    Torchia's "Guess That Gun!" Challenge

Huh so they are adding the Remington 870 + this gun ? Not quite sure I get the whole no similar looking weapons thing.

Is character movement too responsive ?

Well I wouldn't be opposed to a system where items had weight and the more weight you have the slower your movement is, slower sprint, lower run, lower strafe. So basically you have to make a choice when selecting gear light gear or heavy gear.

    Carrying 2 rifles in DayZ

Carrying 2 rifles should only be done with a hunting backpack that has a slot for it.

    Torchia's "Guess That Gun!" Challenge

    Ahhhh yisss more civilian guns.

Is character movement too responsive ?

Yup moment is the correct word there is no sense of momentum at all in the game. That is not normal movement.
  6. Yea the SVD would be fine. 10 round magazine, stout recoil, low magnification optics no zeroing I believe on a pso optic although I have never used one.
  7. If only Dayz had this type of sway There would be zero need for the crappy dispersion and accessory system.

Is character movement too responsive ?

Yes a slight delay would work fine. I have no clue what a realistic delay would be however.
  9. Those all sound like heavy restrictions that are being brought on due to choppers. Why not just you know not add choppers at all and not have to gimp anything including render distance.

Is character movement too responsive ?

Try to simulate moving like people do in dayz, the jittering the moving about left and right like a blind michael j fox. You would probably last 3 minutes before it drove you insane.
  11. Well that is never going to happen in Dayz because of the engine.

Anyone else think DayZ should switch engines?

Bigger and more graphically demanding than any pc game to date. Star Citizen is far more ambitious than any game has ever been.

    SKS Underpowered

Mosins were all they had. The most effective weapons the Russians had were not mosins but the mass produced sub machineguns that they used in daring risky tactics. Mosins are not accurate they simply are not unless you find a super lucky one or you spend good money to make a mosin accurate.

Is character movement too responsive ?

I am complaining about the movement being strange and not realistic. People walk around like Michael J fox shaking and jumping around like they have OCD and just did 2 lines of blow.

Is character movement too responsive ?

Ill try to find you a gameplay video of it. Experienced players tend to never ever ever sit still, they just randomly smash their s, a, and d keys at random intervals in order to constantly be a moving target. This is a sound tactic never giving anyone a clear shot however it is super unrealistic and unnatural not normal human behavior.

Anyone else think DayZ should switch engines?

Cryengine 3 is being used for the most open and vast game to date. Star Citizen so I doubt size is a problem. Besides all an engine does is render graphic no game engine has any built in constraints on what type of game it can produce.
  17. Those factors all do not matter. What makes choppers "overpowered" is their ability to see everything for miles with absolute clarity. Within 10 minutes of chopper can cover the entire map. A players base that he has done a terrific job hiding and has had nobody come across it for months would be instantly useless because all it takes is a simple pass from a helicopter to see it from 4 miles away cause it will stick out like a sore thumb . The armor, difficulty to fly, and ease to repair are not the problem the problem is inherent to the chopper itself , the problem is its ability to fly.

    Loot placement overhaul?

Wouldn't it be awesome if all the military loot locations were removed all for one. Only the north west airfield would remain. Rest of the map full of civie gear and only 1 spot in the map to get high end military loot. Going there would be a death sentence unless you worked in a group and raided quickly.
  19. All due to coastal spawns. The mod had more player distribution than stand alone. This is probably due to more military spawns being in land, meanwhile in stand alone you got all the military loot you could possibly want on the coast.

Military bases have wayy to much loot

Combine that with people server hopping due to the stupid global hive system and you got people with 500 rounds of ammo after 20 minutes of hopping.
  21. Of course they would. They do it now.
  22. Sad thing is the movement speed in stand alone is still faster than that arcade game in the video.
  23. That will fix nothing people will still go about pvping in 1 or 2 cities near the spawns. Like I said the only true way to fix this is witha a procedural spawn system. No amount of features of coastal spawns will fix this.
  24. You will not die of thirst or hunger. You will just sprint for 5-10 minutes before you find a road or a town and get your bearings straight. The coastal spawns are the problem, far too much of a focus on the coast and the rest of the map is empty.
