PRIVE PVE LOOTING SERVER RENTING SLOTS
Robotic Insecurity replied to ryankaehler's topic in Server Advertisement
People already server-hop through low-population servers without paying a fee. And as others have said, you're not allowed to do this anyway... -
Dude, I bitched about this problem on the Battlelog forums or whatever it is called and some idiot quoted Ben Franklin to defend abusive admins. It was that one dumb quote about security and privacy or whatever, as if wanting admins to lose their ridiculous privileges on ranked servers is an unbelievable wish and infringing on rights outside the game.

What they should do if they implement this guy's suggestion is maybe make it so either all the person's stuff after ten minutes degrades to "ruined" quality except for the diary or all the gear on them, save for the diary, despawns. That way, the bodies could linger for a slightly longer period giving people time to read the diary should they stumble upon the body without bringing back corpse-retrieving.

Some server owners are confused and think this game is pay-to-win.

This. I would take varied breaks on the mod and come back with a very skewed idea of how long I had actually been surviving. But yeah, think mostly everyone misses the day-tracking system. Would be even better with this guy's ideas for improvement.

The game should have motorbikes in large numbers instead of rare cars and horses

What about all the soccer-mom zombies? Surely they won't need their SUVs. -
CZ550, Horses, Tasers, Persistent Containers, and more Confirmed by Dean in Stream - video
Robotic Insecurity replied to TEST_SUBJECT_83's topic in General Discussion
Maybe what he means by persistent containers is something akin to the camping tents from DayZMod. -
Are there player interactions that aren't allowed?

Then perhaps it is better to avoid a sandbox video game where someone would even be inclined to act out a rape. I doubt the OP was talking about structured RP when they referred to it. Many people do take on personas in this video game and do not use RP servers. This is evidenced by the large amount of entertaining DayZ videos on YouTube. I can wholeheartedly assure you that an action done within a video game is indicative of nothing. If that were the case, then where are the legions of pizza-faced boys toting their fathers' hunting rifles and shooting up the entire world so they can call in attack choppers for bonus points? I think it is pretty presumptuous to decide a person's motives and true desires for them simply because of how they act online. I also have absolutely no desire to rape anyone in real life, but as said by someone else virtual male rape already happens in this game and I would jokingly do this sort of thing to my friends or some asshole we have captured. Would I rape an actual person, male or female? Never. I don't do it in a video game because video games lack heavily-weighted punishment; I do it because it is a funny happenstance to me. If that irks you, write it off as a disagreement about what is sacred and what isn't. However, I am able to laugh about the act and not condone it at the same time. There is a difference. I may joke to a friend about raping their character on DayZ, but I would do something to stop a rape in the real world if I witnessed one. To say that rape cannot be part of a survival simulation when both it and murder would and do happen in similar real-world scenarios is very ignorant. I'll hide behind the realism argument all I want because that is largely the aim of this game. All unsavory mechanics the developers don't want to add can be acted out anyway. -
Every time he turned on voice chat to do that dusty old trololo thing, I cringed. Hard. That's the internet for you, though. Everybody thinks they're an expert troll who drowns in motherly vagina every night.

I could not stand having my character bound to one server for this. Not because I do quick server-hopping, but because sometimes I just want to run around everywhere on a low-pop server looting without fear of being KoS'd and other times I just say "fuck it" and go onto a nearly-full server for some excitement. In addition, I appreciate the public hive. So many servers I played on mod would randomly die and never return. Wouldn't be fun to lose characters with many hours invested into them (outside being killed obviously; not really fun, but part of the core gameplay).

Are there player interactions that aren't allowed?
Robotic Insecurity replied to Mondodo's topic in General Discussion
People act as if rape doesn't happen in real-life scenarios similar to this game's setting. Implicating that OP is a closet rapist for wanting to RP a rape is some crackpot psychology, too. Not saying rape is positive or anything, but within the context of DayZ it would not be a traumatizing experience and it is reasonably realistic. Again, not advocating a rape feature; just think this dude is allowed to roleplay how he chooses so long as it doesn't seep into his actual life (which I strongly doubt would happen). -
The Community's List of Suggested Weapons for Dayz Standalone (Version: 1.29)
Robotic Insecurity replied to alexeistukov's topic in Suggestions
Makes me sad the VSS is getting no love. That is probably my all-time favorite rifle. -
Perhaps this could add another use to alcohol tincture by allowing you to clean your canteen/bottle should it grow dirty from storing sugary beverages?

Hell yes. What a solid idea to add more nightvision to the game outside of military loot.

Neutral safe zones that physically prevent combat
Robotic Insecurity replied to alleycat's topic in General Discussion
No natural safe zones. The world is supposed to be in anarchy and chaos. There are no rules. -
I totally agree on the camo deal. The painted rags can be seen as a trade-off of concealment for recognition. Think it's worth adding. DayZ gives you lots of options.

I like the suggestion of being able to pour soda into the existing containers. Seems unnecessary to add another item just for storing soda. Otherwise, great idea.

DayZ SA is already becoming too damn easy
Robotic Insecurity replied to Keudn's topic in Suggestions
How do you think zombies should be handled? Spawning more densely, more durable, more deadly, faster, combination of any of those, or something else? It's worth mentioning that axes were the better choice over guns without silencing in the mod, where zombies are all of those aforementioned things. Ended up saving my ammo in mod for PvP, too. Might just be better to reduce the spawn rate of firearms. -
If playing that way makes you feel bad, don't choose to play that way. Personally would not have betrayed a dude who opened up to me, but I can't tell you how to play a sandbox game.

This Game is Being Advertised as an MMO Right? Char Bound to Server.
Robotic Insecurity replied to gjhook's topic in Suggestions
Does DayZ have to do what other MMO-type games are doing (and many have paid transfers/guesting on friends' servers anyway)? I appreciate being able to jump on another server with the same character if the one I was playing on goes down. When shelter construction is introduced, there will still be a feel of community without server-binding the characters. Finding an active server on a private hive would probably be more up your alley. I couldn't help you find one, though, since I usually jump right off of private servers when I find them. -
This is more of an exploit than a bug to me and I was not sure where else to post this (also tried using the search function but if there are other topics about this I am not using the proper term), but the two people I ran into yesterday both left the server right after my friends or I killed them. This cannot be something that just happens every time anyone dies because I was avenging one of my buddies and his body stayed presumably because he remained on the server. However, both a man another friend axed in the head and the guy that killed my friend promptly left and their bodies went with them. I was able to access both inventories; even able to loot a pair of olive jungle boots off one. The bodies disappeared within about ten seconds each time, though. My two questions are if this gives those players some sort of advantage such as retaining their gear after death (not that I would abuse it; I take my deaths fair and square) and is there a planned fix to this (I saw the "logging out after dying despawns body ~30 seconds later" bit of the latest patch, assuming it was fixing that issue and not introducing it, but it does not seem to be working that way)? Again, sorry if this is in the completely wrong forum.

Logging out after dying
Robotic Insecurity replied to Robotic Insecurity's topic in General Discussion
Most of the stuff was "damaged" or higher on the first guy and the second guy had, albeit mostly ruined gear, a pristine M4 and a couple articles of clothing. -
Request to be moved in playable area. Stuck in Debug Plains.
Robotic Insecurity replied to Essonimex's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Player ID: 65670278 I believe my ID was fixed, but after I had died I spawned within a building and now my account is apparently re-corrupted (to where I cannot get past 'Loading'). I need not only to have my ID fixed, but to be teleported to an actual beach spawnpoint. A mercy killing would also be just as sufficient.
