here is a video of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wIWLusu8Me0 here is a link to the bug tracker, please upvote this. this should be fixed asap. http://feedback.dayzgame.com/view.php?id=14644 when i first noticed the shadow and followed it i ended up at a pretty big pile of loot in the middle of the road. the loot pile had 2 of these shadows. while standing there i noticed another shadow on the fence, it was moving and getting bigger. a minute later a player appeared. the shadow was following him around. i decided to record a video of this bug. you can see the shadows near my crosshair/cursor each time i start strafing back and forth. at the end you can see them under his feet very clearly.

Most people seem to be enjoying this so I thought I'd share with you guys over here. link to video I didn't know the guy was there until I ran down the stairs. I tried to get him with my sickle but he kicked my ass. Then instead of finishing me off he takes most of my stuff and starts eating my rice. a few minutes later i woke up and started hitting him in the head. At this point he runs around, tries to eat the rice a few more times and then pulls his rifle. CLICK CLICK CLICK. It wont fire. When I looted his body I discovered that he didn't have any ammo at all. I have no idea why he kept trying to shoot me with it.

hacker hacking away, admin does nothing. random shit starts talking crap in side channel and the admin bans them. no biggie. other dude points out how he banned a dude that wasnt even hacking while a hacker is still hacking. admin bans 2nd guy in side chat, hacker is still there. i say "worst admin ever. banning people for talking shit while ignoring the actual hackers" and was banned within a few seconds. grow up little girl. maybe you shouldnt be an admin if you cant handle the pressure.

i think im the newb sniper, but i wont alt f4 in the middle of a fight. technically esc then alt+f4 is the only way i ever turn the game off, but i only do it if im alone. i dont know a lot of good sniping spots and tend to get sniped myself more often than not. i do get some kills though so im not a total scrub. i did manage to get in a sniper fight with 2 snipers at once, and that was so fun. the gun i had was new to me and i wasnt used to its range, and kept missing. they were 600+ meters away. they kept ducking behind hills and trees, and i kept rolling back and forth between the trees i was hiding in. we shot at eachother for maybe 5 or 10 minutes(we all sucked) before they got me.

i find myself getting bored with the game. there isnt much to do after a while. the most fun i had in the last week was a few days ago when a couple hackers more or less kidnapped me. they ported me all over with them and was just doing random shit. aside from them porting me around they werent even bothering anyone. i wasnt bothered because before they came i was bored to tears. they were spawning random cars and blowing them up just for kicks, and even used some satchel charges to blow up some trees. id never seen half the shit they were doing so it was rather entertaining. in before ZOMG YOU WERE CHILILN WITH HACKZORS edit: im in no way saying hackers are good. they should all get together in one spot, build a bonfire, and then die in it.

that reminds me of a sign i saw at a pro-immigration rally. it said "we have the right to enter your country illegally". to this day i cant grasp what was going through their head as they made that sign. its the wookie on endor defense.

no thanks. ill get rid of a gun if i find out its not supposed to be in the game at all, but if i find legit items on a dead body im using them.

the map shows bus stops. maybe one day we can get a zombie bus line going from town to town and then getting around wont be so time consuming. have fun waiting at the bus stop.

im starting to think all of these people that constantly bash battleye are either using scripts themselves or have no clue what they are talking about. either way, there isnt a single piece of software around that isnt breakable, and to expect otherwise is just foolish and ignorant.

ive been tempted to shoot a zombie or 2 first, so they think they are gonna get saved, and THEN shoot them. what do you think? this way you can get their hopes up a little first.

it wasnt until i read this that i realize that i never saw a can of pasta in real life, unless you count spagetti-o's.

this happened to me, on the current version, and i thought it was because i had pitched the tent in some tree branches. i pitched it deep within a big ass tree's branches and was barely able to interact with it while it was up. when i took it down i couldnt even touch it at all. im still assuming its cause of the branches and not some random bug though. maybe you did something similar?

for some reason ive only been helped by hackers. literally every time i run into someone and they help me in any way at all, its a hacker thats trying to hand me the shit hes carrying. why they do this im not sure. i never had a mic until recently so most of the times they did it i couldnt even tell them anything.

my favorite thing to do atm is to shoot at people running from zombies. try to break their legs so they die slowly to the zombies.

it seems you have given up on the conversation. no worries. i do have an idea though. why not flag these strict servers as "zero tolerance" so people know what they are getting into ahead of time. people like me can join them knowing theres a slightly less chance of hacking, and anyone thats worried about getting kicked over a false alarm can avoid it. call me optimistic, but id like to think that particular error will be resolved pretty soon. otherwise, simply ignore that particular error if it occurs within a few seconds of logging in, and the problem is solved. If i recall correctly, the person in this thread had a script error well after logging in, correct? so in this case it doesnt matter.

that depends. lets say you keep getting servers with hackers, then pop on here and see a thread about how the admins on XXXX server keep banning anyone that even looks like they might be thining about hacking. you might be tempted to join it, wouldnt you? hackers are literally ruining the game for many people, while getting banned from one of the 5 thousand servers would hardly ruin the game for you. admins banning people for no reason at all is bullshit, and at no point did i ever imply this is ok. im literally only talking about people that trigger something on battleeye OR in some other way leads the admins to believe they are hacking.

anyone experiencing issues with hackers would probably be fine with over-zealous admins trying to keep it in control. i know im fine with it. its not like real life where people serve time in jail for being wrongly accused. you just have to find a diff server to play on. big deal.

this game was only pve for me while i was learning wtf was up with everything. now pve is soooo easy that i dont count it anymore. its not hard to fool and lose the zombies without even having a weapon. the only challenge is avoiding hackers and staying out of people's cross hairs while trying to find someone to kill yourself. im praying that the standalone will have a lot more to do besides collect gear. allow people to build up the towns, restore power, etc, while waves of zombies are trying to take it all apart. maybe that would suck too but this game needs to have more to it if it expects to "survive" as a stand alone.

the admins of this server in this thread were able to figure it out. and what would you rather see more threads about? people getting banned for no reason or hackers running rampant? i choose the "banned for no reason" threads myself.

this is the truth. ill even get a little deeper into it. most people that seem nice are only doing so because they dont want everyone else to come down on them. wait until the rules are gone and see how people really act. its called the mob mentality, and can/will happen whenever people think they can actually get away with doing messed up stuff. its proven every day all over the world, and its even worse in video games or on the internet. but do i care about any of this? not really. i kill and help people randomly, theres really no rhyme or reason to my actions in dayz. lately ive been trying to get used to using the different rifles at very long ranges, so ill even shoot an unarmed fresh spawn if hes chilling at 600+ yards and i have a rifle im still trying to learn. no matter what people do to each other in this GAME, everyone should just get over it and keep PLAYING, because its just a GAME. if this GAME bothers you that much then find something else to do.

i disagree. i say ban possible hackers immediately and if it turns out they arent really hacking then go ahead and unban them.

i searched for this 5 diff ways and either no one ever has mic issues or i suck at searching. i can record sounds in windows with the mic, it works, so what do i do to use it in dayz? i hit caps to try and talk to people and they cant hear me. ive been trying on direct chat channel. do i use group or what? im asking here because id like it to work before i run into someone thats going to kill me again.

my mic was already the windows default input device, and when i test in there it shows that its picking up sounds. the players i ran into had mics and were talking to me trying to see if i was friendly, i was saying i was, and they still shot me. i ran into them again right after spawning and started using the text chat to talk with them and through that they said they cannot hear me on the mic. ive checked all of the audo settings and mute buttons that i can find. windows 7 pro + earforce z6a by turtle beach.
