I was playing on a full server, picking up leftovers. Never found a pack, but found a mosin and 19 rounds 10 feet away. I would not say it is rare you just have to know where to look.

This is a little preemptive, but I am thinking about my playtime tomorrow. I was a dirty little hoarder on Thursday and Friday and now I need to find someone to help clean out some inventory space, I would much rather help someone on the forum than just a random that picks my server tomorrow. Bonus points if you live near me and play at approximately the same time, priority goes to post count (I will not trust you if your post history started after this thread was created). I will play from about 9 am PST to 1 pm PST. I have extra canteens food camo vest M4 5.56 ammo (many, many, many rounds) 7.62 ammo (approx. 40 rounds) I may even give away some of my own kit, while nice it lacks originality. camo jacket and pants ballistic helm gas mask Lastly, I am somewhat gaging the interest. I would like to offer my scavenging services in the future if it goes well. The only thing I really could think of that was worthwile in exchange is to have the trust of some of you guys on here. Well I accidently dropped my prefered M4 so I just decided to run around Cherno carelessly. I died, but now I have an extra fireaxe and an extra compass. I believe I hit the hotkey while I was running couldn't find it after looking a minute. I'm out for the day.

I was thinking about replacing gear near the coast, but that would really screw up a newbie's understanding of the game. "Whatever you say is wrong, because this one time I got an M4A1 from a house AND it had a half used mag." Edit: pics added for "proof" I actually have the gear. Not that it proves, I am not going to kill you, but it is good first step. Besides, it is too late. I am just getting rid of some stuff today. If I even live all day. I have been alt-tabbed for a minute trying to set up these pics. Edit: because lol, the empty inventory spaces were where I was holding onto factory sights to replace the nicer scope I currently have attached to either weapon, guess I lost them somehow.

Clearly it could be. That is why I am not too hurt no one took me up on the offer. Also, you could say you needed the gear and just kill me instead. It's a risk both ways. If you really thought it was a trap, why did you not just say, "Me, me, me" and kill me before I had the chance? This was not a lazy post, there was plenty thought in the consequences, in the reaction. I intend to post on these forums regularly and I would prefer not to be known as an untrustworthy person. It is one thing if someone goes around telling everyone they will kill you and then they get the chance and they do, you can respect that. Quite another to lie about your intentions. That is a matter of one's honor and integrity and it supercedes any role you might pretend to play in a video game. I have killed a player, so I am not above it. Am I looking for an easy kill now? No. I am one of those people that is glad we have KoS it makes the game interesting, but I do not get my jollies from killing at all. I personally am struggling at how I make the game better by circumventing the KoS mentality. I despise when I hear so many people saying that people are killing each other because there is nothing else to do. In a sandbox game, if there is nothing to do, then there is a clear lack of creativity and imagination.

I have played on a server at night and it was fine. The flashlight is a must, but don't leave it on. Light up a loot spot and get out, move on. I always avoid zombies altogether at night. It gets dark at night. Try walking around in a house without electricity with windows covered up or even try walking in the country many miles from street lights.

I would love to try. However, the security would probably be as big as the party (at current server capacity) at which point any number of things could happen. One of the guards would probably massacre the disarmed partiers and as many guards as they could. A skilled bandit could infiltrate the facility kill a bunch of partiers and security. An organized group could have a blast killing everyone. If there is no security and anyone can carry a pistol in, it is just going to end in blood. Why let them stop us though, let's do it anyway!

Sounds like you are playing the wrong game. You have to be at the keys to run/walk, you need to be looking around checking your surroundings. There is no need to disconnect quickly or disconnect often. If you want to end your session, just do it right. If you take damage, lose blood, your screen will give you an idea of how bad.

Alright since no one here wants any, as soon as I have the house to myself, I will just travel to the coast and play santa.

Tulga. I wouldn't log out in town, anywhere. Also, unless you advertise your server, most people won't bother to figure out the server. Way too much effort.

