There is already bleeding on the point of impact, I think adding scratches and bruises on those spots, (since it will be dynamic) will be a big overload to the sever. Because it has to keep track of every wound on every player.

Yes, if I am correct, as soon as you place an item it will be market as "trash" and if not used will degrade over time, so as long as some one is using it, everything should be fine. -

Well every dead body will get flies after an amount of time, so maybe they could add different amount of flies the longer a player is dead, so players could guess how long the body has been deceased?

Indeed, also it was an instant hearth rate pump! You know there was danger, even worse, you did not knew whether the danger was close or not. For me it was walking on my tones as soon as I heard the flies. Now in the standalone, I still get a little paranoid when I see a dead body, but the flies gave way more build up, way more tension, because you could hear them, coming closer and closer, not yet knowing where the body was.

I really don't get why every one is nagging for an auto run key? Are you really that lazy? If you wan't to get something, put some effort in to it. Or do you also want the map to be only 20x20 meters and that every one spawns with their full gear after death? -
How to set default character to random

Well your character is randomized every time before you finally set up a default character. I don't get why they haven't created a button to switch between those two modes. -

No, the wipe will be before the release of 0.49 at the end of 0.48. They wan't a clean data base when the new 0.49 item system is in.

You seem to forget that zeds are "in development". It is a desync bug that slipped in with the new AI system, they are already working on that and it should be fixed in 0.49. When did you write a complex piece of code and got it working seamlessly on the first run? Never? Ok, then let them work :) -
This also happens in the fire station. It happens when on the server side, the collision mismatches, thus the server thinks you are below the floor and you fall to your death, yet on the client everything seems ok, until the server fires the (what he thinks death) to your client and you die, it is a wel known bug and should be fixed in upcoming 0.49

That is because you are out of breath. 2 tips: for a steady aim atm there is a little glitch, walk forward and you will be dead on. When you are not out of breath, assign the hold breath key to two buttons, press them both at once and you will hold your breath twice and the cross hair will stay fairly stable.

When me and my friends where chopping some trees for firewood, I noticed that most of tree was underground, only the branches showed above ground. This gave the impression of a denser piece of forest. Now my idea how to utilize this. DayZ's engine (arma's engine to) uses a batching process to save video memory. This is a way of cloning a model multiple times, this means the video card only has to draw the model once and then it simply gets cloned on given posistions, this is the reason why such big forests are possible in DayZ. Adding new vegetation would increase the draw calls. But what if the devs simply had the same trees, which are already batched, spawn lower to the ground, you wouldn't notice the difference on ground, because you can't see the trunk itself, this also means a more dense forest could be created (doesn't need to be every where), with the same tree models, thus taking the advantage of drawcall batching process and saving allot of video memory for other stuff.

Indeed, that is an open forest, but then they should use more vibrant greens, instead of the grayish browns.

Well I died because a bugged grenade exploded without an explosion 15 min after throwing. I clicked respawn, spawned in with a role back 200 meters back :D Had everything and was A.O.K

The only skill they prove to me by hacking, is lacking the skill to survive in the game at all. They think DayZ is to easy, but those are the people who die because they never learnt how to hide and play tactically, they have always been spoon fed by exploits and hacks. I still call them script kiddy's and not hackers, because 85% doesn't even really hack, they just download or buy the freaking scripts, they don't do shit to find exploits or any sort. They just install that and think they are super mega hackers who could take down the world and out hack annonymous. And I also don't really get why some one would pay 25$ (same price as the game if I recall) for a piece of software who could get you banned on all Bohemia multiplayer games? Because lets face it eventually every one who hacks gets banned sometime or another. So basically you would pay 25$ to throw away another 100? -

Well, hacking sucks don't get me wrong there, I am all against it, but honestly, I hope they hack the shit out of the alpha version, the more and the sooner they hack/find exploits, the sooner the dev's can fix those holes for the final release. Every exploit they miss now will be pain in the final build. -
Everything gets whiped, this is to clear any duping possibility's and track new dupes / hacks down. Remember rule number 2 :): never get attached to your gear, especially during an alpha / beta which are prone to resets.

the rule only went active couple of weeks ago, so you should be good. Although I must agree with the other comments. If your key was stolen you should be asking how did this happen, because if it is unintentional, you should check your PC for keyloggers or spyware.

That is the thing, the current render engine does not render anything below surface level, remember that this was one of the reasons real-time underground bases are not possible yet. I'm just thinking in the current way the engine works. But your idea of cutting of the top or create a bigger dense model and batch that all over the place, could work verry well with the new renderer and even save more render time than its current state! Another thing that came to my mind, why don't they just upscale the ferns? I see some of them and they also grow in forest near my home, only thing is that they are about 20x bigger then represented in chernarus.

If your ban was before the new rule, then you should be able to play dayz, every ban before the new rule is game specific and not battle eye global.

I think you miss understand my reply. I was refirring to the OP stating that players should have there would be a masked vision displayed around the screen in first person servers. The way I interpret his post was that this was something always there, even without a mask. Hence my reply how about the players not wearing masks, it would not make any sense to have a masked view without actually wearing one.. I was not referring to wearing as many mask as possible at all. Next time read back a little bit:)

Battle eye bans since a while ago carry over to every Bohemia game that runs battle eye. But the way you said "key" stolen, its an old story already done by many hackers who got banned. They wan't to take the risk of cheating hacking on online servers, but don't want to pay the price in the end. Yet the solution is very simple, play the game how it was meant to be played and don't ruin it for others.
