  1. Ic now. If we are talking strictly military sniper rifles the .300 win mag would definitely fit the bill as it is probably far more common within the military. It also has the upside of being more popular as a hunting round too.
  2. When you say dedicated sniper weapon what are you talking about ? A caliber that is useful past 800m-1000m ? If that is what you mean then the most common yet extremely effective round for those ranges would be the .243 win it is used extensively in long range target matches due to its amazing ballistics , availability of ammo and its super flat trajectory. .243 win can stretch its legs out past 1200m yet its readily available and extremely popular for hunting all over the world.
  3. There are far better more common rounds that would fit that role and would make more sense. 300 win mag, 9.3×64mm Brenneke , .270 win, .30-06 especially would make alot of sense.
  4. No but in the future it could be nice. Would be a better addition than say adding a .338 lapua or a 5.7 or some other crazy expensive round that is not really used much outside of a few select circles. The .410 is particularly good because it would allow the inclusing of 2 calibers in one shot. .410 means .45 long colt could also be added because as far as I know every .410 shotgun or revolver can also fire .45 lc.
  5. .410 is a really cool round lauded after in the survival community. The .410 can be used from anything like disposing of a snake to taking out a deer with .410 slugs. Lots of survival guns use .410 shotgun shells such as the m6 survival rifle above an .22lr + .410 combo gun. Then theres the very popular Taurus judge and SW governor. Able to take both .410 buckshot + slugs and .45 colt rounds. .410 is just one of those survival rounds that gives preppers a wet dream. It would really fit dayz if they continue with their low tech , civilian survival motif . The taurus judge in particular would be an awesome addition because it would justify adding in a Colt SAA
  6. Yea ballisticly they are worlds apart. This is the root cause of why I dont like the decision to not have certain calibers in the game. Something like a .22-250 for example screams out of a gun at 4500 + fps vs say a 7.62x54r out of a mosin at 2600 fps. Ballisticly these two rounds are so insanely different the time it would take each to reach their targets would be so insanely different, the amount of drop between the two rounds would be crazy different and how much wind affects each round is also vastly different. Having every rifle either perform like a .308 or a 5.56 kinda makes me sad.

good stuff man post this on reddit.

Is character movement too responsive ?

I would hope not that would just get people used to the unreal tournament movement and then if the game gets a stamina and more realistic movement put in place people would go ape shit. Its like 3pp and 1pp. Imagine if they kept 3pp only for the alpha and in the beta they outright removed it due to the corner peeking, people would lose their minds for a solid week or two.
  9. 5.45x39 and 7.62x39 are so insanely different its not even funny. The ak74 is a flatter shooting rifle allowing for more precise medium distance shooting much like the m16 and m4. Meanwhile while the ak47 is pretty powerful it has more bullet drop making longer range shots more difficult. 5.45x39 muzzle velocity = 2,920 ft/s 7.62x39 muzzle velocity = 2,356 ft/s Pretty big difference this allows for the ak74 to be more of a point and shoot weapon that is better for medium distance.

    The Mosin Problem

The pu scope is plenty of scope at 3.5 x magnification for hitting a person at even 1000m + if you have good eyes. The only debilitating factor with the pu scope in real life is the mosin itself not the best long range rifle.

Nighttime in this game is horrible

Night time is pretty atrocious . I got a taste of night time on the EXP servers after about 5 minutes I was like nope this sucks.

    The Mosin Problem

Yea a Fixed power scope is needed. Perhaps a 10x fixed mildot scope although the mildots would probably be useless due to the FOV changing the magnification level.

    The Mosin Problem

I suppose you are right I keep forget the LRS comes with rings already. I always assumed it was just a nude glass and they took the liberty to add the mounting system once it was added to the gun. Think what I should say is the Likelyhood of seeing a modern optic on a mosin is far less likely than seeing it on a modern hunting rifle such as the b95.

    The Mosin Problem

The b95 is drilled and tapped for optics, any pair of rings and you are good to go. Cant say the same for the mosin. You dont need rails to mount optics.

    The Mosin Problem

Blaze is a suitable rifle for the LRS and has been in the game for quite some time.

    The new weapon sway..

What I meant. Not outright removal but no stat bonuses.
  17. The mod was a better game than stand alone currently is. This is merely because it has the great arma 2 foundation. That being said that could change in the future for stand alone.

    The new weapon sway..

For that to happen they would need to get rid of the corny and silly attachment system. I dont see them doing that. They seem to love their RPG aspects in the game FOLDING stock + 30 accuracy. Railed handguard -20 percent recoil + 10 accuracy.

    AKM has been added?

Best part about the akm is the model and the animations. I really love the bolt animation when you fire the model itself is beautiful.

    The new weapon sway..

More weapon sway is always better. arma 3 has great sway would be nice for the gun to sway more the longer it is held up in aim mode, holding up a weapon indefinitely is not easy lots of arm fatigue.

    Weapon accuracies

Yes 100m it works fine if you have the proper plastic parts on the gun which is what the root of the problem is. People don't dislike the dispersion as much as they dislike the unrealistic need for specific plastic parts that artificially increase the guns accuracy.

    The Mosin Problem

200m is short range work all I am saying is if you want to get consistent hits at 800 yards you buy a remington 700 or a Tikka t3. Mosins are fun guns dont get me wrong but they are junk only when compared to any modern rifle. Mosins are affordable and super affordable to shoot but that is where its advantages end.

    The Mosin Problem

By the way the game is going I would not doubt they have attachments for the b95 they would do something like this though. Taticool mall edition of the b95 or something. Or they would add rails so you can mall ninja the heck out of your b95. Dat double bayonet.

    The Mosin Problem

Dude no just no. Mosins might have been acceptable back in ww2 fighting nazis but even withing that war it was one of the worst bolt actions in service. German Mauser, US springfield and the British Enfield were all better designs , and all substantially more accurate. Now any I mean just about any 200 dollar hunting rifle is far more accurate than any mosin you can buy.

    The Mosin Problem

It is not that the mosin cannot mount any modern optic its that its highly unlikely. Why would anyone mount what looks to be a high end tactical scope on a 100 pos rifle ? BTW that picture has the mosin mounted using a scout mount. Scout mounts are far easier to install on mosins but require long eye relief scopes.
