If im logging out legit then i would rather an in game timer, so if something haappens i can take control and avoid it hopefully, rather than leave behind a body that someone can rape without my knowledge.
-
i think it should be like this: If you hit "exit" then you can no longer move your body (so make sure you are already crouched or prone), but you can turn your head (so you can keep an eye out) and get to the inventory screen (for some last minute management). and this should also lower but not un-equip your weapon. and you can hit "esc" to cancel this. If you exit the game any other way then your body should remain bolt upright in game for the alloted 30 seconds. EDIT: Also those who disconnect via alt-f4 and the like should have a big burning sun symbol placed above there character and a message be auto typed in direct chat saying "im a combat loger please kill me" every 5 seconds.

Those who combat log are missing both "the real enjoyment and the point" of playing dayz. Its not about killing or being killed. Its the enjoyment/rush/heart stopping monents brought on by firing or hearing the first shot from a Mosin/M4, knowing that any mistake made could mean the past 4-5 hours of hard graft could be wiped out in an instant. Its about getting the kill without being killed, its about hearing that shot being fired at you and either killing your attacker or evading them like a pro. So i feel sorry to those who's first thought is to hit alt-f4, as they wasted £20 on a game that is clearly not for them and soon enough they wont be playing as fixes are put in place. So i guess you can enjoy it while it lasts, as it will be the many of us who know how to play fairly that will be enjoying ourselves in the long run.

Im not talking about a big glowing sun 5 feet above your head or anything like that. Just like a green ! directly above you head. So it would only be seen if someone is close or already looking at you through a scope.

(Help) Bad FPS. Here are my specs, which part is the problem?

Not really, all they would have to do is implement the above regardless of reason for disconnect, therefore catching Alt-F4 people and the likes.

I think it shoud be 30 seconds. Not only that but i think they should have a certain symbol over the head of the character to show they in the logout period. This way if they are combat logging then the person hunting them can clearly see they are trying to combat log and fire upon them. And those who randomly come accross one (not in battle) know that the person in question is not a threat to them and can peacefully move on. I know that this system would counteract the whole realism side of things, but then again i cant remember the last time someone vanished in the middle of a pub brawl :p

Just me and some friends deciding to do something other than the usual KOS found in Dayz at the moment..... Enjoy :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ty_aPG6Pw8

I can see no reason to not add this back in. My only request would be that if this is to be added that you also stop the zeds from suddenly hitting warp speed to catch up to you (giving you a chance to enter a building once the zed has lost sight of you)

I fail to see what spoilers you are warning of?

Im hoping this will be the case, as (from a server admin point of view) it will stop all the kiddies asking/winging about, whens the next server restart!!!

I think Rockets sig is in need of an update :P

Its one thing to talk about the features that they want to be in the game and to say what they currently have working. Its quite another to actually be able to see these things working in game. EDIT: As much as i also (like yourself) want to see more, i can also see the benifit of keeping some things under wraps for fear of other companies (not naming any) stealing these ideas and making Dayz standout less than it is capable of doing.

Its not that we have not seen better looking games, But its good that things are coming along from the current MOD situation. And people are expressing there joy at the fact that things appear to be heading in the right direction.

so who is going to be the first to do a "breakdown" of the video and upload it, finding all those little hidden gems of info?
