IMO it should be a free kill. People would think twice about killing a beaner if they would have an even bigger target painted on their head. Today bandits can't be trusted and should be shot on sight. With no hit on humanity they are walking treasure chests and would be hunted down. Therefore most would try the damnedest to stop themselves winning a "douche towel" and pick their shots. However others won't care, so there will still be the risk of someone shooting you. -

Hatchet and a handgun. No, really. The hatchet is the best thing to deal with the zeds and a pistol to deal with other players up close. -
As I play DayZ as a stealth-em-up, I usually avoid and ignore other players. If it was an easy kill on a towel-head I would probably shoot him in the back though. Anyone else I would leave alone if they hadn't seen me.

You should get Windows 7 now before Microsoft try to push Windows 8 down everyone's throats. According to most reviews, using Windows 8 is like chewing shit flavoured glass. -
The only time you would use it is if the server shits the bed and wipes all your gear. Other then that it's a newbie trap.

The FAL is too loud and even with the bug getting ammo for it is a pain in the arse. I'd rather spry and pray a weapon I know I can find clips for then some crash site only thing.

I love the dark and DayZ Commander has no problem finding night servers for me. Wish they were more populated tho. Slicing up zeds in the dark is fun but a bit easy. I've also heard that nVidia users have a much nicer time in the moonlight over ATi users do, so that might be another issue. I know lighting is something they want to fix in the standalone so we'll see.

It would be my second choice for killing zeds if not for the ammo issue. I mean you can group shot gun shells to save space so why not bolts? -
Computers of course cannot produce random numbers, so the trick most systems use is to look at an internal clock and use that number as a seed. Of course that's all well and good until you make several calls for a "random" number at the same time and you get the same result for each.

Standard DayZ Forum post: OP usually with a low post count and no avatar whines about a problem everyone knows about and are already hundreds of topics to post in if the OP wasn't so lazy to look for them. The nicer people tell OP to wait for the standalone. Everyone else tells OP to fuck off. Do you really expect a different repose for posting the same tired topics? PS: Fuck off!

I've managed to stay alive for 28 days (hurr) and it gets dull. During those 28 days my gear got wiped and I had way more fun getting my gear back then I did bear gryllsing it up in the woods, hitting the cities out of pure boredom. So yeah, dying isn't a big thing any more now I know what to do. Give me a hatchet and I'm good to go!

When buying a gaming rig, don't by the most expensive parts. Usally the stuff a few tiers under the top of the line stuff is almost as good but can be half the price. That said, try to make something future proof. If you build a rig that can last 3 or 4 years with only the odd upgrade you will save yourself a lot of time and hassle. You will also save money in the long run. Gotta love those Steam sales.
