yea, just make sure that trough steam's settings, you setup a second game folder which is located on your ssd, the next time you install a game you can choose between the default and the custom folder.

Well you can ignore all those join= kick or delete messages, they can't do shit, it is just to scare you so that the admin and his hind riders have a free server with all loot to gear upon, because they are to weak and lack to much skill to do it in a populated server. Just join in, I always do and nothing ever happened to me. -

I agree, the crawling is done very well, realistic movemend, normal flat sneaking on belly, with shift= faster on the elbows. Also the run and gun is finally gone, you have to think before doing something. And its not that bad, you can always have a semi fast jog with the weapon raised and shift, you can even jog while ADS, if you want the run, simply lower the gun, I think they have put some good thinking in this new movement system and it really paid off. edit: Although for melee weapons, it kinda sucks, because running and shopping zeds with an axe is fun and convenient. Which is now not possible any more. -
Everything in time, improvised grenades are next.

I would have done the same. These are mostly the cases I or my squad fire a deadly shot: -The person walks with a raised weapon and gives no sign of communication (after we revealed our presence with voip). -The person shot first and does not seem to be surrendering. -The person is killing people with no gear (bambies) and has no profit by the killings/did not give them a surrender chance. -The person is to far away to hear us and is in a high risk/danger zone (crash sites, airfields). -The person say's i'm friendly be refuses to put his weapon away after we did (we always have over-watch so we can take that risk). All other cases the players mostly walk away unharmed. A few days ago we found a crash site, we saw a player, fire a warning shot, he kept coming closer, he only saw two of us, second warning shot was a leg hit. He started to run, we chased him down for 3 km with interval shooting so that he did not turn around, eventualy we surrounded him, he emptied his mag on me missed all, we told him he was not going to win this. He surrendered, dropped his gear, we took what we needed, I took his akm gave him the sks (as said before). Sks and ammo dropped apart from each other, gave some water and food in return for the ammo that we took and told him besides what happened have a nice day. We also warned him if he followed us to the crash site again, we would kill him without hesitation. He did not, so all well end well:) -
Is Controlled Spawn points still in the Road Map, any news?

Well finding your friends is an adventure itself, it doesn't realy bother me as we always meet up half way, so we find each other within 15 minutes tops. Rocket did not mention controlled spawn points, but rather if both you and your friend are dead, you would get a higher chance of spawning neir the same area (it detects your steam friends). It would only work when dead, not when both of you are alive. So if both of you are alive and on the other side of the map, you would still need to travel towards each other to meet up. (or in the future drive a car or bike, which would be massively faster.) -
If it is in early stage, throw up as fast as possible, best thing to do is overdrink, keep in mind you will lose a fair amounth of health doing so, so get yourself some food at hand. Also your hunger will be inmense after throwing up so if you don't have food, good chance you will starve. If it gets to a really food poisoning and throwing up is not helping, take charcoal tabs to neutralize to poison (normally in real life they force throwing up, but here to just fight the poison).

Listen don't freak out, if some one is unarmed, I will be the first one walk away. I play the game survival style and avoid combat as much as possible, I get into the woods as soon as I have all the survival gear that would be needed. There will always be people attack people for no reason, there fore I said that if you got hit in the head you did not scout good enough, you can't just expect anyone to be friendly. Secondly when I have someone at gunpoint 9/10 times I give them a chance to explain themselves, don't just assume that people are assholes because they share a different opinion than you. I agreed with the OP, but that does not mean that I stay in towns hunting bambis. I understand your point, but reading the rest of his post contradicts that, give him the benefit of the doubt, don't judge people with no evidence, keep it civil. Also for the record a bandit is some one who robs people, not kill them, those are murderers, why did that term change in the standalone? -

The problem about most people getting killed is that they forget what survival means, I try to avoid combat as much as possible and am mostly geared out together with my quad in about a hour or two, by planning routes, if we see people and they don't see us, mostly we won't even shoot, if we would, our position would be lost and you never now if other people are around, if they are to close and a risk, we will quickly plan and take them out. We mostly avoid big city's and travel around forest alot. Get in, get only what you need and get out. Think with your head, not with your trigger :) -
Improvised shield? of what material, the akm penetrates any metal that would be light enough to even carry around as a shield.