I see you are in EST time, as noted in the original post, my only playtime is noonish to 4pm your time. You will be available tomorrow, not in school?

do you have a tl;dr for the summary too. I am all for reading lengthy posts, just not when it is another post on fixing KoS and combat logging.

Reset on purpose, not to escape a bug or glitch, stuck in walls, trapped in debug fields? Seriously? Let me think. Run to the coast (only if you must restart on the coast), drop everything you have except a pair of shoes, a pocketless t-shirt, and your flashlight with battery (if you still have it). Good as new. Just look out for anyone that picks up your old kit.

I have an extra M4 and plenty of rounds. Unfortunately, I don't really have time to deliver them. I'm sitting somewhere north of cherno/balota. I was trying to run east without going straight through that madness to find some random to give some equipment I have stocked to. Not the M4 though, I am not that kind of brave.

I was thinking bandits were anything that moves.

At coast the other day, I tried to check for backpack. Ran into a guy with a bat. Despite avoiding him, he followed me and started swinging. I ran away, he looked for an easier mark. Made my way inland. Today I am kitted out, thinking about finding some guy swinging a bat on the coast. I speculate he has died many times, still picking up scraps and forcing engagements immediately. He probably dies constantly and hates the spawns.

I am not surprised that is normal. Most people would want 3PP: off because on is easy mode. 24/7 day is also easy mode. Does it really matter if it is 24 hour daylight? How many people play 24 hours straight! Just find a 3PP: off that is in day cycle when you are most likely to play.

If only they had thought of that before it was released for early access, we could all be enjoying screenshots.

Mine is inaccurate due to staying logged in steam with the game open 24/7 when I was home alone for the holidays. It says 250 probably actually half that.

I think somethings rarity is more a matter of perception based on where one frequents. I would consider something rare if one can check an area with multiple places that it might spawn, before it has been looted by other players, many times and still not find that item. If someone else has been there, they may have picked up the item you want up. I am constantly in Military facilities and the only item I believe to be truly rare that spawns there is a long range scope in pristine condition. The silencer, whomever said that, is not rare. I saw it spawned in NWAF in 4 different places yesterday just after the server restarted, all of them were pristine. The camo jacket can be slightly rare, but probably moreso, because everyone is picking it up when they see it. I thought the camo vest was rare, today being the first time I saw it, but then I saw 2 more after picking one up (all pristine). The hunter's backpack is in every (almost) barracks, there are usually approx. 3 backpacks per barracks that spawn and more often than not it is the hunter's pack. I rarely see a mosin, but I realize I am not looking in the right places. I heard rumor they wanted to lower the number of M4 spawns, I believe they have done that (I never read dev notes). I remember it used to spawn all over the airfield and it was always the first glimmer of hope I would find. Now I find plenty of ammo and see maybe one M4 in 2 hours of moving from one base to an airfield hitting all the military buildings and checking under bunks.

Totally agree. I have a problem that makes me unable to walk away from a mag until I have emptied it into my inventory. I played probably 8 hours (on one server) the last 2 days. I have 1 ammo box with 600 rounds of 5.56 and another that is probably 50-60% (300+). I have also picked up some mosin ammo and I have like one stack of 45acp. Not sure how to dupe. I could have done it on accident, it is not like I keep an accurate count of my rounds as I pick them up. Usually stop in the woods and restack them to 60 and see how much space I have.

When I was sneaking around every square inch of isolated towns, I was having the same problem. I even tried sneaking up behind one during this period and still got agro from 20 feet away. Honestly, I think they behave so sporadically that it suggest they are not "working" appropriately. They can, however, be snuck up on, I have done it since. Get an axe to kill them with, step back as they attack and then rush them and attack. I am currently shooting them. Mostly for the practice, but I also have ammo to burn. Today I snuck into a building a zombie was in front of, only to get agro while I was looting. Kill them before they have the chance to surprise you.
