That already exists in the form of the m4. Think the reasoning behind a bolt action for .223/5.56 is due to the special characteristics that are achieved through a long 24 inch barrel and bolt action. - Super accurate - Much higher muzzle velocity - Lower recoil thus able to follow your own trace.

All of those are exponentially easier than somehow magically knowing how to machine a part let alone attach it to a weapon without destroying the weapon. -

I know that I was suggesting if they added purely the base model cz 58 that is the most common version it would have none of that. It would especially work in that role since it would not have any compatibility with ak pattern accessories. Vast majority of the cz 58 especially in their current role as reserve unit weapons would be plain.

I love the wood. Its cheap laminated particle board wood but it looks sexy to me. as for a role this could be the defacto 7.62x39 assault rifle since it has no accesories and could then in turn be used as a base low tier weapon. The akm made rare due to side rail mount + other accessories.

Then again how plausible would it even be to find such an obscure bipod for that gun specifically. It would make little sense to find such a bipod in game.

Not sure what any of that is trying to prove. You can mount anything on anything given enough time and effort. Does that mean we need this in the game ? Or perhaps this for the derringer ? Within the context of a survival game and a world where resources are scarce sticking strictly to mil surp and realistic weapon attachments is the best course of action. giving the players the ability to attach optics and accessories that would ordinarily be quite difficult and require substantial work would be counter productive for immersion especially within the world of Dayz where the world supposedly ended and the logistical sources that would ordinarily make these things possible have all dried up. So sticking to realistic/common and plausible attachments is the best approach. Let gun barbie playtime exist in other games where immersion does not matter thus pink scar hs with teddy bear decals don't matter.

I'm not so concerned with how "hard" the game is since difficulty is subjective. However I do believe the more realistic the game is the better it will be.

He will have other options however. I thought he was only lamenting it due to the mosin and LRS are the only real current long range options.

In game LRS has much lower magnification than the new 12x hunting scope. LRS magnification is like 3x-9x or something.

Though it has little to no chance of ever being added I would add the Russian 82mm mortar. Only on the condition that it be just as complex and hard to use as the real life weapon system. meaning the player must set up aiming stakes and use the stakes as aiming points, the player must set up charges on each and every mortar round, the player must set the fuze on every single mortar round, player must load each and every mortar round. The player must adjust the elevation and azimuth on the mortar, he must use a map, ruler and compass for rough aiming solutions, a protractor for more precise solutions but at the end of the day the player must rely on a forward observer for adjusting impacts on targets beyond visual distance. Pretty much bring a mortar into the game with every bit of complexity as the real thing in order to avoid abuse. -
Hopefully this is done when we get another realism pass with the weapons.

Yea so overall it was a realism sweep. They removed placeholders that were going to be removed anyway in favor of realistic attachments.

The new dynamic reticle looks nice but is still inaccurate for hipfire :(

The further Stand alone is from the mod the better off it will be as both a game and as an IP. BIS needs Dayz to stand out and not be anything like Arma in order to diversify its properties. Arma = Military sim Takeon = Comprehensive simulation with various different scopes Carrier Command = Scifi property Dayz = Zombie Survival horror focused on a regular civilian survivor The more steps it does to separate the tittles the better each one has to stand out from each other and not render BI as a developer of Arma variants. -
I feel it will be quite the opposite as anywhere in the map can be a hotspot. Not only that but hotspots will dynamically change as the community starts to discover where certain items are or not.

Thats how it should be imo. Loot should be random enough that you can never go into a building and know what to expect. Everything will hopefully be a surprise.

I am extremely curious as to how it tastes in comparison to western spam. Western Spam pan fried with butter is quite good.

It is going to be a good day when the central loot economy means there is no answer to that question. When you can't look for a specific item and it is completely up to chance and luck.

I am talking mainly about the Instability, bread lines, and general uncertainty of the whole situation. While I would imagine there was alot of hope there was also alot of unknowns due to no longer being under the veil of a political structure that has had a grip on satellite nations for decades. What of it the mp5 in game was made and designed in 1991. -

Public hive must die. The only reasonable hive system should be the central loot economy being tied to private hives and communities being able to link up a limited number of servers to use their own hive. So instead of the horrible massive hive we have no we would have daisy chained server communities of 2-3 servers sharing characters and the vast majority of servers all using their own characters. All servers still connected to the central economy hopefully keeping control and tabs on items generated in game and eliminating duping .
