How are we unofficially going to call this type zed
Mark Darkers replied to basinox's topic in General Discussion
Been calling them Hoppers since the mod, will be calling the hoppers forever, I am so glad they returned. Totally freaked out when this sneaky bastard jumped at me from a bush. -
I just assume the weapons come with slings, the melee is kinda weird but it doesn't botter me.
-
We have found multiple easy, but keep in mind, people (like me and my friends) close the doors of every building and cars, so people who would follow behind us lose their time checking everything and thus reducing the change of crossing paths. Some one else probably already found the gun and returned everything as it was and left. We have found around 3 on one server (we did travel to every police station), but you should be able to find one if you do your best;

Well, deciding to "do" pvp is not a very survival mentality :p you won't last a week that way.

Gun movement is not synchronized with crosshair...
Mark Darkers replied to Sputnik (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
The gun lagging behind is a feature, for instance m4 with plastic parts is lighter and will lag less behind then a full metal m4, Akm is heavyer than the mp5 so akm will lag behind, mp5 light cqb weapon so it will almost stay spot on. It is the weapons weight that influences the drag. Does this answer your question? -
I have found it! The long lost water pump god, he lives in the middle of nowhere, all hail the water pump! I asked it a question, should I drink from the? It was silent. The pump has spoken!

What do you think the new zombie AI will be like?
Mark Darkers replied to Agilov's topic in Suggestions
You would have to look on dayz tv, if I recall correctly it was in one of the interviews with rocket there. (pax or somewhere?) Its an older video before the alpha was released, would take very long to find it since I don't know the name of the video, ofcourse I understand that the credibility of this claim lowers as I do not have the video evidence. check the Q&A vids. -
Crawling zombies jump up ladders, others open doors.
Mark Darkers replied to UltimateGentleman's topic in Suggestions
This was actually the case in the mod, a stealth mechanic was active that you could crawl past zombies, if you shot a few blocks would be alerted and because of the zeds being modified arma 2 AI they could climb ladders, it really brings up the tension I can tell you that. you have my beans. -
Well the idea is not bad, but think about this. What if you have 5 slots with pristine gear, then you are back to the mod issue, you don't want to lose any of it. Secondly it will encourage douche bags, They will have one main character to keep their good stuff, and another to yolo it and kill people for no good reason, because now they have a backup.

Also keep in mind that slugs are going to be added to, those are long range beasts!

What do you think the new zombie AI will be like?
Mark Darkers replied to Agilov's topic in Suggestions
If they would be zombies it would make sense, but as I have stated in other quotes here. They never died, people got infected with a virus and their brain changed, rocket confirmed that 28 days later comes the closest to Dayz. The reason why survivors do not get infected is because of some mysterious reason they are immune, wich will be covered in the added story line later on. -

You are right, they will never be headshot only, Dean Hall even confirmed that the Z'ds from 28 day's later are the most similar to the ones in DayZ, the people never died, they became infected, it messed with their brain and they have gone haiwire. The reason the Z'ds die is because if we shoot any vital organs like lungs, liver, major damage to the intestines, etc.. The body will cease functioning and thus the infected dies, just like a human would, because they are not dead. -

Mark Darkers replied to Agilov's topic in Suggestions
They are not undead, so technically they are not zombies, altough every one calls them that. They are what you suggested, living people who got an infection, it made them crazy, Dean Hall said that the creatures from 28 day's later come the closest to the ones in Dayz. -
I can't find it either but it used this picture, This is the stance system of arma 3. It uses Z X C just like DayZ for the default stanced but with control + (move)up or (move) down you could change between more advanced positions, very good in use and very dynamic!

GPU: Radeon HD 6870, 6gigs of DDR3 ram clocked around 2394Mhz (factory clock),CPU: Intel core i7 870 @2.93Ghz (factory clock) but an i5 would do the same, I have an i7 because of work reasons, rendering and other stuff. Edit: you can probably build a better pc now for a cheaper price, if you know what parts you need. A friend of mine build one which runs Dayz on highest settings 1920x1080 at 60 to 80 fps for around 800 euro's.
-
If I only knew the grid ref, I was completely lost, I can only guess it was a field in the north west, but after a while I ended up completely west in the debug.
-
Its a gaming pc I bought 4 years ago, only had to change the video card in this baby. about 1200 euro if you count the screen my desk and chair with it. I run at full 1920x1080p everything on high, post processing effects dissabled (they slow down to much for the result they give) and terrain on normal. run around 40 to 50 fps outside towns, drops to 23 in towns.
-
Nope, its not completely north west, and different location as the town was.
-
Nope, you left the wrong area, its not there, that pump is next to a forest/ tree line, this godly pump is in the middle of a giant field
-
Yes in all its glory!

How can you be confused? The play button auto connects you to the last server played, as soon as you pres the escape button while still loading in to the server, it will cancel, and bring you back to the main menu, thus saving you time. None of the other online games have this function and you have to wait out the complete load to reconnect.

They have made their own engine, it is called Enfusion. Because they came to a point that their engines source could did not look anything like the original (ToH) engine code at all. And now that they are implementing a new render engine from another engine Bohemia purchased, the engine is officially a beast of itself, Enfusion. So I really hope they upgrade their sound engine with it to.

This is just a quote from another topic i made in the Gallery, because I think this part fits in the suggestions area pretty well. ""I want to point out is the importance of good map design and environmental exploration, in this part of the map the devs have done a wonderful job in my opinion, it would be nice to see this on more parts of the map. It would be a great addition to the map if there would be large caves, in this video I just walked trough a very small one, few meters, but having larger parts of the mountain explore-able would be amazing, it would feel adventurous. Edit: I forgot to mention, the importance of ambient music, it can really influence the mood of an area and also influence to behavior of players. Maybe we don't have music out of no where in real life, but for immersion it can be a big deal."" The original post can be found here

hunger, thirsty, healty and a new for PSYCHE = moral
Mark Darkers replied to jgbtl292's topic in Suggestions
It may be stupid, but I believe he took a good thought in it before posting this. Also the idea itself is not that stupid at all, it just needs a little work, some sort of mental health would be a good feature in dayz, it only should depend on other or more factors than just killing players. Did you think about those other possibilities the ideas could have before posthing a simple "no"? I don't think so. -
Well I do think there is a need for more good non lethal or non military items. I for one would from time to time, like to just go into the forest, not risk my life, but live as a scavanger in Dayz, I do this now, but I always need military grade gear to store all the survival stuff I need in the forest. I think rocket should take al ook on his travel to mt. Everest, they had lots of gear with them, large backpacks and simply traveling gear. If they add these kind of things to the game, a whole different playstyle would be possible. It would also be neat if you could get most of your gear by hunting animals, like the Large leather backpack you can craft now, make some nice deer plet coat and stuff. Would look awesome, survivalish and you can stay alive in another way.
