    What clothing set/weapons would you add if you could?

    SV- 98 Iron sights, Built in bipod, Can take suppressors. 7.62x54r. Great potential rifle for high end sniper rifle in dayz. Russian made so it fits the setting better and wont be jarring, versatile, accurate and takes various optics due to the rail.

    One in dayz is a regular 10/22 although realistically nothing prevents it from taking optics and there is no .22lr suppressors to mount on.

    errrrr .22lr is actually used alot by the military the Russians in particular uses a .22lr precision rifle to take out guard dogs, or guards with silent head shots. SV-99 a suppressed precision russian .22lr rifle used by the Russian Military Or Israel also uses the .22lr the ruger 10/22 in particular as a silenced , precision short range rifle for riot control and guard elimination.

    This would be pointless and time consuming. 5 akms for instance would be extremely hard to find because of the sheer number of civilian spawns. You would just end up wasting your time. As for server hopping that is an entirely different problem one the devs must address eventually with either a log in timer or making loot disappear in the vicinity of the player joining.

    It makes perfect sense , it could be a survivor who didn't make it and left the rifle in his home. Or a civilian owned akm. Or a squad police officers taking shelter in the home when they were overrun. There are plenty of reasons for high end loot to potentially spawn in civilian homes as long as it is in low low numbers. Reason you would trek northwest is because you cannot reliably loot civilian houses in hopes of finding the specific item you want. If you go to military bases however your chances of finding what you are looking for increases thus making it a better spot to hit.

A stance system + weapon resting + Arma 3's bullet penetration system = LMGs actually being powerful machines of destruction Imagine a situation of a squad of people being held up inside of a building meanwhile you and your squad deploy pkm and begin to rip into the building suppressing the people inside limiting their ability to return fire and keeping their head down while they take some casualties from rounds that penetrate. Meanwhile your squad closes the distance and lobs a grenade into a window or breaches and clears the suppressed players.

    I kinda want the opposite. I want military spawns to be far more restrictive and specific to their loot meanwhile Residential spawns having a chance to spawn anything in the game at very low chances of course. So for instance on a fresh restart and the server full of loot there could be say 2 akms in all of the military loot points, meanwhile there would be something like 5 akms in all of the residential spawn points in completely random buildings. This would provide more of an incentive for people to not just run straight into military zones and it would also increase randomness in the loot system something that is a good thing. You should never go into a building and expect to know what will spawn there. This just leads to many buildings being ignored or never entered.

    How would it hinder our gameplay. If we get disconnected or crash something that rarely happens to me I wait to rejoin no problem. If this means server hoppers are waiting 15 minutes to hit 3 servers when in the past it meant they could hit 5x as many servers wiping them clean then I am all for it. My minor inconvenience is worth it if it means server hoppers are slowed and annoyed.
  9. Red orchestra 2 To further demonstrate how perfectly Red Orchestra 2 does LMGS here is a video of how it handles LMGs in prone/deployed on objects VS standing unsupported. As you can see when the bipod is deploy the LMG provides a very stable heavy low recoil platform, that is devastating at all ranges. IT is able to lay down accurate very consistent fire to suppress and eliminate targets. When standing however the weapon is treated as if it is extremely heavy and thus can only be shot via hipfire and with the amazing free aim this results in a very bad shooting platform where it is only useful at extremely close range. The players movement speed is also slower when you have an LMG to further demonstrate the LMGS weakness while giving it free reign to put emphasis on its strengths. Dayz could take the same approach to LMGS in order to balance them while also not limiting them. Making them force the player to deploy in order to provide accurate long range fire while making them pretty useless undeployed would be an awesome game mechanic.

