    The 'war on snipers'

Wind alone wont solve anything. It needs at the very least the removal of 100m elevation adjustments replaced with angular elevation adjustments + transonic bullet dispersion simulation.

    Sa vz. 58

It is not automatic. It is a semi auto civilian version of the sa 58 that has been imported.

Resting your weapon and Universal Bipods

I don't see the need for a universal bipod. Bipods should be used in game sparingly to separate guns and to emphasize how versatile some weapon systems are.

    Sa vz. 58

Yup awesome gun that fits the setting. Daam pretty too.

Rejoice! 5.45x39mm is coming to Dayz

Yup those are indeed nice both are so iconic. Uzi could be the common 9mm smg and mac 10 could be the .45 acp smg.

I fail to see your reasoning. So because there are less ammo types less people will have ammo ? huh . The only thing having less calibers does is make the game easier by making it easier to feed whatever gun you find. Having more and diverse calibers ensure that ammo is hard to find by not only making ammo rare but by also making the ammo that you specifically need harder to find.

No confirmation just something someone that attended pax seems to have gathered from a question. Not sure how 3 full power cartridges is too much. You have 2 full powered cartridges that are the most common for both Nato and ex soviet nations. You have one ex military round that is probably the most common big game round throughout the world. If anything we could use a few more hunting specific calibers that each have very unique qualities that separate it from both 7.62x51 and .30-06. Calibers like. 9.3x64 is extremely popular in Eastern europe and ballisticly it has very unqiue properties that are not found in most other calibers. Unlike the other calibers the 9.3 is not really a long distance round, its most effective within 500m and boy does it pack a whallop . The round has a very step drop making longer range shots really unlikely. Then you have something like the .22-250 probably the fastest production rifle round out there. This .22 caliber bullet screams out at 4500 FPS nearly double that of say a 7.62x39 So there really is no such thing as too many calibers.

The more the merrier I say. Keep it as it gives added value to 5.56. Then add a polish tantal or older ak74 with Bakelite furniture. or they can just rename the ak 101 whatever they do it will be fine so long as its the right caliber.

model and skin looks really nice.
  11. Since the game has free aim already here is a video to demonstrate it for those who are not in the know. It is when your gun moves in 3d space in front of you it creates a more realistic feel to guns and closely simulates real life lack of pin point accuracy and would result in more interesting and fun gunfights. My proposal is to get rid of the unrealistic attachments that affect the weapons accuracy and instead force free aim on everyone then gun accessories such as butt stocks and hand guards reduce the amount of felt free aim. Meanwhile a weapon with no hand guards or butt stock will have greater free aim. This would result in two prong fix to some of the games greatest faults. it would in essence Increase realismIncrease the length of firefights without adding unrealistic artificial barriers on playersEliminate the unrealistic accessory system where parts increase or decrease the magical cone of firePresent a new gameplay mechanic where it is up to a persons taste what accessory he wants on his weapon there is no better attachment it all comes down to personal choice.Could realistically represent shooting pistols without having to resort to insanely unrealistic huge cones of fire.So what do you think, would forcing free aim and having weapon accessories reduce the free aim instead of decreasing the dispersion be a better game mechanic for dayz or should they stick to the unrealistic cones of fire and dev further into that system.

M4A1 Can i be added back to Genral Military?

Ideally the accessories for all weapons will be loot restricted or even better restricted and only spawn on weapons. Take the SVD for instance it should when found spawn with the pso scope and then be a controlled spawn, meaning say 1000 svds spawn throughout all the servers that also means only 1000 pso scopes spawn too. While nothing is stopping someone from removing the pso scope from an svd and putting it on an akm or ak 101 it would also mean you find akms with them far less likely.

M4A1 Can i be added back to Genral Military?

Yes in the United States who knows if it should be common in chenarus. For all we know regular US troops were not at chenarus but instead just a small amount of special forces. Either way the m4 is far too modular and versatile to be a common drop it should be a restricted loot drop along with its accesories.

4gb download new patch for exp?

How are they supposed to text it if it does not rain ? Also correct me if I am wrong but arent these features only on EXP ? so just play stable if you don't wish to deal with testing with unfinished gameplay mechanics.

    The 'war on snipers'

Absolutely however the characters should look and feel civilian. The shooting animations, stances and general mannerism of the characters still feel a little too military imo.
  16. gibonez

    The 'war on snipers'

Well technically they have said in the past the character you play is not a military trained soldier but instead just a civilian survivor.

    The 'war on snipers'

Thats the thing. It does not matter if the shot is at 200m or 1900m the lack of wind, angular elevation adjustments and probably most importantly simulation of transonic instability makes it so its overly easy at any range. Point is even hitting moving targets at those ranges is far far far too easy and should be exponentially harder. So you are suggesting the m4 be a 1 moa gun at 100 yards ? That is insanely accurate especially for a 14.5 inch carbine firing regular military ball.

    The 'war on snipers'

Yea using custom 200 grain hand loaded ammo , plus the mosin is worked on. A stock mosin , using surplus ammo like that found in game will not be hitting anything consistently at 600 yards. Key word is consistently yes you can hit it but not every time.

    Which is better?

Sadly the Cpu market has stagnated not only for amd but also intel. As far as GPUs go however, AMD has Nvidia beat when it comes to price to performance ratio. Their r9 lineup was fantastic for AMD. Nvidia really needs to stop trying to price gouge its customers and try to beat AMD in the bang for your buck category.

    The 'war on snipers'

The ballistic model in the video is so good that I can use my applied ballistic app in real life and it would work in game. now that is real meta gaming.

    The 'war on snipers'

A complex shooting system would solve alot of the games fundenmental problems though. DMRs would once again be viable additions without having the community throw a rage fit due to how easy they are to use. No longer will people complain about a 12 year old sniper killing them from half a mile away. While I am not saying it has to be as complicated as something like this. Even simple wind and angular scope adjustments would solve alot of the problems with sniping while still having it be an enjoyable experience. Long distance shooting should never be something a 12 year old or a novice picks up and masters within seconds especially not in a game with perma death.

AKS-74U confirmed... could this mean...? no...

That would be nice. A few no frills no customization civilian rifles would also be nice. I wonder if the mauser that we saw a long time ago will return.

AKS-74U confirmed... could this mean...? no...

Well according to some of the people that attended pax the .30-06 should make a debut in the form of the m1 garand. So that opens up the doors for a wide selection of hunting rifles.
  24. If it is anything like the Arma 3 , sway, stamina, and weight systems. There will be whining and crying for the first 2 weeks then the majority of the community sees the benefits of such systems and shuts the vocal minority up.
  25. Let them bitch . Within 2 weeks they will stop complaining and adapt.
