I am sure the anti military, realism community would be far more willing to have these things be in game instead of full blown helos.
-
They can't do that without acknowledging how flawed the global hive system is. Having a character be shared accross all public servers opens the doors to these problems.
-
They aren't going back to the loot system as much as the loot system they had intended to put in was not working correctly or as anticipated. I will simply assume that items will still be rare in the future though not to the point of this past patch.
-
Wait for stamina and a realistic movement speed to be added. Map wont feel so small.
-
They will probably be wiped eventually. Wipes seem to happen randomly and without notice.
-
Yet it would be unrealistic as these weapons are both not issued without optics. It would be like issuing an m40a3 or an m24 with irons. The change was good, not only will it clean up the spawns it is based on reality.
-
It is low magnification about 2x so it will function very similar to the kobra.
-
Good move. PSO optics elevation adjustments would not work with 7.62x39 or 5.45x39 the pso is weapon specific and having them only spawn on the SVD and VSS with their respective reticle and elevation adjustments is a big boost to realism and gameplay. AK weapons receiving AK specific optics is great.

AHHHH yiss

You mean as in Arma 3 is getting ruined by Dayz mod clones ? Because if that is what you are suggesting I have to disagree, the only zombie mods thus far epoch and breaking point have seen luke warm receptions from the community. The #1 most hyped mod for arma 3 seems to be ACE3. It appears that standalone extracted all of the survival fans from the arma series and arma 3 is now left with mostly mil sim fans.

Ok see that I can believe. Home made mozzies using frames from bicycles, a small motorcycle engine and various other tools that is relatively believable. I just don't buy the whole random survivors all somehow knowing to pilot million dollar rotary flight machines. Mozzie in particular could be homage to one of the pioneer post apocalyptic movies.

More like you will crash.

ummm So no military training as a soldier or not. I do know you are right that Helos were confirmed a while back but like all things this early in the game they are subject to change. I am hoping the devs saw the communities hesitation to military items and helicopters in particular and might have decided against including them. The devs have a golden chance to create a unique game something that is like nothing out in the market, not including helicopters and thus further separating Arma from Dayz would be the right approach imo.
-
They cant even fly them period. Not talking about using the weapons systems or radar systems on a helo. Military or civilian helo it does not matter they all fly with the same concept of rotary flight. It is simply not something that any regular person can pick up it requires extensive training.
-
mil turrets as a means to create complexity with sniping and at the same time offer greater loot variety by having greater optic difference.
-
It simply does not work that way. Training a pilot is not something you can just teach it requires alot of time, good instruction and resources. Look a isis they have captured dozens of helicopters and jets since the Syrian civil was started years ago including a blackhawk. Want to know how many helos they have on the air ? ZERO they have tried everything they could from hiring people to teach them to fly to using simulators and guess what it just did not work out for them and were never able to get the helos off the ground. This is ISIS we are talking about a large scale wealthy, terrorist organization. What chances do you think a bunch of ordinary citizens with no military experience and no resources would have.
-
Are you trying to imply that it is easy to pilot a helicopter or even that a regular person would even know how to take off in one ? Piloting a helicopter is not something you pass on via word of mouth, it requires thousands of hours of flight time with an instructor to even begin to feel competent , then that is met with tons and tons of hours in a simulator. Helicopter and airplane training is so expensive and insane that the Government was forced to change how the gi bill gives money to Veterans when it comes to schooling due to veterans taking helicopter classes were hemorrhaging money.
-
Ok fine then. Let's duplicate that via randomized spawning in game. When you spawn you have a .05 percent chance of having a character that can pilot a helo. That percentage is also probably really really generous.
-
I suppose that is correct what I am saying is since your player is clearly not a soldier that already makes it highly unlikely that he would posses pilot skills thus making it really unrealistic to have every survivor be able to fly in game. It is simply not realistic and bad for gameplay to have air vehicles. It does not fit within the mold of what Dayz survival aspects are thus far. The devs are carefully creating an intense survival game at the moment and having air vehicles would be such a drastic change from the rest of the game.
-
Yet they do. They have one very clear background and that is not military trained that alone would drop the possibility of being able to fly to near zero. The devs have mentioned many times before that these are just regular survivors not soldiers or pilots or special forces.
-
Yet none of those even remotely approach the amount of skill and practice that is associated with Helicopter flight and maintenance.
-
Devs already said they are ordinary people ordinary survivors with no military training, they are not avatars or whatever you want to make them. Just regular dudes with no mil training trying to survive.
-
Still not realistic. Look at Isis a well funded terror group estimated at 60k strong.. Still does not have a single pilot for the large amount of captured helos and planes from the Syrian military. Trained pilots are incredibly rare.
