    Well, in the mod you could go really fast with a bike. So fast, that if you slammed into a tree you would surely die. I'd like to see that in action on SA. Maybe go over some sweet jumps, too.

    Only time will tell with the new physics engine. I was talking to my friend at work today after the presentation Dean did and said "I wonder if after they put in the physics engine and bicycles, if crashing while going down a hill at 80 miles per hour on a bike would result in some hilarious ragdoll action right before a horrific death?"

    If they add copters, and allow for parachutes, I really hope that the chance for parachutes to open properly is like 25% :D Hopefully the physics engine will also allow for splattered bodies.

    You can always meet strangers that are fun to play with! I do it all the time. Not everyone out there will kill on sight. If I find someone helpful and we have somewhat of a common goal in mind, i'll coordinate with them and stick it out with them to any end. It's way more helpful and ups your survival chances to have an ally with an extra set of eyes. The better experiences in the SA game and standalone involve these types of interactions. I've had some really good memories with people by joining forces rather than a shootout. I spent about a year being a bandit and a year being nice. Both have rewards, but I personally prefer hanging out with people and going on adventures. Never know what could happen.

    I'm glad they follow infinitely. Evil knows no rest and they are some hungry mofos. I still like the current zed system better than it was before. It needs tweaking and fine tuning, sure, but still better than before.

    Right. If anything they just upped the learning curve a little bit, and I really have no problem with that when compared to the very small one pre-patch. I personally think they should make them a little harder/higher in numbers. I appreciate that this is finally becoming the zombie survival game we've all been waiting for, slowly but surely, instead of DayZ of Duty: Apocalyptic Warfare. Keep the changes coming! :) As for the OP, Guppy's advice is best. go read around for tips. play around with a single zed to get their movements down and how to evade them, etc. Even if it costs you 1 life, getting used to how they move and react will let you know how to react in the future when you have a bunch on you. Some other things to think of are "How much distance can I be ahead of one that will allow me to stop and loot 1 item?" or "what should my strategy be for getting rid of them?" Melee weapons work pretty well on them and you can still time it to where you can move out of the way before they land a hit on you. Practice headshotting them with a melee weapon while moving about so you rarely get hit. You can still get rid of them, it just takes some maneuvering.

    Hilarious post. Good work. I would have been number 4. When i'm a new spawn, as long as you don't try to shoot me, I'll take any freebies you're willing to hand out, and in turn, defend you so long as we're still hanging out. I'm appreciative like that. Number 3 was good ol' fashioned torturous entertainment haha. That's what the little bastard deserved, i'm sure.

    When a server restarts, what time is it?

    It picks back up depending on what you set the time to in the server settings. At least that's the way it works with vilayer servers. For example, before the time-lapse change they are pushing out (to speed up the day night cycle) to servers to be configurable, I would set my server to 3 hours day and 1 hour night. To do this, I would make my server restart at something like 4:30 pm or whatever, every restart. This would accomplish getting the 3 hours of day and 1 hour of night for my server. In that 4 hours, it would go from 4:30 - 8:30pm. So it really depends on how the server admin has set it up. By default, assuming they don't touch anything in the settings, I believe it;s set to something like 9am, at least for vilayer. Each provider has something different. Which in and of itself is weird. Like why would you NOT push your server tools to allow the maximum allowed functionality for your clients renting those servers? I have no idea, but i've heard some server hosts really don't offer jack shit to those that rent from them, which is really bad service for your customers. Vilayer adds in what they can though.

    Well, me personally, I don't corner camp. I just run through like anyone who wouldn't be corner camping. Sure, I've done it before, but not generally. I've done it when being chased by someone, and I've also been killed by someone doing the same thing. Knowing how that works, If I were the wiser I would have stopped approaching because I knew that would happen. When I do play on 3pp servers, I know the places people camp, so I choose not to go to those places and still have a great experience. If I do have to go to those places, i'm just careful about it and keep my eyes on the corners/ledges of places that are known for camping. The mod has the same setup and I don't personally remember anyone putting up such a large whine-fest over it then. The fact that there is another option out there should have stopped any of this from continuing altogether. I guess after seeing a million of these threads, I can't help but feel:

    Pretty much this. Back when there weren't hardcore servers, I could understand what the gripe was about, but considering there are options out there now, then just play hardcore and stop whining about it. My argument for not completely getting rid of 3pp is that in the very same thing you're whining about, you yourself have equal capacity to do the very same thing. If you're not, then that's your problem. By that logic, someone could say "Well I don't shoot M4A1s because I don't like them" They go looking for a weapon and do not pick up the only one they find, an M4A1 with mags. Instead they skip it. Later, they run into another player, who holds them up and get killed by their M4A1, and then complain that M4A1s should be removed from the game. It's a really stupid argument. If you don't like 3pp then don;t play on 3pp:on servers. that's it! That's literally the only thing you have to do and all of your troubles just disappear like magic.

    I always go minimalist/low-drag too. Never stopped me from ganking smaller teams decked out in mil-gear. It's what you do with what you have gents.

    I've noticed a little rubberbanding in my play time earlier this evening. Nothing huge but it happened a few times with a max of maybe 35 meters run. the other couple of times it was just a few feet. I'd say a massive improvement over the last build, personally. Again, about the zeds. This is a zombie apocalypse game, not a team deathmatch or solo deathmatch game. While I love pvp, it should encompass survival in a bottmed-out world from zombies AND players alike. Though it's only a placeholder, I think it's a great step in the right direction to make the zeds assholes. This game was never intended to be a walk in the park with a dora the explorer learning curve. You're going to die trying quite a bit, no matter what your playstyle is.

    The consequence of shooting someone is receiving loot, or by a some people's standards, getting a kill. Maybe ruining some of the loot would be a consequence as well. As far as I know, there really aren't any, and there wouldn't be much of any in a realistic apocalyptic scenario where you had to struggle to survive either, unless someone saw you kill them. That fact is what makes the choice to be a bandit a somewhat attractive one. I'm not, but i'm perfectly fine with the way it is now. I manage to survive a lot.

    That's why for true persistence I like the private server based solutions. I know it's been done before (Epoch, Origins) but it just simply works. I'm not real sure what they could do to countermeasure that kind of BS, but they may come up with something!

    I wouldn't bash the gun. I think it's a fine weapon, but as these people are saying, it does serve its purpose, you just need to be using it for the right thing. Pros: Faster firing with a clip. Really quiet, which allows you to get rid of zeds pretty easily with head shots. Cons: low damage. I treat mine as a zed clearing tool and to practice head shots (and soon, hunting). In pvp, shooting in the legs or the head are your best option. Shooting in the body won't do much damage. Sure, they will bleed, but in the time you've pumped a few rounds into them, they are already well on their way to retaliating or running off I'd rather have the .22 than have an axe if someone with a gun were coming after me.
