What are good game mechanics/ features from other games that work in dayz ?

Acre in Dayz. We all know people will be using 3rd party chat problems anyway so why not incorporate them in a realistic way ? Spawn everyone with a radio force acre for everyone joining a server and then have players give each other radio freq to talk to each other. Why this is better than the usual method of side chat + 3rd party voip ? This is better because of the gameplay potential it allows. You can eavesdrop on other players by finding their channel and being within their broadcast range.You can set up radio stations with this provided you find a strong enough radio and once barricading is in you could potentially set up a radio tower.Far higher quality voice in game with acre along with fantastic directional audio.Squads of players could no longer be communicating tactics while completely being silent in game. Acre simulates real life radio use so if you speak into a radio to talk to a person a mile away you will be heard nearby. -
Not having guns spawn with empty magazines is nearly the same as spawning a revolver without a cylinder or a bolt rifle without a bolt. For a weapon to function to the best of its ability it needs to have all of its parts and be a complete system for a magazine fed weapon that indeed means a magazine. At the very least all magazine fed weapons should spawn in with 1 empty magazine that should be like bare minimum.

no just a realism nut. There are already more than enough guns in game that would easily take the LRS , b95, m4, sporter 10/22, and the upcoming cz 527 they would all be suitable rifles to allow the LRS to be mounted on.

Bipod never did anything to stop sway or make the weapon more stable. All it did was decrease the cone of fire. The bipod being removed from the mosin is good, hopefully they outright remove the compensator and only allow the pu scope to work on the mosin in the future.

Although I know its impossible I would love this. While no deformation of course I would love realistic slow off road speeds and the heavy damage that comes to vehicles that try to off road with weak axles . -
Pretty simple suggestion. Do not allow people to spawn into a server if there is already a player within 100m of the place you are attempting to spawn into. This would stop ghosting to some degree .

I disagree. I would find the gameplay far more immersive if optics and other accessories were far rarer and if they only came in specialized versions of guns that were prebuilt. It is not like you lose the ability to remove the optics and parts and attach them on other weapons in different configurations you would absolutely still have that option. The only thing that changes is optics and certain accessories become far more rare and the weapons spawn in greater varieties with different attachments. I have no issue on how easy it is to swap optics I have an issue with walking into a store or a military barracks and running into this. A random bipod just laying on a shelf for no reason or a 1000+ dollar tactical scope just left on top of a bunk. It does not feel natural unlike 99 percent of the loot in game. It also creates a problem where you have far more loot locations for these parts thus far more of these things around the map. Limiting them only to spawning on weapons and even then being limited would result in better scarcity of optics and high end accessories. Something I personally think would be good and put greater value on these expensive addons. -

If they do add a new terrain to the map I really hope it is drastically different from the Eastern and western parts of the map. The West features rolling hills and flat earth with little forrests this is a drastic change compared tot he heavily forested east. I wonder if a huge swamp or wetlands in the north would fit. -
I think thats the only thing anyone is ever asking. Arma 3 handles pistols in a good way. Heavy sway a small sight picture makes accurate shots hard. Yet at the same time nothing is technically restricting you from hitting a persons torso at 200m with a pistol. If you are skilled enough and take your time to make sure the shot is perfect you can hit a person at that range yet the heavy sway with pistols makes it so most people are relatively ineffective with pistols at a distance.

He probably lives in an military town. Heck in just about most of the world military bases are super rare and usually isolated far from civilian areas. The fact that there are so many military camps in a map as small as chenarus is pretty insane.

Nobody is a bandit or friendly unless there is a bandit or hero system in the game. Wearing a mask and thinking that person is automatically a bandit is wrong.

Just take it for what he ment. It is far too easy right now due tot he current way accesories spawn seperately to not only find a military weapon but to fully kit it out. Only way to stop this is to limit how often accessories spawn and thats still a big maybe or to just restrict accessories to spawning with weapons in ultra rare chances. This would also fix the problem with unrealistic attachments on weapons or unlikely attachments. No longer would having every single mosin take a LRS be completely unrealistic but instead finding one would mean that someone took the time to modify an old mosin to take modern optics. Generally this is just a good way to limit optics something that should by all means be the rarest and hardest things to find in a post apocalyptic environment. These things would be the first to break and get damaged thus making them daam near impossible to find when actually looking for one is critical. -

all the military buildings do now is let them gear up on the coast then continue to pvp on the coast. Making the NWAF the only reliable place to score military gear means if you spawn in Cherno you have to traverse the entire map to get there. If you spawn in Berenzino same thing, it does not matter where you spawn you would need to travel and explore to get to the military loot. It would also be far more dangerous too since a number of players will be waiting there. The less military locations and less military loot in the game the better.

Yea who cares . The reason NWAF should be the magnet for these people is because it is the furthest point on the map helping migrate people away from the coast. It forces people to explore the entire map to get to its sweet military gear and even then its at great danger.

Sure but it is far too easy to find scopes in the current method. Having optics not only only spawn on certain weapons in specialized circumstances would ensure that optics are insanely rare. I am thinking that the accessories that you only find on the weapons are merely only the ones that should be rare IE. Silencers, Red dot sights, Acogs, high powered variable power scopes. Bipods, hunting optics, Slings if added, and other civilian accessories would be fine to have spawn separately however the high end accesories should spawn only on guns and in super super low numbers. -

Simple suggestion make it so you need a screw driver in your inventory to mount and remove gun accessories and that it requires an animation to remove them. So crazy that your character instantly removes and reattaches scopes instantly without any tools.

Finally got my hands on an optic the building is 500m away and the sway seems pretty darn perfect for a non tired person holding it without having it rested on an object. This will make shots a little harder thankfully.

Because the person wants a high cap rifle with optics. Instead of just picking up optics like now and slapping them on whatever weapon you happen to find first attaching optics on weapons would involve more though. I agree that should be one of the biggest concerns in the game right next to finding food and something to drink. However what I am proposing by no means results in easier to find or easier to kit out weapons. It would like the kitted out or specialized weapons to be even rarer and harder to find than even now by having to individually find the pieces. Yea and the most realistic spawn location for many of these accessories is on a gun. You won't be finding pu scopes in random garages you would find them mounted on rare mosins that have bent bolts. You will not be finding pso scopes on top of barrack beds they would be mounted on an SVD. But besides the realism aspect this is just a great way to make things that should by means be rare actually be far more rare than they are now. -

I don't like to think so. Nothing would stop a person from removing the pso from the svd and putting it on his akm. I mostly see spawning weapon attachments only on guns as a means to diversify the weapon spawns in an artificial manner whilst at the same time making optics and highly sought after attachments ultra rare if need be. I can tell you this I would absolutely love it if the AKM for instance spawned in multiple different configurations vs just the vanilla version. I see this as a means to increase weapon spawn diversity it would be nice to go into a building and not know if you will find an AKM in a LMG configuration with a drum mag and a bipod or in vanilla clothing with regular wood furniture. This would of course be super beneficial with the highly modular weapons and would serve to eliminate the countless optics I encounter in the strangest of places. -
I am sure you could run that not exactly sue how battle eye treats it though.

True they could do that. Isn't this a better way of not only putting optics in realistic locations but also increasing the rarity of the optics. It sure would clean up some of the loot tables thats for sure.
