290 does a very good job running dayz on max settings.

Options to identify a body (Hide playername when checking pulse on Hardcore)
Mark Darkers replied to kll4's topic in Suggestions
I disagree with you (again i guess). Think about it, in reality, if some one refuses to tell his/hers name, what do you do?(of course when in a power position). You check their body's for information to tell them, wristbands with names, ID cards, anything... Since none of those are implemented, checking blood could act as a double for checking the body (as for now). And who knows, maybe every single character in dayz has their name tattooed on their arms/wrists, that is a pretty common thing.
