The instawin rifles need to be removed from the game. You're telling me I can't have a backpack on while carrying a 19 pound SAW, but I can carry and fire a 37 pound AM rifle just fine? Seems balanced to me. You don't have to aim, you don't have to range estimate. %90 of servers you can just scroll your mouse wheel and get the range to target.(inb4everyonedeniesplayingonnameplate/crosshairservers) You all do it, so save the badass story about how 1337 you are. Then aim for his pinky toe, and bam, you just killed a guy. It's stupid. Sorry rocket, but any sensible human being would rather carry 37 pounds of provisions over a big useless rifle.

You people make me laugh. Is it bad to hack, sure it is. Is it a bad thing to take hacked weapons that aren't in DayZ? That's situation. Does it give you an unfair advantage? I could understand people not wanting some kid flying around in an AH-64. Or having an M1151 with a M2 on it. But a rifle? Seriously? The whole rules for rules sake mentality is disturbing. Yeah it's a scumbag thing for a guy to take a hacked rifle because he didn't spend hours server hopping the south barracks at NWAF like every fucking one of you did, then putting it all in a tent so that you have five of them just in case you die. Look for the gunrunners trade thread, I've traded with them loads and never had an issue. They have a server just for trading, and they will bring over watch, but you're allowed to bring your own.

If this mod was functional, I may agree with you that taking that weapon deserved a ban, but with the way it works so far, you don't live long playing the mod the way it was "intended" to be played.

I'm typically freindly provided you don't suprise me. I've helped several new spawns get off the coast and get geared up. Made a freind that way, and now I don't have to play alone.

Pllease do explain why the vast, and I do mean vast majority of long range marksman weapons in modern militaries are in the 7.62/.300winmag/.338 caliber? Oh, is it because they have more consistent performance at a distance? Nah bro, couldn't be. The M24 is a >1 MOA rifle, the AM rifle family can never hope for that because that isn't what they were designed for.

Here, I'll word it so that you don't sound like a retard. Real snipers do not exist in DayZ. What you have in DayZ are fanboys that think AM rifles are the cream of the crop when in comes to long range engagements. Just be glad your milisim isn't entirely realistic, or that beloved AS-50 wouldn't be much use against infantry at long range. 7.62/.338 rifles are the king of long range engagements, purely because of how accurate they are.

I understand what you're saying, and I agree, But if the weapon worked the way it does IRL in game, it would be one of the weapons people dupe/hack/KOS for.

The PSO optic used by the SVD offers far greater first round hit probabilities and far more accurate range estimation, all at a greater rate of speed then any other firearm or rangfinder+firearm.

IMO, sure, add PvE. Just make those servers separate from PvP server, meaning that the chracters and items from those servers cannot in any way be transferred to the PvP area. This would expand the player base, and bring more revenue to the developer which results in extended support for the game and it's DLC.
