Although DayZ is very un-optimized (keep that in mind), you will get a few fps more out of it, especially outside of city area's, as most of people know, the VR engine (on witch Dayz's engine is based) is very cpu intensive.

Don't you know the new feature on the loading screen, it shows what the server really has enabled, it can't be altered by admins, so if there is no persistence in that features list (on top of loading screen) then the server does not have persistence. It is because of false naming like most servers do, that this feature got implemented.

Sorry, but this is just one big block of text that repels from being read. Maybe you should cut up your text in blocks, that way it will be more readable and seems for readers to be less of a drag.

Best bet is to either assing more cpu cores to the software recording, witch could have a reversed effect since dayz uses the cpu allot or lowering down the resolution / recording frame rate of your software.

The zeds are everything but dead. The infection virus is an actual virus that needs a living body as a host, the side effects of the virus is messing up the brain, thus making very hostile infected people. As soon as an important body function ceased to work, the body's dies and so does the virus in that host.

Out of all the randoms deaths that could've happened.

deal with it and move on, whining here isn't going to magically restore your character. Rule number 2 don't get attached to your gear or character, especially during the alpha stage as character resets(whether due to server crash or dev reset) are bound to happen. -

Stealth & Camouflage aka becoming a DayZ Ninja
Mark Darkers replied to ep_metheus's topic in Gallery
Well you where pretty much in the open. And from the "other player's perspective" part, they have actually a hard time spotting you, as compensation for the reduced foilage, the ground texture gets rendered a little higher, if you lay down still without a backpack and don't move, your complete body disappears in the ground (tested this with my friends) and with a backpack you will look similar to a rock (when not moving. -
It is a bug on spawning, it has been there for a while. Didn't you notice your energy and hydration also where maxed?
-
That would probably an offset problem. This happens when they don't zero out the model when finished.
-
It is probably an export mistake, during modeling of object in programs such as maya, sometimes when extruding surfaces, the face normals get flipped, this can happen anytime and is very easy to miss.

To the dude at airfield tent city up there....
Mark Darkers replied to Parazight's topic in New Player Discussion
That can be true, but anybody coming across you can't read your minds :), so it is better to be safe than sorry, that is what i was trying to say. And I am not trying to narrow my view to others (that is very narrow minded of you to assume that), I simply stated my opinion, whether people follow that or not is their choice. -

You already answered your qeustion before you even asked it. You where on a location where you only go to find loot that kills people, when I see some one possibly armed in a military grade building, it would be stupid of me to risk getting killed. Even if you are further away, the chance of coming acros you and you shooting me is to big. I think those guy's had the same reasoning. You can try being friendly in less high loot/ risk areas, but on the airfield/military, either hide or kill. -
Never happened in the standalone, if a friend is in front of you simply lower your gun or even better never aim at your friends or pull the trigger when they are inside the bullet range.
-
Well one of the reason the top gear is so common, is purely testing. It won't bet hat way in the final build. How else are they going to know of their item's are going to work properly if only 1/10 000 player's find them. You keep using the word 'game', but it is far from being a game, it is a development build in which we participate and every update we get to see a new development build of DayZ, not DayZ itself.

Third Person View should be Over-the-Shoulder, NOT a bird's eye view.
Mark Darkers replied to Rags!'s topic in General Discussion
I understand you, I actually meant the same thing, only with a poor choice of words as I see now. But you are completely correct. -

But as stated before by the devs, if you are looking for a casual game, this is not the thingf or you.... I already think they made it allot easier because of the mass of new players that game with the standalone... -
I think this one belongs in the mod gallery?

Wierd graphics bug when joining a server.
Mark Darkers replied to Vic Rattlehead's topic in Troubleshooting
Seems like you have some corrupt mesh/data files, let steam to a cache check and repair the damaged files. You didn't try to modify any models/ mesh files yourself to have an advantage over players did you? Or for that matter try to tweak / switch files for hacked files? Because that could also mesh up your game. After uninstalling, did you do a register clean up (CCleaner for example)? To clean up any left over register data from dayz. -
instant knock out on zeds on first hit, second hit is dead (stun baton).
-
Haha, when it was still possible to alt f4 in the mod, 80% of the people losing fire fights or getting shot combat logged:p
-
The mod already has this feature. I wonder why they haven't implemented this in the standalone yet? I don't think it is that hard to make a combat detection. Just like in the mod, shots close to you or zombie, combat timer of one minute, after that 30 sec log out time.

first problem can be solved by binding the most important gestures to a custom key. As for the phrase, you can use your microphone and use your real voice, I don't see why that would be a problem in the first place. People over use the word koSed to much lately, most of them die because of bad thinking before encountering people, or by drinking while in an open field. It is called getting shot, learn from it, don't make the same mistake twice and prevent getting killed in the future. The whole "koSed" thing could be solved by just logic thinking based on the situation.

Rocket has said in one of the early def blogs that the only form of "special" infected, would be a form of degradation of the body (broken legs, broken neck) etc. But nothing with super powers like in l4d that would never become part of the game. He also stated that if you really find the need to fight a special infected, you should play a game that is catered to that.
-
because they are not zombies :p, but rather rage infected people, Rocket once mentioned the infection is quite similar to the one in 28 days later. It is a virus that infects the brain and make people go nuts. For an unknown reason the survivors are immune to this. What can kill you though with the current mechanics, is indeed that you would get a bacterial infection from the guts and die of that.
