    ahaha no. I would just love a system where every single item is controlled and more importantly assigned a serial number so that duplicates can be quickly found and the duppers swiftly banned. The plus side is the devs have finer control on how the gameplay is by fine tuning the spawn rates and by only have a certain number of items in the game.

    Let's hope not. I am not even sure why the akm got a drum mag or the pso scope to be honest. It would have been better to just add a rpk74 or another lmg and give it a drum mag instead.
  6. No if you can't see them they cant see you either. So you would not get shot period. Unless they see you and of course you can then also see them if you have eye contact with them.

    I am not saying those should be ultra rare. I am saying having the mosin and the sks be controlled through the central server brings forth far too many benefit to ignore. They can control them through the central loot system and still make them abundant or not but the reason why it would be good is because they can cut down on dupping, they can see how players are playing the game and fine tune the loot by increasing or decreasing the total numbers of items. It just gives them a huge tool to potentially improve gameplay. For this very reason I think everything should be loot restricted through the system even canned food.

    I am hoping they took the everything is included approach to the central loot economy. This way every single item that is spawned in game can be checked and controlled accordingly. More importantly such a system should in theory be able to detect duplicates and hopefully who is carrying the duplicates thus banning people will be easier.
  11. It should have a positive effect on performance in theory since it would not render the players you can't see thus giving you some extra frames. I think the most important thing to remember about such a mod is that alone it would work but the pop in will be jarring. Moving the camera position lower so you can't really see over cover + 4th wall style mod from within the engine = best solution.
  12. Of course not the mod wont. The feature being built in to the engine is a high possibility however. Especially since this feature has high demand not only from Dayz players but Arma players.
  13. That still seems like the best solution . 4th wall style mod + camera repositioning so that pop in of characters is far far less obvious than it would be if the camera position remained 20 meters above your head.
  14. That is honestly the only problem with it. If you enjoy looking at your character or traveling in 3pp thats great nobody is against that. What people hate is how 3pp wall peeking ruins any player interaction and pvp. How pvp turns into watching each other through cover and then waiting for one of you to slip up. Stealth, flanking, ambushes are all ruined due to this.

    How is that crazy ? I am for every single thing that spawns to be centralized and restricted fine tuned by the devs to keep the players in a constant state of desperation. What would be the point of guns if they were reliably found. Restricting even the sks and mosin would not only help make for a more tense game but it would also cut down on the cheaters due to dupes being identified immediately.
  16. It is a choice. All I am saying is just because people want to keep something does not mean it will stay in its current state. If there was one facet of dayz that should be priority #1 with needing to be changed due to how bad it is for gameplay it is third person view. What the majority want also has no value here, the majority would also want to spawn with a gun but that aint happening.

    What if combat is not the main focus of the game ? what if survival is and later on base building and sustenance ?
  18. Do you have a choice on where to spawn ? Do you have a choice of who to spawn with ? Do you have a choice of what loot spawns in front of you ? Dayz is not about choices its about playing within a sandbox, being able to see around and over corners is not a choice. It is a crutch.

    Huge positive. Although not completely removed military spawns should still exist but it should be reduced to 1 or 2 bases thats it. Rest of the military spawns being dynamic heli crashes.

    It has nothing to do with wanting to loot with complete safety. It is all about making a gameplay feature within dayz more complex and giving it depth to further flesh it out. Right now sniping is insanely easy it literally requires no skill, just guess the range and point and click, if you miss walk your bullets. It makes little sense that the games easiest way to kill and hardest real life equivalent is so mind numbingly easy in game. I mean even arcade shooters like Battlefield have harder sniping mechanics and those are games with respawning instantly and no real consequences to dying. The secondary reason why sniping needs to mirror real life is the added control that it would give experienced snipers. Making shots at exactly 532 meters would now be a possibility no longer would you be stuck estimating with the current easy mode system.

    The m16a4 is entirely too modular and nothing aside from a 3 round burst would set it apart from the m4. This is why the m16a2 would be optimal as a low end full sized 5.56 military drop.
  23. Forcing third person view to be a purely cosmetic view would however. Having third person view be a locked perspective from the front, would solve the problem.
  24. I was too. Surely after all the complaints from Arma and in the mod they would have realized how much of a detriment to gameplay third person view is in its current form. However they can still fine tune and mess with tpv in order to ensure that it does not allow for anything that can be considered bad for gameplay. There are any number of things that can be done to ensure wall peeking is impossible while still allowing people to view their characters.
