Why stop there why not add stingers or s300 missile systems. I got an even better solution that is balanced. No air vehicles thus no need for escalating means of countering them.
-
Small planes and helicopters too. Hence why they would make zero sense within the context of dayz.
-
Because it simply is not a very common skill. I am not saying eastern europe does not have anyone who cannot fly a helicopter what I am saying is statistically almost no spawned players should spawn if it reflects real life pilot numbers within the population. I merely compared it to the west due to the west having the highest number of recreational pilots due to having the means to pay for the expensive schooling involved. Meanwhile those in poorer areas might have to resort to only getting flight training through military service. That being said the even bigger problem would be maintenance helos and planes are maintenance hogs, they require insane amount of logistical resources to merely maintain in service. Such a thing once the world has collapsed is not even remotely realistic.

WIP broseph. While I don't envision them making food ever easy to find again I am sure the final solution gives the player challenge while not being outright impossible either.
-
Having zombies or really anything else means squat when it comes to how realistic the game wants or intends to be. If you play games to take a break from reality then perhaps Bohemia Interactive games are not up your alley, realism is the one thing they are known for.
-
If you do not enjoy realism then you are lucky 99.99 of the video games out there can fit your needs. Dayz and Arma are only seperated by two things. #1. Their attempts at realism. #2. How mod friendly they are and how healthy its mod community is. To try to appease casual gamers by cutting down on the realism would do a diservice to Dayz as to be honest that is the only major thing that it has going for it compared to the multitude of zombie clones in the market. Realism is the golden goose for Dayz. Without it lets face it , without it it's just another kid down the block touting zombies and survival.

Not even remotely. You have two sides supplying arms steadily to fuel the conflict. Ukraine prior to the war would be a good match however before it was flooded with military weapons, tanks and apcs.
-
So.. when are we going to actually shoot people who aren't still?

Lower the movement speed, add stamina and the problem of teleporting and stuttering will be alot less apparent. Combine that with hopefully network optimization and the problem should be gone in the long term. -
Atleast we get to look forward to threads like this one once stamina and movement speed is lowered.
-
Thats the thing it will probably have none of those things. MG nests are a bit of a stretch the devs don't even want to add a LMG, though the pkm is possible. Planes are not planned AFAIK , helicopters were in the old timeline but who knows if that is going to be in since helicopters would make no sense in dayz especially with the small map. Unlike the mod This will hopefully not be Arma with zombies.

You can't use Syria or any war zone as a realistic example of what the firearm situation would be in Chenarus. Syria is an ongoing war with both sides having healthy logistical supply chains of weapons and munitions constantly flooding the nation with their wares. Chenarus is a situation where society completely collapses there are no outside factions importing weapons and ammo at their leisure. Those said factions are probably in the same circumstance as Chenarus and are dealing with their own outbreaks.

Let's hope not.

Dog fighting................. people are seriously advocating for dog fighting in a Survival game...
-
That is rather accurate imo for simple hip fire. I rather see a forced free aim, no crosshair solution like in Red orchestra 2. It not only is good for gameplay but it visually looks terrific.
-
These are the guns that can fire 7.62x25 right?
-
Yea that's why we need force free aim like in red orchestra 2 so simply drawing a dot on the screen is not viable
-
I like the new crosshair over the dot. That being said I wish they got rid of the crosshairs all together and added some forced free aim. Make hipfire unreliable and hard for anything past 10 feet.
-
I thought the intentions were to better control gameplay by having inventory of every single item that spawns in the world. It just seems the devs having absolute knowledge of every single item that spawns in game is a great way to fine tune the gameplay so it meets whatever vision they have. I also can't help but feel that it would be one surefire way to possibly end duplication of items and at the same time make it easier to punish those that find ways around said system.
-
It really wouldn't though. Groza is not common at all and reneging it to 9x39 is a great way to supplement the caliber. Especially when you already have the vss , the only other options nearly look identical to the VSS. Meanwhile this gun in 9x39 looks nothing like the VSS and would be great. @ above in regards to bullpups. Bullpups are not that great they universally have crappy triggers and the location of the magazine leads to problematic reloading in the most important military stance, prone.

if you're going to have persistence then the corpses have to STAY
gibonez replied to anarky321's topic in Suggestions
Reminds me of this old but great suggestion. Simply making the gear on the player ruined after some time would fix the loot problem. -
Why not remove the crosshair completely.
-
Yea either it uses or is as complex as ACE artillery or don't bother at all. Nothing bigger than maybe a light mortar would work so either a m224a1 or a type 93 mortar. That being said I doubt it would make sense in Dayz since Dayz will not be about clan battles or squads duking it out. Dayz looks primarily focused on low tech, survival. If they were to add a mortar however the single biggest benefit would be the new crafting component due to the shells.

New update broken? I'll try to be constructive

I hope they go forth with their old idea of the more populated the server the higher your chances of finding loot are. This way even with the more restrictive central loot system joining empty servers to gear up is not rewarded. -
Well to be fair it is A post soviet nation .45acp should be rare there. The only real place .45 acp is common is the US.