    big problem. The .22lr should be the rifle you absolutely most often see in peoples hands far more common than mosins, or even shotguns. The sporter along with all magazine fed weapons should spawn in with atleast 1 magazine already inside of them empty of course. This would make the weapon far more viable for defense and zombie elimination.
  11. I hope the new additions to the map are similar to Atlis I really like the rocky Mediterranean terrain in that map. Big hills, rocky terrain, rockfaces , long sight lines on dry arid land. Perfect land for setting up a base imo nothing can sneak up on you and you have great visibility. Having such a drastic area of wilderness that extends west of the map that is far less monotone than the densely forested east would be pretty awesome.
  12. Red orchestra 2 Animated Iron sights Love how the iron sights animated up and down and the iron sights realistically let you adjust up to 2000m just like a real life mosin. The way this game treats the pu scope is also true to life and elevation adjustments move the reticle inside the scope.It also accurately elevation adjusts to the max possible on the pu scope 1300m. The attention to detail is amazing in this game even when you lay on slanted surfaces your scopes and iron sights reflect that. Another thing that Red orchestra 2 does that no other game to date has ever done imo is give LMGs or machineguns the power they deserve. To me RO2 is probably the closest any game has gotten to show how much of a powerhouse lmgs are how having one in the right static position is absolutely devastating. The best thing Red Orchestra 2 does however is the gun mechanics shooting in this game is rewarding yet challenging, it is super intuitive and visceral. This feels absolutely nothing like a twitch shooter and feels so alien to 90 percent of FPS out there. The way they achieve this is by forcing free aim on everyone and then having really tight shooting controls. The end result is Rifles feel like rifles, SMGS feel like SMGS and pistols feel and behave like pistols. There are countless other things this game does right and part of the reason is because much like Dayz Red orchestra 2 is a game that would not be possible if it were done in a Triple A studio with big box publishers in charge of the game. Like Dayz this game is unforgiving and breaks so many of the general rules that games follow, it does not care about holding your hand or making the game accessible to the player it focuses on realism and having authentic representation of what ww2 combat would be like along with very unique unorthodox shooting mechanics that just GEL. Although I am sure the devs have played it before if you guys have not I highly recommend you guys to give Red orchestra 2 a shot it does so many things perfectly and hands down probably has the best gunplay I have ever experienced in any FPS.

    That is not how respawning loot will work. It will not work at all how it works in the mod. Loot respawning will simply spawn loot every couple of hours across different quadrants of the map loot will not be triggered by players.

    The minor inconvenience that would rarely happen when you crash or lose connection is well worth it to stop server hoppers. I would gladly wait 300 secs after being disconnected if it stops server hoppers or annoys them.
  16. If anything the last few patches should have restored faith in the game. New semi realistic sway mechanicsNew weapon dexterityredesigned movement system that removes alot of the unreal tournament movementNavmeshIt is these tiny details that make the game better.

    Loot respawning is not going to do a daam thing to stop people from server hopping the only thing it will do is give those people even more chances for loot.

    Downside to ruined clothes

    Yea that sounds terrible. Ruined or good condition clothes should have zero bearing on how much damage you receive from gunfire. Ruined clothing should behave like ruined clothing, they drop your items or lose inventory spots. Ruined backpack can no longer be carried on your back cause the strap broke off etc.

    Just demonstrating a diverse cast of rifles in 5.45. Not that diversity is needed of course they could just offer the ak74m , krinkov and rpk 74 and call it a day and all would be fine. However if they absolutely must demonstrate variety it is possible with 5.45 not that it's needed.

    Yea hoping 7.62x54r is added eventually perhaps when the SVD is added. I do agree that the lack of a realistically chambered ak74 is a huge loss, pretty sad especially when you consider it perhaps has far more relevance and probably makes more sense to have that weapon alone compared to any other one in game. The Ak74 is the workhorse of just about every baltic and post soviet state.

    While not inherently inaccurate pistols are just far harder to shoot than rifles. Rifles are far more stable of a platform to shoot I would imagine sway would be far higher on a tired person trying to shoot a pistol heck I see lots of noticeable sway when shooting a pistol past 50 yards and that is when I completely calm and in my resting heart rate.
