yeah you need to autohover when you're bringing the heli down, but turn it off before you hit the ground. if you don't, the rotor will probably grab the terrain and flip the heli. and as zero said, you then need to put it down incredibly gently.

oh, brilliant. so if someone hops on a server and runs a script that replaces my m4a1 with a g36c, i should have to drop it and wander around defenseless because it's my fault, right? .....OHWAIT. and i am assuming that your suggestion includes some equally brilliant consequence if the weapon is not dropped before the "timer" expires. -

all of the suggestions in this thread are bad, and you should all feel bad. new to the game, excited because you see some cool looking stuff in a crate, and you pick up a scripted-in weapon? one of you thinks you should be banned, one of you thinks you should get a week's suspension, one of you thinks you should get kicked from the game, etc... going along minding your own business when a scripter puts an AS50TWS in your hands? oh yes, clearly a bannable offense. @SennenT: i am glad you recognize my superiority. here is a suggestion for you - deal with it until standalone. scripters are a fact of life right now, the mod is in alpha and battleye is impotent. you know this and you choose to play regardless. -

are you a troll or just a moron? in a game where hackers can literally script any weapon directly into a player's hands, you want to ban people for having "a hacked gun in his/her hands?" -
have you ever actually tried to salvage a dog? it's messy, difficult work. you're going to need a fairly well-equipped evil laboratory as well as a lot of time. interesting idea, but highly impractical.

yeah the sickness mechanic is just plain stupid - i've found antibiotics a grand total of once. usually if you log in/out a few times you can bug it out and get rid of the sickness, and then you will stop losing blood and coughing. keep in mind that you'll only lose blood until 6k, at that point the blood loss will stop.

interesting, but rocket has already stated that he likes the idea of gear/item decay and would like to incorporate it into dayz. i think having items require regular maintenance is a less annoying way of adding a bit of "realism" and a survival aspect to the gunplay without having it be overbearing. having to fix up a weapon as you do a vehicle, while more "realistic," would be tedious and irritating. while i think it's currently a bit too easy to find an effective weapon it is still somewhat challenging and risky to scavenge up the best ones, and adding more steps to that process would simply take away from my enjoyment of the game. having a weapon is fairly crucial in order to do well in dayz, and i think making them less accessible would be a mistake.
