Yeah I kinda guessed "I'm an idiot" was the most likely option. I always thought churches outside of the two main cities were shut. I usually avoid Pogo as I thought it wasn't worth the risk, but I was greifing a newbie. He was standing in an open field like an idiot, tossing smoke 'nades at zeds and not watching his back at all. So I snuck right up behind him, shouted "BOO!" and unloaded a shotgun right over his head. He freaked and ran. Chased him into Pogo but he Alt-4Fed on me and then I noticed the church. Now I know it's open I'll pass by then again more often. /cool story bro

They use the animal AI as all the other AI in ARMA II uses "shoot you with guns" or "run away" routines. Therefore the zeds act a bit weird. The AI really wasn't meant to pilot a zombie, but stand in the field and go "baa" now and again.

Oh yeah of course.... I guess it's been awhile but I would swear blind there wasn't backpacks in ARMA II. *shrugs*

I can't help but roll my eyes when the inventory gets mentioned. Those that bitch about it haven't played ARMA II. Go play ARMA II and see how many times you use the inventory screen. It's hardly ever. You get given the best gear the US has, so why would you pick up guns from enemies? You never have to worry about food or drink ether so you usually never need to press 'G'. Add in the fact that backpacks are hacked in and use the shoulder slot used for rocket launchers then you know it's going to be a mess. Let's play "Spot the CoD kiddie!"

First attempt: Got chased and knocked down by zeds the second I spawn. Second attempt: Lasted 28 days before getting bored and ran around Cherno like an arse because hiding in the woods with end game stuff gets dull pretty quickly.

Chains to not mean lag. They mean de-sync with your machine and the server. A player (and the zombies they have spawned) can lag and you won't get chain icons.

Just use DayZ Commander and filter the servers for what you want.

I was without the internet for two weeks and you've probably fucked off back to CoD because you're too dumb to zero a sniper rifle, but I had to mention that for me the spawn map still works. Crash sites appear where the map says it does. I very much doubt it has changed or will change as there are only a number of places they can realistically spawn using ARMA's mechanics. Even if they moved them a bit it makes little difference. There are a limited number of open areas they will fit away from the coast.

If it stopped zombies I would have said no. As it is, it's just a greifing tool used by arseholes.

If you spawn in a crap area don't be a pussy and kill yourself, try to find a hatchet and farm the zeds. I find killing zeds is the fastest way to find food in the crappy villages out in the sticks. If there's a building you can enter, pull them in and whack them one by one. If not, us a night server and sneak up behind them. You are more likely to find tins of food on them then in low level drop points and zeds also respawn. Check the loot piles tho. I've found Alice packs and map etc in sheds and outhouses all the time. Learn where the loot spawns are on non-enterable buildings and you often find goodies others have walked by.

When there's no moon or it's cloudy, you should use chem lights... however that's just crazy. You're just asking to get shot if you do that, so I will admit to having a brighter screen then I should have. Even if you took the gamma slider out of the game (which is a horrible idea) people can still use the video cards settings to cheat.
