here is a short start to my gun idea and features list. there are more than guns, such as grenades and mines and clothing. I have another idea post coming up. i have about 100 guns to my gun lists but ill post them when the new category is up. not all the gun ideas are mine but most of them are. one of the guns qualifies at my antique gun idea where there are a few older unique guns available to find in museums and some houses. im assuming day z takes place in the future. because of this thes guns wouldn't be prototypes any more and may be widely used. if you're talking about the tar 21 as prototype, its not. its the gun used by the majority of the idf.

First off add more of all guns. more pistols, more snipers, more shotguns, more everything except maybe only a few more ar's. change up shotguns so they are all more different. add attachments for guns. there should be no preset guns with scopes except snipers and even snipers you should be able to change the scope. this includes no revington w/ flashlight. you can find attachable flashlights and scops and barrels and bipods etc. you should be able to find guns with attachments on them, but at random and you need to be able to change them up. maybe have so antique guns added such as ww2 guns and some ww2 memrabilia. CHANGE ALL MAGS. there shouldn't be a macrov mag. there should be 9mm mags with x # of bullets. you can still decide that a macrov can only use 9mm mags with 9, 12 and 15 bullets for say but for many guns you should be able to use the same mag. the only difference in sound should be the bullet claber. a gun shouldn't be louder for shitz and giggle. there should be reason. with this said scilencers should also be attatchments and not build on to the gun. maybe you can have multiple types of scilencers for not all would fit on a gun. lastly there should be many clothing options. clothing is and easy easter egg that doesn't create unbalanced gameplay. you can have fixed clothing you get from different areas. clothing can save to a character so if you find it once you always have it. also clothing can be givven for achivements. you should also have spraypaint that can give guns camo and lots of otheres. for instance if you introduce moltove cocktales then the lighter found with it can be different each time or it can also be unlocked with achivements and tasks. if you feel like it you can also add missions or tasks for these such as kill a fixed amount of zombies or people. maybe even have isolated dungeon like areas with npc humans that can provide equiptment both for newly spawned players who dont want to scavange for a gun and for players who have invested a lot of time and want the best guns and a challange. finaly (for real this time) you can have items that spawn in fixed locations or spots such as for WW2 guns they can be found only in museams and maybe a pre modded db shotgun with a scope on it can be found only under the bed in a unique cabin thats hard to enter and is gaurded by lots of zombies. the list goes on but this will be my input for now. i belive i have one othere post that also has many ideas. idk if i repeated any. if so sorry.

I dont like it too much. there is too much tech involved for a zombie appocalypse; however, this did give me an idea, im sure its been said, but in a simmilar measure to spotting snipers there should be a scope glint just like you can find in real life. -
not bad ideas. with the mags, i know that they arn't the same, but im sure you can bend a mag into shape, maybe its not recomended but in the account of a zombie appocalypse im sure its possible. this could be implimented into a crafting system that i also have a post on.

the problem with all domesticated animals is that you cant domesticate anything in a few secconds. it takes ages to train a horse or dog. if it was from pre apocalypse then it would work but that would be too unlikely and would ruin the realism. even with domesticated horses, try walking up and putting a saddle on it and riding it. its not just done. same goes for dogs and birds

OK here is my idea for crafting make it symple. get rid of ammo conversion and add that into crafting. have three slots for items that lead into the finished product/s. first. tin cans and such can be changed into scrap (diff from scrap metal) this scrapp stacks in groups of 5 or 10. any mag that uses the same ammo type can be converted with one scrap to any other mag of the same ammo type (needs to consider bullet amounts like in current version). crafting will need some aditional ideas to be implemented. introduce leather and other basic materials to be the essence of crafting. backpack with enough leather will be upgraded either up a teir or adds a slot or a mixture of both. this would work for an alternate ammo system: if you could find loose ammo then. you can make empty mags. gunpowder and scrap or brass can make 10 9mm ammo of the chosen type (9x18 or 9x19). 2gunpowder and 2 metal/brass can make larger ammo types etc. make tools more plentiful so one must chose what tools he wants. a saw, you can add a jewlers saw to any bullet recipe to make homemade hollowpoints (if you dont know this is realistic, if you saw the tip of a bullet properly if will act as a hollow point) hollow points will have slightly diff stats such as better with headshots and more dammage but less acurate and less velocity. the crafting system will replace the combinding system and add more. for instance, you can mix assorted spray paint and a gun for a camo or loose twigs for a ghilli style gun cammo to enhance your ghilli suit look. you can also do this to enhance some clothing or just change the look. this will also be how my idea of seperatable gun attatchment where a scilencer will be crafted together with a aplicable gun to make a scilensed gun. the same goes for bipods, optics, barrels, slides (flashlight lazer pointer etc.) i'm not gonna go more in depth with the system, but if you read my or anyone elses ideas im sure you can find a way to impliment it. remeber it wont be the core of the game or anything like minecraft it will just add to customizability and flexability.

i think you pretend you know about guns, but you dont. a scope is an attachment that goes on a gun rail. after it is tightened on it is good to go. some scopes work diffently but just about all are easy and simple to use. obviously guns that dont have rails cant use the attachments, but in the meentime most every other gun is that simple.

