Randomized spawning all over the map not only the coast seems to be one of the most requested features. Great idea too since it stops one of dayz biggest flaws repetition. Keeping the spawning dynamic ensures the gameplay remains fluid who cares if some random persons random stash has a slightly higher chance of being discovered the game would benefit tenfold from random spawning.

Only way this works out imo. Is if they go the Operation Flashpoint route. Release the pc version with Zero I mean Zero console influence no considerations made for the consoles lack of input options. No dumbing down no gimping as seen with the gun calibers. Nothing at all on the pc version even remotely done to make the console version easier. Then when that is released start on the Elite version aka gimped dayz version that works on console. The dayz with simplified inventory, controls etc that work with a controller and caters to the simpletons that are console gamers.

:/ sadly we all get the dumbed down version now. They just get it at a inferior frame rate and resolution.

But it will its ensured now. The mere fact that it will be ported to consoles already gimps the pc version. Console considerations have to be taken into account now and the pc version will suffer as a result. Simply put Dayz is now no longer going to be what it would have been had it stayed a true pc only tittle.

Ill add a counter point. It is the worst possible thing to happen to dayz. Being on a console they have to make considerations for console players thus limiting the game on pc.Being on console they have to restrict the controls to the very limited functions of a controllerBeing on console now they are diverting resources and money much of which came from pc gamers into a console version.Being on console the game will now be dumbed down to meet the pallete of the average console gamer. IE. Caliber dumbing down and reluctance to add 5.45x39, 9x18 makarov and 7.62x54r The news of a console port of dayz is not good for anyone but Sony. It will only end up with a Dayz that is only half as pc focused as it could have been. The game will get dumbed down even further now

They made console games before and guess what it didn't work out. This wont work out either. BI games are not ment for console players they are not casual games. Sadly for Dayz it will get dumbed down even further to meet the pallete of console gamers.

Not on exp. Like 3 hours total on this character and only have a backpack some food and an axe. So good. This is how the game should be everything should take forever to find and acquire and once base building is a thing they should double up on this make things super rare to find since people will be able to horde what little they can find.

Yup the only change done was the caliber was changed to 7.62x39 with the option of a potential varmint 527 in the future in .223 -

Also isn't Obrez just a common word for a chopped up bolt rifle ? Aren't there Obrez enfields and mausers too ? -

Pretty much this. Say the remove zombies all together if removing a cheesy zombies from the game results in butter smooth 100 player servers then do it. What little zombies add to the game is simply not worth it. -

That depends if the survival aspects of the game are fully fleshed out then they could stand on their own without the need for zombies or the sketchy melee system. -

Zombies are just a source of frustration and add nothing to the game. Would be nice for private hives to have an option to remove all zombies as a server option. -
That was never an issue if someone hides something hard enough they should be pretty impossible to find. The problem lies with helicopters having xray vision through heavy Forrest and instantly being able to spot everything in the map in 20 minutes. Flying vehicles opens a can of worms and just brings forth more problems.

Limited land vehicles will not ruin the game . Helicopters certainly can ruin the game. They ruined the mod.

Does not matter you stick out like a sore thumb once the grass stops rendering not to mention people purposely turn down some graphical effects in order to gain an edge.

That is actually in a big mainstream game . Atleast the mall ninja version of it. Pretty comical tbh. No it wouldn't it would fit right in the game does not feel like it intends to be an open world pvp game after all and instead it seems to be taking the survival aspects more seriously. I don't see how having a wide range of military weapons is important in a zombie survival sim if that is indeed what they are aiming for. -

I truly hope that is never added. I doubt it will though seeing as how even in the mod the thermals were removed relatively quickly. -

I will concede that yes the fnx and the m4 might not be "low tech" then again I would consider those two to be at the very high end of their weapon category. Both I assume were added to take advantage and test the new accessory system and both are without a doubt the most versatile and modular weapons in their category hence why I consider them ultra high end. With the m4 you have the de facto special operations firearm that can fit any need and role that is required of it hence why it is adopted the world over as the premier special ops weapon. Then you have the fnx a pistol that comes from the factory ready for a suppressor , a high iron sights for the suppressor the gun was built for modularity so it only makes sense for it to be in the game as a high end pistol. With that all said even these two "high end" weapons are relatively low end in the grand scheme of things and they fit right in with the games other weapons. The great news is the weapon selection continues to improve with more weapons that fit right in with the upcoming lever action rifle and the Russian 870 clone. It is just nice to see the devs not having the same weapons that 99 percent of games have. -

Yup and the devs have done a fantastic job on the weapon selection thus far we'll mostly. They have put in weapons in the game that are unique and feel cohesive towards the setting. Each and every weapon added thus far except for the 101 scream low tech poor rural eastern european setting and most of all they are believable. When I go into a building and pick up the sks it feels authentic the gun along with most of the weapons just fit the setting so much and really gel with the atmosphere. Really awesome to see the devs adding weapons like that such as the cz 527 , the weapon selection thus far is not like 99 percent of games who recycle the same few dozen or so modern guns and add the latest railed flavor of the week on each update.
