    If that is the case than thats awful. Iron sights should allow for medium range shooting and sadly with the way the game is currently set up only optics are viable for anything past 200m.

    Semantics. Point is these are dirty, starving survivors who are just scraping by picking up whatever scraps and tools they can get their hands on. Does it really make sense for them to not only have the tools for the job but the very specific parts seen in the video ? of course not.

    Adding the m16a2 would also give them the ability to add a cool game mechanic with the ability to switch between large and small aperture on your irons. Large aperature being further back for short and medium range shots. Small Aperture for long range precision shots.

    Yea a zero attachment ar would be fantastic doubles the utility of the magazines while adding a lower tier ar into the game. Perfect one for that is the m16a2. High accuracy, low recoil, extremely flat shooting , high muzzle velocity. Accepts bayonet, any m4 magazines, only downside is having to rely on iron sights.

    That is really it. The LRS was removed from the mosin pu removed from the sks and the pso scope not elevate correctly for the akm any elevation adjustments should correspond to the 7.62x54r. The LRS should mount on the cz 527 and the m4. Basically if the gun mounts with easy or no machining in real life It should in game. I love your idea of the mg3 btw.
  7. Why not the following approach. Have the third person camera be semi locked from a front perspective so that you can only see your character and how he looks from the front to back. Like so. When in this mode your mouse only spins the camera and does not allow you to control your character.

    Both require a substantial amount of gunsmithing and machining to mount optics on. They already removed the lrs on the mosin they probably will remove any of the unrealistic accessories on the other weapons too. The yugo sks has no way to mount a pu scope In order to mount a pu scope outside mounts need to not only be found and procured but purchased. At the end of the game it all comes down to not having to have optics or scopes on every weapon. Optics including red dot sights should be restricted to a select few high end guns in the game this is good for gameplay and is realistic. On the same token if the weapon can take a scope in real life it should in game if its in. This mainly applies to m4 not being able to get the LRS. Having the vast majority of the guns in the game that you find and encounter on other players be restricted to Iron sights through lack of accessories and or extremely rare scope spawns would be great for gameplay.

    No I have nothing against scopes when it makes sense for the weapon. Having a ww2 curio relic have scopes in game is not believeable just like somehow magically mounting a pu scope on a sks isnt.

    Scope Compatibility

    If anything the scope compatibility needs to be far more restrictive and not even more open. Basically if the weapon can easily, without modification or any hard to imagine machining then give it the scope. Yes any weapon with rails should take any of the railed scopes, the pu scope should not mount on the sks, the pso scope should mount fine on the ak but zeroing should not work as the elevation adjustments are for 7.62x54r out of a svd.

    Cool collectors piece. Point still stands however. The k98 and any of the guns you listed would be fine additions without scopes. The sks for instance is another gun that could use the removal of the pu scope for instance.

    Yup same here I am especially interested if they make the shotguns more prevalent and what kind of an effect on gameplay it would have.

    Yea I like the idea of attachments atleast certain attachments such as high end optics spawning only on guns due to how rare it would make them. Correct me if I am wrong but doesn't the optic on the fn 2000 have a built in fire control unit for the 40mm launcher. You laze the target , then it tells you the proper angle to hit the target ?

    I like those exept for the f2000. The aug in particular makes sense as it is always for some odd reason seen in middle east conflicts. Syrian Rebels in particular seem to have a large number of the weapons for some odd reason. I don't know if that is because of it being readily available in the black market or not but for some reason this variation of the AUG seems to be readily available in most major conflicts. From a gameplay standpoint it also would be an interesting drop as it would come with a built in optic giving it higher value over other drops.

    From what I understand the mosin already lost the LRS. Reason for not a generic scope on the k98 would be that none exist ? unlike the pu scope no optic is produced today that is readily available as a pu scope that can be bought on amazon for about 100 bucks. All I am saying is it doesn't need any optics its fine with irons.

    Sounds good but you do know there is no need for optics on every weapon. The mauser could be added as a low tier bolt action, iron sight only gun. Accesories perhaps only being rifle grenades and a bayonet.

    Low end military rifles exist too. Things like the m16a2, vz 58 that is found in military surplus and intended not for front line troops but conscripted soldiers. Not every military rifle add in the game needs to have bleeding edge customization. Taking this approach with the AKM imo was the wrong approach it should have remained a low tier military rifle with limited to no customization, the customization being instead offered to the ak 101 or ak74m. Also someone data mined the latest patched and found a new upcoming shotgun. It is a single barreled 12 gauge shotgun neat low tier gun. Might give indication as to them further fleshing out the civilian guns.

    They can further differentiate it from the akm by making the sa58 have no accessories other than the bayonet. This way the akm can be moved up in the high end loot table due to its versatility with its wide set of attachments. The sa58 then can be the starter military rifle with no attachments other than a bayonet.
  19. The answer to that is the reliance on peeking around corners. Remove that crutch or diminish the ability for third person to be able to peek over and around corners and people will begin to only play fpv.

  21. I would like to add I am pretty sure there was word that third person view is going to get looked at in the future. I doubt it will stay the same as it is now.
  22. I say why stop there. Just remove FPv on third person view servers and replace iron sights with a simple crosshair.

    It is. It is almost like a frankeinstein gun. It even takes m1911 magazines . Interesting gun.
  24. We all know plate carriers are coming. We all know some items in the game right now seem to reduce ballistic damage with wonky results. However does anyone else thing plate carriers and ballistic vests should either only be cosmetic items and thus only determine how much a player can hold or only effectively stop pistol rounds and other small caliber rounds ? Everyone that has played the mod will remember that one critical element of the mod was how vulnerable the player felt at all times in the game. You could be armed to the teeth with all of the latest and greatest weapons in the game but a single makarov to your face could end it all. A fully geared player was no less vulnerable than a fresh spawn. Everyone had the same health pool, everyone felt the same fear of losing their gear. However in Standalone with armor we will have and do have situations where shooting and even engaging a geared player would be pointless. You have silly situations where you have the jump on a player but due to the silly armor you pump 4 rounds of 7.62x54r and they walk alway either only bleeding or completely unscathed. Arma 3 also tried to put Body armor into the game and the results have been disastrous the community by an large calling the damage model broken, and asking for the Arma 2 damage model back. Anyone else feel they should make ballistic helmets, Kevlar vests, plate carriers and other personal body armor items purely cosmetic and not have any sort of personal protection and instead only be sought after due to their look and carry capacity ?

    All those would be great but the De Lisle in particular would be fantastic due to its gameplay additions. An internally suppressed bolt action carbine in .45 ACP talk about unique. It would fit a similar role that the VSS would fit. I would imagine its pretty rare so the likelihood of finding it anywhere in the world to be slim.
