Here I will give a very clear example of how animations and stances could solve this problem of bandits and heroes. This would just cover one animation of course, this system would infact have every single animation be different between the hero and the bandit. This is the heroes standing rifle stance. Now here is the bandits standing rifle stance from the same angles. Now from the front and the side profiles both stances would be very different but neither is better than the other both stances offer the same benefits and ideally height profile for the player. The good thing is that immediately most players will know what type of player the other is by how he is standing or running or even crouching either creating immediate danger and tension or easing any fear. I just used 2 different animations as an example they dont neccesarily have to use the mall ninja stance if they dont want there are tons of rifle stances that are very different from one another and duplicate the same thing. -

Animation system takes care of that too. I am talking about 2 completely different sets of animations even the standing animation. It should in a way that you immediately notice if the person is a bandit or a friendly just by the stance. -

It does not have to be an immediate visual representation. They can do it with animations. Have completely different animations that are quite different for bandits and heros. then when you see someone from even a distance you can tell if he is a bandit or a hero by how he moves. -
I think its pretty spot on right now. If they remove the erratic jittering I think its darn perfect the test now is to see if adding accessories increases this sluggishness or if its tied to weapons not total weapon weight.

It might just be a problem with conflicted interest I am sure they have been debating this internally for quite a long time. Seeing as Bohemia Interactive have been doing mil sims for such a long time the idea to streamline lots of things for the sake of accessibility cant possibly be going down well. I would imagine tons of the devs inside of Bohemia are simulation and gun nuts thus this probably bothers them greatly. It's a tough choice I suppose, streamline the calibers and reduce the skill gap and frustration of potential new players or go pure realism and cater to the vets and realism people that are playing the game already. If they are really so worried about confusing the new players they could simply have soviet weapons all be steel cased and western firearms be brass cased ammo. -
Looks like the weapon weight thing is in the new free dlc for arma 3. Awesome that dayz and arma 3 dev teams share resources and ideas. Lets hope that stamina system from arma 3 makes its way to dayz too. Also the marksman DLC is reported to completely change the sniping in the game fingers crossed for bipod deployment and weapon deployment on objects and no more silly 100m elevation adjustments. I hope they bring forth real true to life angular measurement elevation adjustment on scopes.

I got an easy way to do it without restricting how the player looks. 2 seperate animation sets. Red orchestra 2 does this the germans and the soviets have 2 completely different animation sets for everything from sprinting to aiming the weapon. This was done to avoid friendly fire and quickly identify small characters from long distances. This could be done in dayz to separate bandit from hero. -

Intially I thought they ment they were adding this. ACE interaction / self interaction menu this is ace mods way to increasing interaction with objects while removing the need for scroll wheel. It was so versatile that it allowed for complex things such as setting up crew served weapons to having the player interact with explosives in game using a visual representation of the explosive to either arm, booby trap, disarm etc. Really good system that has so much potential in a game like dayz. -

Years ago when I first got into riding single track I started off with an old huffy I had. Broke it in 2 weeks and had to walk the bike back to my car 4 miles. The next weekend I got myself a mid tier Trek love it and it did not break the bank. Although I totally get what you mean some of the high end mountain bikes are insanely expensive . -

Adding that option does far more harm than good. Sure you might now be able to respawn and keep playing but it ruins the game for those who want to torture people by forcing them to crawl . Just leave the game running and wait for your character to die of thirst. -

I would scalp 400 baby seals for german offensive grenades in the game. So sexy and so powerful would be amazing for clearing out houses and it has great crafting potential. -
You really cant see it in videos. you really gotta try it out for yourself. Swinging your mouse around leads to your gun catching up to your eyes cant really be seen in videos but can be felt in game.

I think the content is just fine already we already have an insane amount of weapons and accessories not to mention clothing items Art team has been pumping out guns at a great rate not only in quantity but also in quality and uniqueness. What I am waiting for now is gameplay additions and refinements to already established ones. -
The tiny and often easy to add details that are realistic and authentic always do it for me. Tiny things like Different animations for each weapon looking authenticAnimations for accessing your backpackSmoothly blending the animationsThese otherwise tiny touches always do it for me. I hope they add this weighty feel to the player movement too would be amazing for dayz to have a sense of player weight when moving around the game. Momentum and weight .

Yup this great. I love the way some of the heavier guns feel when swinging them around almost makes you put more though and effort before you fire off a shot. Gone are the days of just mindlessly shooting.

It is huge probably just a placeholder or the devs having a bit of fun. Looks bigger than a 155mm artillery round minus the shrapnel. -
The m4 should be a super rare chopper drop it is after all super modular and versatile if it ever gets its dispersion fixed. In regards to the m4 the initial anger was that not so much that the m4 was in the game it was that it was put in first over an ak74 or akm thus they assumed they would have a focus on Western Military weapons. This is the same reason people freaked out at the april fools joke that featured a heavily railed sniper rifle with an m203. While I cant say that the grand majority of the community wants one weapon type or another I can definitely tell you a sizable portion wants a Russia/ Eastern Europe focus. While I can't tell how big of the community they consist of I can tell you they are pretty vocal in at reddit a community that is usually more concerned with showing off their character and wanting the game to be easier.

I wouldn't mind a single pocket slot in the shirt being the dedicated ammo slot for reloading weapons without magazines or stripper clips. Single slot that is perhaps red in the shirt that you automatically feed from when pressing r.
