You are playing an Alpha build - I know its frustrating, but only because you enjoy the game so much and want it to work well (atleast this is the case for me). I agree its damn annoying, for the past week I have been fixing vehicles only to have them disappear after server reboots/crashes - its only today (after hours and hours of play time) have I found out its a known bug (guess I'll be checking the bug tracker a bit more now :¬P) the amount of tents we filled with beautiful weapons have all gone, all of that time wasted... but its not anyones fault, this is game development and we are playing an Alpha - if you want to play the release version imagine this doesn't exist and wait for the retail to appear. I hope this reminder that you are playing an Alpha build will make you feel better :¬) its frustrating for everyone when bugs happen - in reality we are lucky to be a part of the testing and hopefully contribute towards a solid release.

My experience with Multiplay server hosting (it's not good.)

We are currently having a the opposite with multiplay - the server is very fast and seems to work well, seems to populate fine too (no matter what version we have been on), they have also updated it to the latest version recently - in short I feel like they are putting the effort into making the servers as amazing as they should be in every resepct... however: 1) I agree the random reboots without any message is not appreciated - however I think this is something to do with their setup (I spoke to a tech personnel on the phone and he told me they are trying to get this fixed). 2) They could do with some links to documentation about the logs and how to configure the server properly - to save time dealing with random support individuals (as naturally, some are better than others). Other than this I would really recommend them, I was able to call them and speak to someone who knew their stuff on a sunday(!) - doubt you will find that elsewhere, combined with a very fast server on a great connection - hope they get the niggles sorted! -

To be fair this needs more exposure, not so people can cry about it, but so that people are aware of the issue and understand how to make sure VON works for them whilst playing - I was about to waste multiplays time as well as my own, thankfully someone had written a good post about it already with some decent keywords. I do wonder what else does not work properly when connecting to servers with a different OA version. Also, I would add this to the bug tracker for Dayz but it is not a bug, more a result of connecting to servers with different OA versions and really, I doubt, has anything to do with Dayz. Uhu, I ran into someone yesterday, I was calling out to him (he may have called out to me too) and he is one of the few that have shot at me whilst I was trying to speak to him... thankfully M1911 beats shotgun :¬D -

Just want to say thank you for posting this - I was about to open a ticket with multiplay, or talk to them over live support as I thought it was a server issue - will spend some time tomorrow with friends to see if we can get it working (atleast individually by rolling back to the same version of OA as the server). -

Aha, nice one, thanks - I am pretty new to this and didn't notice that. His name was quite offensive to certain religions also so pretty sure it was a hacker with all that gear combined. If he hops on our server and wants to play I will warn him about both. Sorry for posting in the wrong section! -

Thanks for reading and any input, for the moment I am just guessing this is decent legit play, goddam that L85! :¬D EDIT: I was mis-reading the log files, I thought the lines listing the ammo and numbers like this: ["30Rnd_556x45_StanagSD",23] meant the player had 23 clips of said ammo. When actually it lists how many bullets are left in that specific clip.

I can confirm that for our host the configuration file to change is this one: dayz.ArmA2OAProfile You can add the parameter WeaponCursor=0; (0 = false, 1= true) to this file. -

I have to ask, how could you tell they spawned close to each other? We recently started renting a server and I am checking the logs to familiarise myself with them - I have strained my eyes on the text but cannot see the location that they entered at. If you have any reading/information on the server logs I would really appreciate it. Many thanks! -

Hey dude, I am doing exactly the same thing at the moment - setting up a new server with multiplay and I believe the "dayz.ArmA2OAProfile" is the file we want to edit. I want to have veteran mode with 3rd person on... I'll try and remember to post here if I find anything new to report.