They should also remove the bullet spread as no weapon does this (except air rifles and such) and instead add recoil sway, that way the bullets spray the same but can be reduced by the player getting more used to the weapon, such as in arma 2 mod dayz, It would also bring back the ability to estimate bullet drop from distances, because now if you are aiming perfectly still with the right upward adjust for the bullet drop, you will miss because of the random spreading, at least with the m4, Akm does not have this problem with a pristine stock.

I think cholera and malaria are confirmed? Maybe only cholera, but malaria should be an option to, then again how many people would get it? what would be the percentage of risk? Malaria mosquito's are detected in Europe this summer (the made the cross over seas in a big swarm), but change of infection are little to none here in the west. Also keep in mind Chernarus as it is now is set in the fall, most mosquito's are dead then.

This could be explosives in the distance, grenades, gas stations. The further away the lower the bass and thus mostly only hear able with headsets or very good speakers. Also keep in mind that some sound effects are quickly recorded, not edited or filtered and that some background noise of the person recording them (ambient or others) might be caught up by the mic and make it in the the quick sound release.

Absolutely, my group and I always clear and scout areas before looting or even entering them, we always have people on guard before we go inside any house. But onetime, we got a little bit to enthusiastic, thought no one ever comes in this area, went for a quick loot and all went in an office, we came outside and since we had no guard, we did not knew someone sneaked up for an ambush, we all died of a single person, not because he is a dirty bandit, but because we got soft and let our guard down, thus learning not to make that mistake again. -

Well i must dissagree with you here, if you got hit in the back of your head you did two things wrong, not check/scout the area good enough and assuming you where alone. The OP has a very good point, after all it is survival of the fittest. -

I will even add (I'm with you on this). That first person does learn you more valuable skills, you will have to actualy learn how to look, how to be tactical, you don't have the safeguard of pre-checking everything, playing in a group gives the advantage of overwatch and that person must be your 3rd person view basically. Also how can UltimateGentleman say Dayz is not setup properly to fit first person view? It is based of the systems used by arma, witch are build around both views. -

The pasing is allot slower, you are much more on the tips of your toes, mostly because you have to actually look around realy good. You can't look over walls are pre-peak around corners without exposing yourself, it is quite worth the ride to be honest. -
well exploiting with gamma is in both night modes an advantage anyway :). Don't worry they are just experimenting playabality, I find the new night mode very playable, did not had the urge to turn up gamma. But then again it makes flashlights and others useless, it has its pro's and con's, they eventually work out something to comprises something we all like.

Well for gameplay reasons, it would be smart to learn yourself use wasd, Dayz and other arma games will use allot of functions, and the amount of buttons around the arrow keys are either limited or further apart to being used properly, with wasd you can assign allot of functions round those buttons for easy and fast acces, this goes for all games. Except if you must (left handed as suggested) in that case maybe purchase a gaming pad These are uni-handed and have the same button layout as the wasd + easy configurable with hotkeys and more.

Maybe you could sort out your post?(op) Highlight (bold text) the suggestions and ad a " : " sign after them, then put your explaination, it makes it easyer to read. example: suggestion 1: explanation suggestion 2: explanation Because people are not tend to read a wall of text. This way they scroll to sections of their interest and anticipate on that.

Well you know, there always be dickheads, but you got him for it! But I don't get that why sinds the standalone "murderers" are called bandits, bandits rob people, forcfully trade stuff, but mostly don't kill. Murderers do. When I need food and I can't find it, I overwelm players with my squad, rob them, mostly replacing stuff, for instance I take the akm, but give them an sks (further away from the player to take after we leave). Of-course sometimes, when they run away, a deadly shot will be fire, but I always give them a chance to surrender in most cases. But don't let your game get ruined by the minority of assholes, after all "quote from team america": We're dicks! We're reckless, arrogant, stupid dicks. Pussies don't like dicks because pussies get fucked by dicks. But dicks also fuck assholes. Assholes that just want to shit on everything. Pussies may think they can deal with assholes their way. But the only thing that can fuck a asshole is a dick, with some balls. The problem with dicks is they fuck too much or fuck when it isn't appropriate. And it takes a pussy to show them that. But sometimes pussies can be so full of shit that they become assholes themselves. Because pussies are a inch and half away from assholes. I don't know much about this crazy crazy world, but I do know this. Its not hard at all, they just need to change the font reference and deliver a new font in the game files (for instance: font=Sanserif, they just need to change the name to the new font).