ok so i am an advocate of having many guns implemented in the game. many can argue that it wouldn't work; however i have a posible solution. the map can be divided into sections kinda like a ven dyagram with some overlapping. since many guns are simmilar, such as two 50cal snipers are simmilar enough that if there was only one it would still work. so if there are 5 50 cal snipers, all will bes simmilar aside from looks and maybe small variations in acuracy, dependability, stability, fire rate and scopes. to implement 5 guns would make no sence... unless we use my system. the map's diff sections will spawn diff types of guns for instance, section a could have a as50, akm, mp5 etc. and section b can have a barret, ak47 (or other simmilar gun to the akm) and a mp7 or uzi or other smg 9mm. this system provides 2 things. variables to extend the new feel of the game and insentive to move around the map. if a player prefers the look, or even the stats of a gun then they can go specificaly to a part of the map to look for it. right now people are mostly in cherno and electro and experianced players in the nw airfield. with this addition people will be encouraged to more to smaller cities and create a more spacious world. this will also work with my idea with some fixed item spawns. this can include a museum in a small city without much else to offer for an antique item and also maybe a gold deagle in adition to a normal deagle found only in military in a sertain section and the gold only in a high ranking officer's office. this is a concept and its far from finished so dont critisize the ideas. i will accept if you think the concept is bad but i dont want angry comments saying that a deagle shouldn't be implimented. thaks and ill keep up the posts.

i find it interesting how you point out the lack of realism in cod. i specificaly noted that there was no inspiration to take any form of realism from cod. all i said is that there are many guns in cod and without them it wouldn't be too succesful. i also noticed that u find the need to be verbose. your lack of social intuity has directly caused my lack of caring towards your posts. maybe if you spent more time doing social things, you would have a realistic expectation to what would happen in such situations as day z.

im not 'insulting' the game mechanics. if a player choses to server hop to find a 1940's machine gun, there will be no imbalance in the game. as to the realism a ak47 is gonna be much more effective than a BAR or a luger to a m1911. if you chose to get one of the guns it puts all other players at an advantage. this is like in the COD series where they implement unorthodox items to add a challange, increase divercity and have a different feel than other items. i know cod isn't realistic but they are renound for their addictive nature and large spectrum of item availability.

look at a as50 and barret. they are both 50 cal. this means that they will do the same damage. they will both have high recoil. they will both be very loud. the slight differencials would be in the accuracy, stability and dependability (assuming there are gun problems in the standalone such as jamming and mud getting stuck etc.) so the two guns will be simmilar; however there will be a prefrence and if a player likes a variety of guns then they will travel to all corners of the map to find their desired guns. since this game is supposed to be realistic, the variety of guns would help accomplish the goal. in real life if you go into a guns store there would be hundreds of types of guns. in a zombie appocalypse, they would be horded and spread arround to create a ridiculous amount of gun variety.

the guns with more fixed spawns would be mostly atiques. the point of antiques is that they are cool looking and fun to have, but they lack the practicality and usefulness of any other non antique guns. for instance, the luger. i thing the luger looks coll and would be fun to use as i have used it in other games, however since it is antique, it would be simmilar to the macrov with worse accuracy, noise, dependability and most all stats aside from dammage which is determined from the bullet size. there would be few guns, with a small chance of spawn that would be constraingt to a certain area, from instance as i said earlier, perhaps a gold desert eagle. this gun would have no enhanced stats and would be easy to spot since it is gold. the only use for this is that its a gold fucking desert eagle. on top of this, it would have only one spawn point, and have an incredibly low change of spawn. essentialy: it is easier to find any modern guns elsewhere and the antiques would be there only for the variaty and unique factor.

i think it would encourage shooting on sight because the consequenses of diing are much more devestating. simmilar to cod s and d where you dont respond, people care more

true, but that already exists and one player can have only so many guns. also if a gun spawns in a museum, then it will not neccesarly be in one place. also there is still a % of spawns. lastly, an antique gun will be worse than a normal one, its just a easter egg kinda thing, and a gold gun for instance wont be any better than the normal one, in fact worse cuz its visible and shiny. with this said it isn't impresive to have these on a skill base and it istn't any better so the only purpose is that its cool to have and not over powered.

often. mostly weekends 15 no, but i have been in the past, i left them. yes since a few weeks after release i help other team members when i can which is often unless i recently died. teamkilling is bad, if a member teamkills they should prob get a few day ban and if they do it again they should be kicked out of the clan. if a team member killed for the purpose of looting a team member they should be kicked imediatly after being killed. -
i think it would be fun, but it would defete some of the realism and if your not going for realistic there are thousands of ideas that are better. maybe some parts can work but i dont think having aggresive pets in a zombie appocolypse would reflect the most on realism. i agree there should be dogs/wolves but just not at your pet or suicide bomber

im talking bout adding a scope on a gun, you would find the gun and add the scope. the barrel im talking about attachments like a flashlight however that gave me the idea of combinding a saw and db shotgun for instance and making a sawed off.

the only thing i think can be implimented in another way has already been sugested. that is that you can have options to interact with a enemy when behind them or near them. for instance, if snuck behind a sniper you can cut his throght or choke him so he will be uncontious for a min while u teabag him or brake his legs and take his stuff.

by military i meen it will go under the military weapon section. hense you will find it in heli crash sites and airfields.

this is more oriented towards the standalone. probibly tommorow i will upload a idea for a slightly variated gun placement/location system.
