Release a an unplayable game which will fail just so they can use it as a test for another game which will sell far fewer copies? Really?

Your concern was that the stand alone might be terrible because they'll create it just to cash in on the popularity of the mod. To me that doesn't make any sense, because if it's unplayable it'll be a complete failure. It's in their best interest to make it work better than the mod. If you're uncertain, just wait a couple of weeks before you buy it.

You're assuming that it's going to be exactly the same. I've heard Rocket mention something about "fixing" the night. The standalone means they can really build in features rather than "hacking" them into ARMA 2. Besides, I wouldn't mind if the nights were left alone. In reality it gets dark at night.

Pretty sure the whole point of the standalone is to make it less buggy and more secure.

I don't agree with the comparison to paedophiles at all. Of course they're all going to do it for different reasons. The person I met was trying hard to make friends and seem impressive. The whole thing definitely felt a bit pathetic and sad, and my girlfriend who was there at the time agreed. What he did fucking sucked, and it pissed me off. Despite that I humoured him for far longer than I wanted to, then simply left the server to get away from him. Seriously, the whole thing lasted about 25 motherfucking minutes. It was painful. Wait a minute... you accused me of being too judgemental and then said that my judgement parallels racism? Settle the fuck down you silly bitch.

I just can't stop playing this game... Tonight I started a new character, killed someone within 30 min and had decent gear. AK47, CZ, compass, NVGs. Nowadays when I have gear like that, I go stalking snipers around Cherno and Elektro. I crept up on a Ghillie suit hiding in a tree, put about 10 rounds in his face, and he didn't die. Didn't even seem to bleed. He disappeared and my kill count didn't move. I assumed he was going to come back and kill me so I left the server. Entered another server and eventually found another sniper with a Ghillie. Put many rounds in the body and he appeared to bleed, but he logged out and I didn't get the kill. Wow.

I didn't want the fecking guns, I took them to be nice to him. Like I just said, now I try to kill anyone who appears to be a hacker, even if it means I lose all my stuff when they find and kill me.

Just wondering mate, are you a teenager? Don't mean that in any kind of disrespectful way. Well yes, I can tell when someone is upset. Even if they weren't, it still would have felt good to me. And you're upset with me as well. Do you run scripts yourself?

Yes, it was definitely worth it. I die because of script kiddies ALL THE TIME. Killing them once before they killed us felt awesome, and they seemed genuinely upset. Within an hour I was killed by hackers on a different server. I'll take what I can get. Whereas you're acting like a silly bitch with a non-argument like "doesn't take much to satisfy you does it? Hurrrrrrr"

My beans, I give you all of them. I wish you a happy and prosperous life, for you have chosen the path of righteousness. But now I'm once again considering waiting for the stand alone. Can't seem to survive for more than a couple of hours without getting hacked and killed. I once had a character for a couple of weeks, seems impossible to do that now.

It has happened to me a few times. My friend and I shot two hackers yesterday after they tried to be friendly, which really pissed them off. They found us again and killed us, but it was definitely worth it. I could not give a feck if they have good intentions. The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

The first time I found an AS50, I was excited. Even got a friend to log into the server so they could check it out. Not long after, I moved into an exposed position and got killed without getting a chance to use it. My mistake, and It was a cool moment regardless. Last night I was playing on a server which was getting hacked pretty heavily. I died a few times, mostly due to hackers. But within about 5 or 10 minutes of spawning, I had most of the best gear every time. Either I'd find a tent or complete vehicle fully loaded, or kill someone and they'd have everything on them. Looking at my gear now, and I have no idea what is legit and what isn't. I have a DMR, night vision, GPS, all kinds of stuff taken from people I killed. Seems like everyone has an AS50 and a ghillie suit. There are more AS50's than Enfields these days. For a while I thought, maybe I should just not use these rare items. I have no way to tell if an item is legit or not. But most other people seem to have this stuff, so I'm putting myself at a disadvantage. So I use them, and now these things have no significance. That excitement and sense of achievement is gone. There is no challenge for food or water. Zombies pose no threat. Because of hackers, It has become Counter Strike with a 15 minute wait between respawns. Script kiddies are either precious snowflakes who can't handle the pain of defeat, or lonely people who bribe others for affection.

Cheating is not a "playstyle", it's cheating. You're not playing it your own way, you're breaking the game. I'm not forcing people to play my way, you're forcing your bullshit on me by flooding the game with "rare" items and removing any challenges for people you come across. You're destroying what makes this game remarkable.

Buuuuuuulllshit. If you want to fly a helicopter to help people, fix one. If you think it's more fun to spawn everything and play with it, don't play DayZ. Play ARMA or COD or Counter Strike. You're dismantling the challenges which make this game such an incredible experience. By spawning rare items you diminish their significance almost completely. You're undoing the dynamics of the mod itself, and putting those who choose not to cheat at a massive disadvantage. You think you're being a hero, but in reality you're being a pussy.
